This is probably correct but can't say 100%, but it may be possible to be in two productions at the same time because we don't know the shooting scheds. or his amount of on screen time in each. scratch

A cliffhanger is by definition something that doesn't reveal much of what is to come. So I don't understand why some fans are upset that he didn't reveal the victim at the end of S6. scratch

The fervor over The Walking Dead season 6 cliffhanger has died down somewhat since airing. Still, The Walking Dead had a lot to answer for and talk about when they took the stage at Hall H at San Diego Comic Con 2016. They (mostly) delivered. Of course The Walking Dead didn't spoil the identity of Negan's victim (or victims) at SDCC. They did, however, deliver a trailer and enough new bits of information to hopefully tide people over until season 7's premiere in October.

[VIDEO] Fear The Walking Dead Promises New Locations, Badasses and More in Season 2b >>>

Before The Walking Dead showed off the trailer, the official premiere date was announced. The Walking Dead will return on Sunday, October 23 at 9 pm on AMC to reveal the identity of Negan's victim and start season 7. This is about 2 weeks later than normal for The Walking Dead, so they are really drawing out this cliffhanger as long as possible. The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman promised that all the wait will be "worth it."

The trailer, though, has no hints about who actually survived Negan's attack. The trailer, embedded below, starts with a series of flashback snippets showing the lives of the survivors' present at Negan's supposed slaughter. After that is over the trailer quickly moves into all new characters and locations. We see some old characters, who weren't present at the cliffhanger, like Jesus, Morgan and Carol. Mostly, though, the trailer is devoted to all new faces.

Probably the most interesting among the new stuff is the character Ezekiel and the location of the Kingdom. Both should be very familiar to comic book readers but they do make an entrance in the trailer for viewers. This is the largely because one of the fanciful elements from Ezekiel's character from the comics is making its way to TV. Ezekiel will have a gigantic tiger named Shiva as a pet.

Robert Kirkman Fails to Justify the Controversial Walking Dead Cliffhanger >>>

From there the cast came out on the SDCC stage and the obvious elephant in the room was the cliffhanger scene. Jeffrey Dean Morgan says that he got recognized more following the airing of The Walking Dead season 6 finale than any other time in his career. Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, said that filming the cliffhanger was one of the hardest scenes she had to do. Maggie, as you might remember, was in severe pain in the season 6 finale and Cohan had to act that state for two weeks while filming the finale.

Other Panel Highlights:

Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl, has had trouble adjusting to wearing an eyepatch since Carl was shot. Norman Reedus has apparently had a lot of fun at Riggs' expense. (Guess that means Daryl doesn't die?)
Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus are currently embroiled in a massive prank war -- a war that continued during the panel.
Danai Gurira says Michonne became attracted to Rick because "He was a good man burdened by leadership."

But what do you think? Are you excited by the season 7 trailer? Do you have faith that the show will deliver on the cliffhanger? Who do you think is going to die?

AMC has had one show last week previewing S7 and we are warned to watch the premire episode with a "loved one" or at least a couple of cats. I am prepared. Geoffrey Dean Morgan says it will be "dark" but try to hold on to your sanity.

As shocking a revelation as this may be, it's worth noting that on last Sunday's show on AMC to prepare us for the S7 premire, the actor that plays Dwight was a guest and this same clip was shown. Neither he nor Chris Hardwick took note of the vest nor the fact that he was riding Daryl's motorcycle. Chris would normally have spotted the vest and commented. Of course it's possible that AMC told them to keep quiet and just let the reviewers and fans make the connection. But, I haven't seen any reaction on fan sites either. So this is something of a mystery.... scratch

[VIDEO] 'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Teaser: Is Daryl Dead?

Derek Stauffer
Contributing Writer, BuddyTV

As controversial as the decision might have been, The Walking Dead has done an extraordinarily good job keeping the name of Negan's victim a secret. It's been months since The Walking Dead season 6 finale cliffhanger, which ended with the huge mystery of who Negan brutally murdered with his baseball bat, "Lucille."

According to People, however, a big clue might have just been dropped in an upcoming season 7 teaser. A Walking Dead fan favorite looks like they may not have survived the big encounter with Lucille. Daryl Dixon's days as a zombie-murdering badass might be finally over.

[WATCH] The Walking Dead Announces Season 7 Premiere Date and Discusses Controversial Cliffhanger >>>

In the video, embedded below, Daryl's new nemesis Dwight can be seen with two of Daryl's prized posessions. Dwight is on a road filled with very decrepit zombies, riding (presumably) Daryl's beloved motorcycle. The one thing that can not be mistaken, however, is Daryl's customary leather vest. Dwight is wearing Daryl's leather vest, faded angel wings on the back and all.

It's meant to be an shocking image and it works. Daryl has rarely, if ever, been seen not wearing his leather vest. Watching Dwight skulk around with Daryl's vest on really does feel like Dwight is wearing Daryl's actual skin. If Negan did kill Daryl it would certainly take Rick down a peg too, which was Negan's whole aim.

Here's What Your Favorite TV Stars Are up to This Summer >>>

But there may not be that much reason to worry. This would not be the first time that Dwight has taken something from Daryl on The Walking Dead. In addition, the penultimate episode of season 6 saw Dwight shoot and incapacitate Daryl. There is nothing to suggest that Dwight didn't take Daryl's bike and vest right then and there. Daryl doesn't HAVE to be dead for Dwight to have his stuff. But it certainly doesn't mean that Daryl is alive and well either.

But what do you think? Did The Walking Dead just spoil its biggest mystery of season 7? Do you think this is all misdirection? Why do you think Dwight has Daryl's vest? Will Daryl be able to reclaim his things from Dwight, assuming he is alive?

The Walking Dead season 7 will premiere Sunday, October 23 at 9pm on AMC.

There are so many theories and so many people working on analyzing the clues, that it's very possible that someone will come up with the truth before Oct. 23. Of course if they do, the producers would never acknowledge it.

Ok, so we made it through last night, the Sun rose as usual this morning and, as far as we can tell, the Earth is still in a stable orbit. Does this mean that all is hunky-dory now? Not necessarily, mental illness and depression can take a long time to set in. So far fans are not reporting severe problems. At any rate the predictions as to who got their brains bashed out was fairly accurate.  In the graphic comics that the show is based on, Glenn is one victim so it was a no-brainer (sorry about the pun) when he was the first victim of Negan on the show. The speculation that Maggie would be another one was way off base, killing her while pregnant would be just a little too much even for TWD. But since Glenn was her husband Lauren did have a difficult scene to pull off. The prediction that Michael/Abraham would be the second victim was accurate. Steven/Glenn had been on the show since S1 and Michael nearly as long.  They will be missed. Jeffrey Dean Morgan does a good job as the raving, lunatic villan with his barbed wire wrapped baseball bat "Lucille".  His character will be around at least all this season but will likely meet an 'epic' death somewhere along the line.

Last night on The Talking Dead they gathered several thousand fans in a Hollywood cemetery and had all the major stars/characters come up on stage including Steven and Michael.  There was a light drizzle so they gave them umbrellas. A montage of clips were played as a tribute to Steven's and Michael's performances over the years. They were very touched. Over on the side of the stage was a big banner..."We are just getting started"....implying according to the two exec. prods. that were there, that there is a lot more story to tell and we can be sure that AMC will keep it around for as long as the prods. want to because rating [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] crush all other fictional shows including on broadcast TV, and it sure has a legion of fans never seen before.

So we'll see how this goes and how Maggie deals with her baby as a widow. We remember that four seasons ago when Lori was bitten, she was able to give birth to a healthy baby, Judith, who has survived and was luckily back in
Alexandria when Negan was doing the brain bashing. Of course Carl, Lori's son, had to shoot her after she gave birth but before she "turned". She now has the role of the wife on Colony. I think  that in the comics (I don't read them, a very, very inexcusable thing for a TWD fan to admit) that Carl had his left arm chopped off. On the show last night Negan told Rick, his father, that if he didn't chop off Carl's arm with the supplied hatchet, he, Negan, would kill all the others. Rick was near a mental and emotional breakdown when Carl told him it was okay. Negan had marked the spot on Carl's arm where he wanted Rick to chop. Rick started to swing the hatchet but Negan stopped him and told him that it was a test, so Carl kept his arm, different than the comics.

Of course the character of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) who is probably the most popular male character on the show isn't even in the comics so the prods., one of whom is the comics creator too, knows how to cast for a mass audience.

In The Walking Dead season 7 premiere, "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be," we finally learn who met a brutal end after last season's cliffhanger, but that is only the tip of the iceberg in this intense, traumatic hour. The cast and crew warned us how rough this episode would be, and they were not lying. The way Negan devastates our group is a real game-changer, and it will be interesting to see how -- or even if -- they come back from this.

AMC Renews The Walking Dead for Season 8 >>>

Negan Takes Rick for a Ride

The episode opens mere minutes after the big moment, with Negan swinging around his bloody bat. (Some of the blood has even splashed onto Rick's face.) Rick's response to the violence against his group is not the smartest move. Instead of playing along with Negan's rules until his group is at less of a disadvantage, Rick tells Negan that he is going to kill him.
Negan reacts to this by taking Rick's ax and taunting him about possibly killing his right-hand man. He then drags Rick into the RV for a road trip of mind games.

