Battlestar Galactica prequel

Note that this isn't on the SyFy channel until next year, but I'll try to watch the condensed version online. The trailer looks like more of the same 'space battles' rather than the character driven plots of Caprica which was why I thought Caprica was more interesting than the original and second BG.

I think it is just a webisode thing now...but the first episode is available to watch now. I think I might give it a try.

I just watched the first two eps. Better than I expected but breaks no new ground within the whole BG milieu. Ensign Adama's squadron mates seem to be jaded, remorseful, snarky, and generally of low morale which doesn't bode well for the command competency. They have coed 'steam showers' which may have been 'borrowed' from Star Ship Troopers, and the civilian woman that they take on the secret mission is okay. It would have been nice if they could have brought back Alessandra Torresani from Caprica somehow, but since her psyche/mind was incorporated into the early, sentient Cylon I suppose that would be stretching it.

Craig and I watching this. Young, cocky Adama...this is great!

Liked it. Plenty of action and Adama living and learning. Was good.

I liked it too. Not too sure about Craig. Is this the only movie? Would there be a series? I just didn't feel that was a good stopping point. If you know what I mean..

This movie was a 10 episode web series. Now it has been shown as a Syfy movie event. There are no known plans to make it a tv series. Although the idea was kicked around and Jane Espensen, for one, thinks it's still a possibility.

I thought it was pretty good. I like these prequels , Caprica, etc., better than the original BS and its more recent version. One interesting thing is at the end where we see a Cylon "evolving" into having a humanoid type face which reminded me of the robot faces in I Robot and of course leading up to the ultimate version, Trisha Helfer.....
