The Terror on AMC
Just watched the first ep of S2. The premise is completely different. Last season it was about 2 British ships stuck in Arctic ice in the 19th Century. This season it's about Japanese-American fishermen and families living on Terminal Island in San Pedro,CA. ( I've been there. There is no possibility that any outdoor scenes could be filmed there now representing 1941.) Then Pearl Harbor happens and some are sent off to interment camps. That happens near the end of ep 1 so haven't seen many scenes from that environment. But before that some believe that the "old spirits" from the "old country" have followed them and are causing trouble. That's where "The Terror" comes in. With a suicide, a blinding, and a drowning in ep 1, all mysterious, there may be something to those fears. It's pretty interesting, with good, unknown to me, mostly Japanese actors, with a lot of sub-titles, but few 'slow spots'.

This is getting better..the way Chester fooled the Japanese pilot into showing that he wasn't a real ,"old spirit" was interesting.
