Making of Red Dawn

As some of you may know, Michigan is giving tax credits to film makers.....and so we are attracting many new movies to our area. The most recent is the remake of "Red Dawn" a fictional story of the Russians invading the USA.

Much of the movie has been filmed in the Detroit area,where the movie takes place. However, they are filiming in Brighton tonight at the Mt.Brighton Ski Lodge. There are using a hill there, and have burned out a bunch of old trees......we drove by earlier tonight after dinner, and saw all the lighting trucks. They will probably film later tonight....it would be fun to watch but I doubt we will go back, even though it is less than two miles away.

The movie stars Jeffery Dean Morgan (Ghost Denny from Grey's Anatomy).....it sure would be fun to run into him somewhere in town......

Anyway, that's all the movie news for now........I'll keep you posted, just like banjo and the movies in his area.
You can google Re-make of Red Dawn filmed in Genoa Township (or Brighton) and you will see the pictures of them preparing the trees for the scene.......

Try "Hooters"...that's where most of the stars I've seen head on their time off. :D

Humm....Hooters? Never heard that about local crews. They prefer downtown bars.

We don't have a Hooters here in Brighton.....a few Irish Pubs, but no Hooters.

This Remake of Red Dawn is the Chinese invading Detroit.....we drove by the set again today and saw remenants of last nights shooting.......they used some Pyrotechnics....as we saw many empty containers of explosive gas.