Before the road trip, Negan slams Rick's weapon into the table and goes to start up the RV. He tells Rick that his best chance is to grab the ax and drive it through the back of his head. Rick makes a go of it, but Negan easily gets the drop on him. He hits Rick and says he wants him to think about what happened and what could still happen.

Negan drives to the bridge that the Saviors threw one of their victims off of in last season's finale. He then opens the door to the RV, throws out his ax and demands that Rick go retrieve it. What follows in a tense sequence that finds Rick unable to locate the ax amidst the fog-drenched walker horde, so Rick climbs on top of the RV for a better view. Alas, he stays up there a bit too long for Negan's liking, and Negan eventually fires shots at Rick via the RV's roof. This forces Rick to jump off the RV, grab hold of the swinging Savior victim (who has now turned) and eventually fall into the walker horde. Negan picks off a few of the walkers so Rick isn't killed instantly and then yells at Rick to finish the job.

Rick, spurred on by visions of the rest of his loved ones getting killed by Lucille, makes his way through the remaining walkers to get the ax. Negan then drives them back to the group. Before reuniting Rick with his family, Negan stops to clean off the weapon and taunt Rick about losing two members of his group. Negan claims that despite what went down, Rick can still have a productive life working for him. He even returns Rick's ax, though we later find out that is part of Negan's plan to break Rick.

Who Met Lucille?

In the midst of the Rick-Negan road trip, we flash back to the moment Negan kills one of our main characters. After months of speculation, we watch via Rick's point of view as Negan chooses Abraham.

Abraham's death is horrible, but it's not as stomach-turning as I expected it to be. It turns out they were saving the real brutality for later. After Negan kills Abraham, he sees Rosita sobbing. He decides to taunt her, holding up the bloody bat so she can see it. He then tries to force her to look at Abraham's blood all over said bat, and that's when everything goes to hell.

What did you think of Abraham being the one chosen? The writers certainly gave him a lot of good moments in last season's finale, from talking about the future with Sasha to having that sweet scene with Eugene. Were those moments enough to give you some closure over his death? How will Rosita and Eugene cope with Abraham's loss? Where does Sasha go from here? She has now lost two lovers, so she might just swear off romance all together.

Michael Cudlitz did a wonderful job bringing such a larger-than-life character to the screen. I remember the excitement when his casting was first announced, and I was so impressed when we finally saw him step into Abraham's shoes. His charisma and comedic timing made Abraham likable even when he shouldn't have been. But it was his quieter moments, particularly with Josh McDermitt's Eugene, that stood out the most to me. At least Abe got off one last one-liner before the end.

Negan Claims a Second Victim

In the wake of Abraham's death, the group suffers two more losses. When Negan taunts a grieving Rosita, Daryl takes it upon himself to intervene, going against the rules Negan established. As a result, Negan decides that more punishment must follow. Daryl will eventually be taken captive by the Saviors, and Negan turns his bat to another member of the group. We watch Glenn get his iconic comic death as Negan beats him to a bloody pulp. Before he dies, Glenn manages to get off one last sentiment to Maggie. In a powerful moment, Glenn says, "Maggie, I'll find you." Maggie then has to watch as her husband and the father of her unborn child is beaten to death right in front of her.

The death of Steven Yeun's Glenn is a real gut-punch. With so few original characters remaining, losing any of them is difficult, but Glenn was such a warm, positive presence that his loss carries an added weight. Glenn held onto his humanity more than any other character on the show. He was the guy who gave people second chances whether they proved worthy of it (Tara) or not (everyone's least favorite dumpster-diver, Nicholas). He cared about every member of Team Family, and his romance with Maggie was one of the few hopeful things to come out of this bleak universe.

Glenn's death -- and the departure of the incredible Steven Yeun -- will be felt for a long time to come. One can only hope that the stories that come out of this loss, especially for Maggie, are worth it.

Quiz: Which Spooky TV Town Should You Trick-or-Treat in This Halloween? >>>

Negan Breaks Rick

If all that death isn't enough, Negan is still not done traumatizing Rick's group. After his road trip of mind games, Negan brings Rick back to the group for more psychological torture. See, Negan is still not pleased with the way Rick is looking at him, so he decides he needs to just break Rick completely. Negan has his men put guns to everyone's heads, brings Carl forward and tells Rick that he has to cut off Carl's arm with his ax! If he doesn't, Negan threatens to shoot them all (not to mention Negan's promise to go back to Alexandria and murder everyone there too).

As Rick begs for Negan to let it be him instead of Carl, Negan insists that this is the only way. With everyone's life on the line and Negan literally counting down the seconds, Rick finally picks up the ax and prepares to swing. Thankfully, Negan stops him. This was just another mind game to make Rick understand that Negan is in charge now and Rick and all his people belong to him. (He drives that point home by taking Daryl as a hostage, though I imagine from Negan's comment about liking Daryl that he will probably try to sway Daryl to his side.)

