UPDATE: Kiefer Sutherland is getting back in “Touch” with TV.
The actor has officially signed a deal to star in the new Fox drama,
“Touch,” from “Heroes” creator Tim Kring. The series is slated to begin
production in early June, after Sutherland wraps up his current
commitment starring on Broadway.

star Kiefer Sutherland may be returning to his former network
home–possibly as soon as this fall–if this juicy bit of news works out.
Sutherland revealed he’s in preliminary talks to play the leading role in “Touch,” a drama pilot in development at Fox from “Heroes” creator Tim Kring.
The story centers around a father–the part to be played by
Sutherland–who discovers that his mute, autistic son can predict events
before they happen.
After taking some time off from playing intense CTU Agent Jack Bauer for eight grueling seasons on the hit drama “24,” Sutherland announced in January that he was working on a web-based action series called “The Confession,” in which he plays a hitman.
Sutherland made the statements about the new television series while
promoting his Broadway debut opposite Jason Patric and Chris Noth in
“That Championship Season,” a play that gave him a “sense of purpose,”
according to the New York Times. (And a rediscovered desire to get back to work?)
