The Magicians

Don't know anything about the books but it sounds like an interesting premise and a worthy project to 'fill the shoes' of Being Human and Warehouse 13.

It looks pretty good but we could also say that it's a variation on people with super powers such as telekinesis, as with Skye on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a current example.

The first episode of the 2 hr. premire was the same one shown last month but the second hour was new.  This is one of the SyFy channels best new shows. Good cast, interesting plots and premises. Has sort of a Harry Potter vibe but more adult.

30 years old and still convincing as a teenager or college student....

I liked the first shows I saw too.

This remains very good. About the best series SyFy has had recently. Good 'magical' concepts and types of magic I've never heard of. As well as injections of humor as when one of the 15 students who had committed suicide in the 'bottomless' pond, rose up and gave the finger to Alice and the other guy as they walked away.

Then Alice discovers that her brother disappeared when a spell he was casting got out of control and he was 'vaporized' and when she casts a spell to 'rematerialize' him, he does come back as an out of control monster and they have to vaporize him again. Boy oh boy, this magic stuff can be dangerous !

Meanwhile, Olivia grows her fan boy base....I'm pretty sure.

Renewed for S3 and Alice/Olivia is back before the end of S2 by means of some complex magic involving a 'chamber', a 'shade', and explosions.... ,   but she has had a rough ride this season.

Glad to hear of the renewal...and that Alice will still be there.

So the season finale had the required cliff hangers, Alice is being hunted by the "Lampreys" whatever they are... That's a type of eel, but these are probably 'worse'. Eliot and Margo are in the castle awaiting a siege by the Fairies, all the magic has been turned off by The God's Plumber, but Julia discovers that she still has some magic available. So....set up well for S3 !

You are on her radar now.

She has a lot of fan boys so I must join the "crowd". It's interesting that Summer Bishil who plays Julia, seems to have more fan girls than fan boys, judging by the tweets, but Olivia is the opposite.

The writers room has a new kitten which is distracting the writers working on S3, according to Sera Gamble the creator and exec. prod.

I was thinking that Margo (Summer Bishil) was Hale's wife but I guess she is 'just' Queen of Fillory.

Summer and Olivia try some "real" magic.
