There are clearly two sides of the house on Big Brother 18, but HGs are always plotting. Will the second Power of Veto competition change everything or will the HoH's original plan go into effect?

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 18 spoilers.

Paulie is the new HoH. He nominated Paul and Bronte. Victor won the Road Kill competition and nominated Tiffany. Da'Vonne and Zakiyah were also picked to play.

Paulie won the Power of Veto!

It was the spelling competition and now Cody's brother has all of the power to do exactly what he wants: backdoor Victor. He'll probably use it on Paul, but he's not sure if he should give Victor a heads up or blindside him at the ceremony. As of now, the plan is to blindside him, with Paulie agreeing to take all of the heat.

Paulie won because he buzzed in the fastest, even though other people got the same score as he did (each letter had a number value). Here are the words we know of:

Paulie: SUSTAINABILITY (at 14 letters, that beats Brendan's record of 13 letters for UNDERSTANDING)
Bronte: POWERFUL
Paul: SLOUCH
Tiffany: TWINKLING
Zakiyah: DURATION (I think)
Da'Vonne: ???

The talk of possibly evicting Tiffany instead has quieted down a lot as she seems a lot calmer and happier. It definitely looks like an easy week with a backdoor plan in place. However, after the competition Da'Vonne vented to Frank, claiming that Tiffany looked at how many letters she had and went back to get more so Tiffany could beat Da'Vonne. However, both Bronte and Paulie beat both of them and Frank tried to diffuse the situation.

Tiffany's Vanessa-Style Freakout>>

There's also a new wrinkle in the Da'Vonne/Tiffany feud, which may not be real at all. Da'Vonne told Zakiyah that she was only pretending to want Tiffany gone with Frank to see what he'd say. Knowing that Frank wants Tiffany gone, Da'Vonne now claims that she wants to take him out sooner rather than later, possibly before jury. Her plan is to get rid of Victor, Paul and Bronte, then turn on their own guys like Corey, Frank, James and Paulie.

Was Da'Vonne lying to Frank or to Zakiyah? She may be playing all sides, but for now, it's unclear to me if her true loyalty lies with the veterans or the Fatal 5. No matter what, I am starting to believe that her ride-or-die this season is Zakiyah.

The Have-Nots

In addition, Paul, Zakiyah and Da'Vonne are once again the Have-Nots for the week due to the fact that their team had the fewest berries at the end of the HoH competition. In addition to slop, they can also eat strawberries and blueberries. Since Da'Vonne was also a Have-Not for week 1 last year, she's basically been on slop for the majority of her time in the Big Brother house across two seasons.

FUN FACTS

-Paulie is the 26th HG to win HoH and PoV in the same week. His brother Cody also did it, as did Frank and James.

-For the past six seasons, the second PoV winner either got evicted the following week (Dominic, Jeremy and Devin) or finished in fourth place (Britney, Shane and Johnny Mac).