Negan and the Saviors finally pack up and head out, telling Rick and his group that they will be back in a week for their first offering.

Have You Cried Enough Yet?

In an absolutely gut-wrenching performance from Lauren Cohan, Maggie struggles to her feet and starts walking away from the group. Maggie tells them that she can get to the Hilltop on
her own and they should go back to Alexandria so they can gather forces to fight the Saviors. Rick explains to Maggie that they cannot fight the Saviors, as Negan not only has an army
at his disposal but he also has Daryl. Maggie still insists that everyone else go home, as they were only out there for her.

Eventually, Sasha steps forward and says that she'll take Maggie to the Hilltop and stay there to keep her safe. A heartbroken Maggie says she wants to take Glenn's body with her. Sasha then tells Rosita the same about Abraham. Maggie tries to take Glenn's body on her own until the others stop her, and Rick explains, "He's our family too." While Rick, Carl, Michonne and Aaron handle Glenn's body, Rosita and Eugene help Sasha with Abraham's.

We then get a fantasy sequence of the whole group together again for Sunday dinner, complete with our deceased characters and a Gleggie baby. The episode closes with a close-up of Rick's eyes as he drives the RV away from the scene of so much horror.

What did you think of the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead? Was the fallout from Negan's attack worth the frustration brought about by last season's cliffhanger? How
would you rank Abraham and Glenn's deaths among the many that have come before? Where do you see the group going from here? With Rick as destroyed as he is at the end of the hour, will someone else step up as the group's leader? If so, my money's on Michonne.

Will Daryl end up blaming himself for Glenn's death? How will those not present for Negan's attack react to what went down? And who will get stuck with the task of telling poor Tara that not only is her girlfriend dead but now so are two of her closest friends? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

This makes sense if they are using the comic book as a "template". They don't follow it page for page, and of course the dialog is different but I guess they want to follow the broader plot outlines . scratch

Whew !  At least they calmed things down after last week and King Ezekiel is an interesting addition and with the reappearance of Carol and Morgan we can expect 'stuff' to happen.  On The Talking Dead they explained how they created Ezekiel's pet tiger. The mechanical, moving head was well done and realistic but I still don't understand how they did the body. It looked like state of the art CGI but the prod. didn't say that they did it that way. scratch It would have been pretty expensive if it was CGI and the Walking Dead props directors like to physically create 'sets', and 'effects' as much as possible.

Chloe Bennet from S.H.I.E.L.D. was a nice addition to the guest list. two thumbs up

On The Talking Dead last night they had Lou Diamond Phillips, Ron Funches, and Dave Alpert one of the exec. prods.

They all had good analyses, but the one thing that was really noticeable was that Ron Funches has lost a lot of weight since he was on Undateable, which was cancelled unfortunately. But he was very overweight before so it's good to see that he's slimmed down.

This is what he looked like when on Undateable:

By introducing these new groups of survivors they open up the possibilities for the writers to 'branch out' with the plot lines. The downside is that there could be episodes and screen time taken away from the main characters.

Alanna had just become a new mother when she filmed this episode. Her baby was with her but in an air conditioned office since it was ~100 deg. out when they were filming the episode.

"Heath" may not be seen much any more because the actor that plays him is the lead character on the new "24" show.

A good mid-season finale even with the two unexpected deaths.

The producers are right about the violence. The fact that it is always in the top 3 for audience numbers says that the majority agree and those that don't should probably be watching Once Upon a Time instead. tongue

Week from Sunday !!  Feb 12.

I knew that Rick's revolver is a Colt Python, but I didn't know that it's been out of production for some years and good, used ones can go for over $4 K !

They are chambered for various rounds. I don't know what round Rick's is but if it is the most popular .357 Magnum round, then any hit on a human body will go clear through easily regardless of the point on the body that is hit. Of course there are more powerful revolvers, the .44 Magnum that Dirty Harry used but they are so uncomfortable to fire that they aren't as popular.

"
Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. 'Did he fire six shots or only five'? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, i kind of lost track myself. But being that this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well do ya, punk?"

An interesting episode last night. The "junk yard" is an amazing piece of set construction and this guy is getting most of the credit for it.

A new character; she plays 'Jadis', the leader of the junk yard 'tribe'.

One thing I noticed though is that although the "Scavengers" have arranged the junk in neat piles and rows, there is no evidence of the heavy equipment necessary to do this, practically, such as bulldozers, front end loaders, etc. , the sort of machines that most large junk yards use to manage and move the debris. That's not to say that it couldn't be done by hand, eventually, but it would certainly be a dangerous and time consuming job. Of course the Scavengers have had the time, and the lack of machinery would have given them no choice.  Their choice of 'living conditions' and security is certainly unique within TWD world.
