The Amazing Race season 28

I've never heard of any of these people !  Not that we usually are familiar with them at the start of previous seasons, but then they were mostly just "ordinary people",  rather than 'social media stars' like this bunch. I suppose it will work out okay, probably be a battle of egos .....

The premire was okay. I still haven't heard of any of the team members but they must be 'famous' because in the airports people were coming up to them and wanting to take selfies, and one taxi driver asked for an autograph from the gay team.

The mother/son team looked like they were going to bomb out early, he was loud and brash and she was weepy but they managed to finish in the middle of the pack. The embarrassment was the father/daughter team. He is a doctor but was such a doofus at the Mexican archaeological dig that he put them in last place, normally an eviction even on the first leg, but for some reason it wasn't an eviction this time so all 11 teams are still in it. I don't have any favorites yet, but the models look pretty good. "We will use our looks as an advantage whenever necessary".....always a good sign, but historically models never win....

The mother/daughter team is the first eliminated this season just because of where they left their cab.

Cab problems have caused teams to lose the finale or be eliminated in past seasons but it was usually caused by the cab driver not knowing where to go or driving too slowly. This is the first time that a team left their cab a mile away from where it needed to be.

Darius arrived back at the starting point, but thought that since his designer’s name was Adriana, he had to find someone by that name. So after standing mere feet from the vendor with the clue, he wandered off to find someone else.

And this caused him and Cameron to be the second team eliminated.

Two weeks, two doofus mistakes. Will this be the signature of this season ?

This wasn't so much of a boring episode as rather a demonstration of how hard it is to take off in a dual passenger paraglider in 3-4 ft. of snow.

It's a good thing that that was a non-elimination leg or else the mother/son team would have been booted. It was interesting to see that many Armenian taxis are Ladas (Soviet era Fiat 124 sedans built in Russia) and that any are still running is amazing. If the mother hadn't gotten help to be shown that the oil filter has to be turned left to untighten, she'd probably still be there.

His predictions are as good as any given that there are so many "non-entities" (ie, bland, forgettable) this season that it's hard to say....

That was an interesting episode , seeing the amazing sights of Dubai and the 'world's tallest building', and how the whole new city rose out of the desert.

The bike riders racing against the Camels handicapped themselves with poor technique, but they eventually got through the task.....

Coming down to what shapes up to be a bland finale in a few weeks. No one knows who to root for. I'll go with the mother/son team. At least she has 'moxie', if not a good chance to win.....

He may be right about Brodie and Kurt, Brodie certainly doesn't pull his weight, but I think it might be Dana and Matt. She is so unpleasant to hear her always screaming at him that it might prove their undoing.....exactly how I'm not sure, but the audience wouldn't mind seeing them go....

Now if Dana and Matt are booted next it will leave a fairly peaceful Final 3 to battle it out for the million $ .

So the mother/son team, Sheri and Cole, make it to the Final Three. I would like to see them win , but Tyler and Korey are more likely. Dana and Matt made it to the Final Three also, it would be a nightmare if they win....

So our long national nightmare begins.....snicker. But Matt and Dana did what had to be done to win so you can't fault them for that.

The turning point was when Dana was able to grab the clue envelope on the first try when jumping off the 18th story of the building. The other two teams took 2 and 3 tries before catching the clue. That put Matt and Dana far enough ahead to win , probably even if Dana hadn't done the last challenge so fast.

Be interesting to see if that million dollars keeps those two together or whether they will go their separate ways. The last episode was the only one I saw but I was staggered at the challenges they all had and conquered. They all deserve a million $$

10 different countries this time, about the typical number but there were some pretty brutal comps. I can't imagine the prep. that goes into producing that show. Getting the various countries to allow a bunch of crazy Americans to run rampant through the streets....
