Big Brother 14 -2012 Day 12 Empty Big Brother 14 -2012 Day 12

Post  Banjo 2012-07-23, 15:30

As predicted, last night CBS didn't show Willie's rant against Frank which started his path to eviction. Of course they would have had to bleep 90 % of his words which would have been confusing to the casual CBS-only viewers. But the head butting of Joe was shown, which was the main reason for his eviction so all in all the casual viewer got a sense of the drama.

'Big Brother 14' Spoilers: Was the Power of Veto Used in Week 2?
Monday, July 23, 2012

John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

The Power of Veto ceremony on Big Brother is usually a predictable affair. If one of the nominees won it, they will save themselves. If not, it probably won't get used. This week is more predictable than usual.

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 14 spoilers.

Frank nominated JoJo and Shane and Shane won the Power of Veto.

Shane saved himself and Danielle was nominated.

And so begins the painfully predictable week.... (not necessarily all that predictable. Speculation is rampant among fans that Grodner et al, will come up with a twist to shake things up. Although this may not happen until Thursday when the supposedly 'live' sequences occur. At any rate I and others don't believe the hype that the coaches will be allowed to enter the game at some point.)..... Boogie and Janelle's teams are working together (Boogie has dubbed them the Eight is Enough Alliance since, counting the two coaches, there are eight of them). So by process of elimination, Danielle was the ONLY person Frank could've nominated.

But she's the pawn as it seems everyone wants JoJo out. Janelle and her team want JoJo out, but they're afraid that if they say that then Frank and Boogie will find it suspicious and go against them. Ironically, Frank and Boogie ALSO want JoJo out.

Of course Frank and Boogie are also trying to shore up Shane's support, convincing him that they want to work with him. Of course they basically want to use him as a fourth vote to turn against Janelle's team when the time is right.

This is the big problem with the season, and the reason I'm already bored with how predictable Big Brother 14 is. It's a team game and there's no changing that. Boogie is completely controlling Frank, Ian and Jenn while Janelle is controlling Wil, Joe and Ashley. It's become impossible (why ?) to break up either of those teams, so the other HGs need to align with a team, not with an individual.

Even worse, the coaches are manipulating everything. Last night on the live feeds Boogie and Dan had a long chat about strategy and how everything will go down. Neither of them are actually playing this game, but they were talking as if the newbies are chess pieces they can make do whatever they want. It was depressing because they weren't wrong... Boogie suggested to Dan that he engage Janelle in a chess game and try to feel her out as to her thoughts/strategy, etc. whether he did this last night or will do so later, I don't know because I went to bed at 11:30. I am such a bad fan ! beatdown But Boogie intends to turn on Janelle later at some strategic point. He appears to be cooperating with her only until the time is right to strike. He didn't get his reputation for nothing... Rolling Eyes

The coaches have taken complete control of this game and the newbies have let it happen. It has become a boring, predictable game. There's no way for JoJo to survive this week because it's not a matter of getting a few votes. At this point, Boogie and Janelle's teams are voting together. So when Thursday comes, it will either be a 5-1 vote or a 6-0 vote.

Watching a bunch of sheep blindly go along with their teams makes for incredibly boring and awful television. Big Brother 14 needs to shake things up in a major way next week. Because right now I can barely stomach the dull live feeds.... I don't know why he thinks the live feeds are so dull. When else have we seen such a blow up as Willie's ? Sure , hour to hour the live feeds can be slow and boring, that's their nature when people are just eating, telling jokes, in the bath room etc. They can't be coming up with wild schemes and plots every minute. And why do you think that some of those women are picked, partially, for their bikini appearance ? It's not to bore us, I assure you. woohoo

'Big Brother 14' Poll: How Do You Define a Floater?

John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

In the Big Brother house, everyone loves to talk about how much they hate floaters. Whether they're being told to grab a life vest or making it to the end, being a floater seems to be the Big Brother equivalent of being a Nazi.

But what constitutes a floater? Thus far in Big Brother 14, I believe nearly every single HG has been called a floater by another HG at some point or another. So what actually makes someone a floater?

A Person Without an Alliance

The term "floater" may refer to someone who floats independently from everyone else, a HG who has no ties or connections and just exists in limbo. This season that role seems to fit quite to Dan's one remaining player, Danielle. Dan has coached her to throw competitions and he's doing the same. His goal is for her to exist in the nether space between powerful groups.

A Person Who Goes Where the Power Is

A "floater" might also be someone who floats from one person to another, depending on who has the power. This floater will always seem to be in an alliance, but their allegiance shifts week to week. It's still early this season, but it's easy to argue that all of Janelle's team falls into this category. Originally they were aligned with Britney's team, now they're with Frank's team. Joe, in particular, seems willing to tell anyone anything in hopes of being in their favor, thus making him the ultimate floater, going from person to person and making sure he's good with them.

A Person Who Does Nothing

A third definition for a "floater" might be someone who wins no competitions, gets no blood on his or her hands and simply floats through the entire season by being so light and useless. This season is full of these types of people. Ashley admitted she wants this role. Danielle is being coached to be this kind of player. And Jenn may be playing it better than anyone ever has, because I don't think the other HGs even know she's in this game. We also need more time to pass and more competitions so occur, but people like Joe could also fall into this category.

The problem with all three of these definitions is that they are all different. One person's floater is another person's loyal soldier. Is Shane a floater just because his entire team has been decimated this week (assuming JoJo gets evicted)? Is Ian a floater because he doesn't win anything or seem to get involved in the game, even though he's quite loyal to Boogie and is doing exactly what his team wants him to do? Is Frank a floater because he just smiles and gets along with everyone and doesn't make any enemies, even making a deal with Shane after the Power of Veto despite the fact that Shane was his original target?

I don't know the answers to these questions, but I know that until people actually define the term "floater," I'm going to hate everyone in the house who says they need to go after someone for being one. Floating is all relative.
