This thing is finally on TV so I'm watching it before the football marathon. It was reviled by critics and audiences when it first came out, I suppose only those who had read the John Carter books would have any reference... 
An hour in I can at least say that it has some good CGI. I don't recognize the actress that plays the "dusky skinned beauty Deja Thoris.".....who, as every pre- and post pubescent boy back in the day will recall, John first saw Deja bathing naked in a pool......... 
Okay, now I get it. An hour and a half in.....the dialog.

It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen...but it was far from the best.
