Star Trek
It's good. Go see it. Winona Ryder....watch for her. Or wait until the credits to know she is in it, like I did...

Re: Star Trek
I saw it today too. It was great...even the parts that will drive the Trekkie "purists" nuts.

Re: Star Trek
What parts are those ?
My main questions are why is there a massive, vertical walled canyon across Iowa ? And was that Corvette properly stored and maintained ? Otherwise all the rubber components would have been rotted, the engine seized, etc., etc.

Re: Star Trek
The relationships between the young crew members were not all exactly as I envisioned them to be. I don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't seen it yet. And I'm not complaining. This is a re-invention that was badly needed. This is just the beginning of years more of Star Trek.

Re: Star Trek
Yes, the Uhura/Spock thing was new. Abrams already has two more planned. :D

Re: Star Trek
I got to see it today!
I loved it and by the way I am a purist...
This is an alternate universe type thing...so we do see how they all got together but the future now is full of change... This is not the past that led to what we know...this is the past that will lead us to how it will be...Abrams was brilliant!
I can't wait to see this again!
I didn't see Wynona..or did I... Craig and I both thought we saw the orginal Chekov and the original Uhura in the awards assembly scene...did you?

Re: Star Trek
Winona played the young Spock's mother. I didn't actually notice the old Checkov/Uhura in the awards scene. Guess I'll have to catch it again.

Re: Star Trek
Going to see it a second time on Thursday! :whee: I never do that anymore.
Penny, go see it while it's still on a big screen. This is way to fun not to go...even if you aren't a scifi lover.
Besides, Simon Pegg is in it.

Re: Star Trek
I LOVED this!!! I'm a TNG fan myself so the character changes didn't bother me a bit. I loved the guy who played Kirk. I think they should do a new show with these actors.
Hey did you notice the surface of Vulcan when the planet was being evacuated? Look familiar??
YEP, The Vulcan high counsel was IN THE POD CHAMBER! For whatever reason they CGI'ed a bunch of the rocks into the landscape. But it's all the same one. There was a TNG episode filed at the rocks too. :)
TWO MORE, Banjo!? I can't wait!
