A few fan theories on a Sunday morning....

Tonight is the POV ceremony, took place yesterday. Of course the big question is what Brendon will do with his POV ? He has only two choices; take himself off the block leaving his 'beloved' Rachel to face the vote against an at present unknown player picked by Dani.... or use the POV to take Rachel off the block leaving himself to face the vote...etc. etc.

Why do we think Rachel's game will become SO much better when Brendon leaves? Rachel wouldn't have the 3 "friends" she has if it wasn't for Brendon reeling her in all the time. Rachel wants more than anything to be liked. to have "girlfriends" . when Bren is around he makes her worse not better by piling on, Bi**hing at her, she can't really lash out at him so she lashes out at the others. When he is not IN the house she won't be so worried about impressing him. If she wants to drink and get rowdy she will and that will be funny as often as Bi**hy (maybe more funny than Bi**hy). She has the huge insecurity thing, holding on to "her man" so she has to be on the lookout for whatever anyone else says or does because they might be trying to get between her and..... With him gone that factor is gone. I think she will significantly calm down after a few days, and she will strive to be "liked" therfore behave better generally, and BE more likable, and more liked, reducing her angst, making her even more social in a normal way.... Not that she won't be a Bi**h sometimes but I don't think she is as likely to sh%t in her own nest as badly if he is GONE. We don't know... we haven't seen it yet.

This scenario assumes that Dani will pick Jordan to replace Brendon or Rachel. I'm not so sure that she will be the pick...... ...but it's not unreasonable either if we assume that Jordan is more 'beloved' with the other players than either Brendon or Rachel, insuring that one of them is booted.

Dani is still in bed as of 11:45 am PDT.....she must have had a long night. :lol: Most of the rest of them are up. They don't have anything to get ready for today since there is no 'live" show tonight.

You know, suddenly I don't feel so bad about my messy house.... And I am so not worried about color schemes...


There is a big following for this show but I confess I don't get it. What is it I'm missing?

I'm not sure you're "missing" anything, I could say the same thing about Glee......but I theorize that BB appeals to people who like to witness interpersonal "conflicts" or sociological interactions on any level, without getting involved themselves. As for me, there was a time....a looong time ago, when I thought I wanted to be a sociologist but ~ 6 semesters at USC in that field of study dissuaded me of that idea quite firmly, for various reasons I won't bore you with. Nevertheless the field is still interesting as long as I can remain distanced from it, and the BB experience gives a microcosm of a lot of sociological "theory", using the word loosely.

On another level the fans, both men and women, like to see pretty people (those that the various fans deem to be pretty) live, eat, dress, compete, and just hang out. All fans have their favorites, the women fans are usually the only ones that will admit to their favorites. This season it's Jeff and Brendon, although Brendon fans are rather defensive because of his misogynistic attitude toward Rachel his fiancee. As for the male fans Daniele is our favorite this season and was mine when she was on season 9.

Of course the availabilty of the live feeds adds to fan interest greatly because you can be "in" the BB house 24/7 if you so choose. This is unlike any other reality show where you have to depend on once a week recorded viewing.

So that's about all I can say about it, it's not rocket science, more like "playing in the sandbox science".... :lol:
