American Idol

Well, I think I'm the only one in this group that watches Idol.....but I need a place to share my thoughts.....so here it is.

The pre-competition shows are pretty amuzing.....lots of bad singers, some over the top....but I enjoy a good laugh after a hard day at work....
Paula was on something last night.....she showed up late and then looked out of it for most of the show, even Ryan stepped in at one point to help judge one girl, while Paula stepped out for some reason.

They keep most of the really good singers low key, so we will be amazed later in the show.......

Last night was pretty good in American Idol world.......lots of talent this year.....one guy really blew one song, but they put him through to the next round based on his other performances....which was the right thing to do in my opinion.

Tonight they announce the top 24, 12 guys and 12 girls, which America will now vote on......................

All in all, I am pleased with their selection of the top 24. Only one didn't make it that I was hoping for..... They are all so talented.

Should be a fun season to watch!!!!

The singing was just ok this week, but obviously they want the contestants to improve each week, which they always do.....

One thing I did like, was they made a little bigger deal out of the top 24, photo shoots, private jet travel, and they all sang a song together which was a first for the top 24.

I was perfectly fine with the four that were bottom vote getters last night....they were definitely not top 10 material. Danny and Amanda need to go next......

Well, I enjoyed last night's show....that cute little David Archuleta is stealing the show......but there are definitely other contenders. Kinda hoping for Danny and Robbie to go this week......

This is my first season watching AI... Thanks to the writer's strike.

I didn't see the gals last week so I have no opinion on them yet.

The guys are fantastic! They can all sing!

I don't like Danny. He has too much attitude for me.
I don't like the singing waiter guy either. He borders on being corny.

I like Jason C. but after last night I think he'll be gone this week.

Unless David A. really scews up something, I think he'll win.

I really like all the 'rockers' in the group.

Danny is a little too "gay" for me.....and yes his attitude is way off the charts....

Just to let you know, the show will get better and better, as the performers get more coaching and practice, they really improve over the weeks. By the time we get to the top ten, it is hard to see any of them go home.....

The girls were a little on the weak side last night. Too many of them played it safe with boring songs. I love the song Amanda did from Kansas, one of my all time favorites, but I didn't think she did well with it. She may be on the chopping block, although "Vote for the Worst.com" is now promoting her, along with Danny.

I was not impressed with the gals. Maybe it was a lot of bad song choices.

Yeah, the girls were not good this week. I was ok with the choices last night, because I picked by top 6 guys and top 6 girls and none of them left last night.

Weren't there any lively songs in the 80s? ... Most everything tonight was slowish... I'd never heard a lot of the songs... What I thought was terrible the judges liked.

I hope Luke makes it through this round.

Jero, I agree with EVERYTHING you said.

I agree there were a lot of great songs from the 80's, but they are limited to the artists that have released their songs for American Idol to sing, and so not every song is available to them.

Yes, Danny must go....the guy (gal??) is so iritating.....but VotefortheWorst.com is trying to keep him in.

I am actually hoping for Chikezie and Danny to go next....
I love something about Luke!!!! He is adorable, and I love his voice...I wish he would do some Kenny Loggins.

I loved Jason last night too, loved that song......but yes, Michael Johns and David Archeletta are the top two in my book, too!!!

They were having problems with David Cook's guitar and he had to switch places with the next one up.....my guess is it was never hooked up they way they intended.....

Tonight is the girls turn.

The girls did ok, but the boys outsang them this week in my opinion. I am hoping for the following to go tonight......

Amanda is interesting, and I think she did a great job with her last song.....maybe she'll grow on me......I just wish she would smile a little more.....act like she is enjoying herself.....

Last nights two hour competition was great.....

My pick for getting voted off has to go to Kristy....and her country rendition of 8 days a Week.

Chikeze was my favorite last night!!!! I actually said "wow" while watching him. Most disappointing goes to David Archelletta....what happened there????

I didn't care much for the 2nd hour... Although I sorta liked Kristie's country version of 8 Days a Week, I also think she'll be next to go.

Well, a slight surprise that David H. was "stripped" from the top 12. (pun intended)

I think he can be a great singer, he just picked the wrong song and didn't perform as well as the prior week.....Christy may be the next to go since she was in the bottom two.....

I agree Michael Johns was disappointing as well. He better watch it, or David Cook will take over as male rock star!!!!!!

I'm starting to like Jason Castro. He's got a unique voice, and when he sang Hallelujah, he totally got me on his side.

Hey Islandgirl!!! I like Jason as well, although I see him possibly making the top five, I'm not sure he has a chance to win. I do see the guys doing better than the girls, finally!!!!

I really enjoyed David A., David C., and Jason. I am still disappointed with Michael Johns....he could be doing SOOOO much more than he is.....I don't have a favorite girl, guess I'm hoping a guy will take the crown this season.

Well Amanda is gone, (sorry Jero) but I am happy with the top 10 performers who will now go on to do the tour this summer. Lots of talent in this group, but nobody has had that true wow factor yet......

well I do watch me some Idol every year. This year I haven't loved anybody but I did like all the the David's one of them is gone but I still have the 2 others.

Yes, even though Duaghtry came in fourth....he is a BIG winner!!! I LOVE his music.

Yes. I remember when Simon predicted Carrie Underwood would be the most successful American Idol yet...and so far, that's proven true. Unless Archuletta wins (and he'd get every little teeny bopper in America's attention...lol), then he could very well steal her crown...maybe.

That makes Chris Daughtry the most successful non-American Idol to date, right?
