Conan the Barbarian
Yet another remake which doesn't follow Robert E. Howard's original concept very closely, if at all, but I suppose the subject matter lends itself to varied literary license.

Howard's original concept was that ~10,000 years or so ago, North Africa was a green and verdant place with advanced civilizations, long since vanished leaving no trace.
But Jason Momoa is a good choice to play Conan. He's good in Game of Thrones too.
"Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet."
— Robert E. Howard, The Phoenix on the Sword, 1932
