BB 13 week4 day 5

Shelly has been in the kitchen for an hour talking to Brendon and Rachel. They are the only ones there, the rest are still in bed, so they can talk more frankly. Shelly is trying to show Rachel what she thinks she, Rachel, is doing wrong in her game play. It turns out that Rachel wants to quit the game after Brendon is booted tonight, but realizes that would violate her contract and she would lose money. So she will stay but will give up emotionally. Shelly is trying to read her the riot act and to buck up and to change her game play to enhance her reputation within the house which is as low as you can get.

But Shelly isn't getting very far with Rachel. Shelly is a business woman back home and fairly high up in her company as fans have discovered. Therefore she is used to dealing with business associates and customers in a logical and positive manner and expect them to do the same. She is coming to realize, reluctantly, that she is dealing with a dysfunctional person in Rachel, and on a different level with Brendon.

Rachel has launched into a long complaint about how everyone is against her in and out of the house. "No one knows how it feels to be called the biggest villain on TV".

Then she tells Shelly to leave her alone to play the game as she wants to. Shelly says, "Okay I'll leave you alone". What fans can't understand is why Shelly is investing the energy in trying to snap Rachel out of it. It's more or less agreed that it's just in Shelly's nature. It can't be a game play strategy. Enhancing Rachel's game play benefits no one.


Now Jordan has come into the kitchen and is taking the same tack as Shelly. This may be interesting ultimately, but for now it looks like a dead end to "help" Rachel.

Shelly and Jordan are alone in the kitchen now. "I don't tolerate people well who have those attitudes", Shelly says. Then predicts that Rachel will make a big "let me go , I want to go" scene today. "I'm beyond it. I've done my part." Did it sound like I was yelling at her ?" "No, you just sounded like a mom.", Jordan says.

I just realized I've been transcribing on the fly. :lol: I should go to the BB update sites and do it there, except there are enough women doing it there and some seem rather mean....


Oh well, it will be interesting to see how they edit tonight's show. There's a lot to include and the speculation is whether they will edit it to make R and B appear sympathetic to the mass CBS audience.

Oh-oh, now Brendon and Rachel are alone and Brendon is yelling at Rachel. This isn't uncommon, most women fans dislike this behavior a lot, understandably. He tells her why he's getting booted....the vote totals don't add up in his favor. Rachel wants assurances that he will make everything all right , somehow. Brendon can't give her that....and these two are getting married in September ?......good grief.....

FLASHBACK!!

Rachel is telling Shelly that she isn't going to compete any longer, that she does not care any more. This game is not for competitors, she and Brendon have learned their lesson.

She has Brendon and that's all she needs.

Rachel hasn't been able to get a job, etc.

Shelly tells her she's disappointed in her, that quitting is not attractive.

Brendon asks when did this game become more about manipulation and not competing.

Rachel says - why would anyone compete, it's so much less stress to not compete, to just sit around and drink beers.

Rachel & Shelly talking in the kitchen. Rachel is complaining that Dani is sending home a deserving player and those who don't deserve to be here are staying.

Shelly starts lecturing her that there are 14 different people in here that have different ways to play this game. She says Rach may not like the way the others are playing but it is ThEIR way and not necessarily hers.

Rach says that it's obvious that BB is not a game for competitors. She and Brendon have found this out the hard way. It happens every year that a floater makes it to the end. Someone who has just laid around had fun, drank beer, etc. Rach says she is not competing anymore, she is just going to be like everyone else.

Shelly tells her that is nonsense to play like that. She doesn't believe Rach could play this game without competing. (she is really trying to pump Rach up)

Rach says she doesn't care anymore.

Brend says that Rach is just trying to win a honeymoon for them is all.

Rach tells him that she is not even going to win that for them. She says the others might as well keep her in the game because she is not trying to win anything now.

Shelly tries to give her a guilt trip by saying people are out there watching this that might have given Rach a job but they won't now because of her attitude.

Rach says she doesn't care. She hasn't had a job in over a year and it's because of this show.

Feed Freeze.

Brend asks Rach when this show became about something other than competing.

Rach says it's obviously never been about competing.

Shelly tells her again how disappointed she is in Rach's new attitude.

Rach tells Shelly that they have tried for 2 years to compete and win this game. She says up until yesterday, when Dani got the whole house upset with her (R) she thought Brendon had a fighting chance to stay. Rach says now she has no hope and she knows everyone will get her (R) out too.

Shelly asks if Rach feels that strongly that she is going to walk out the door with Brendon?

Rach says, no, I wish. Rach tries to explain that they have competed so hard, they have won so many competitions, protected 4 other people and now it's ruined.

Brend says Shelly if it's all about competitions, then why would anyone vote to keep Jordan here?

Shelly says they will have to ask the others about that.

Rach raises her voice a tiny bit and says Shelly you have a vote. She says no one will stand up for themselves and go against the house. She says it's nothing against Jordan but they won't go against the house. She says it's about doing what you have to do and stay in the middle of the game. She says and guess who those are? Floaters. She goes through the past several season and other than ED, they have been floaters. She says if anyone asks her how to get through the game of BB, she is going to say, lay around, laugh at their jokes, and float to the end.

Shelly is upset and is telling her that there are people with different ways of playing the game. She tells Rach that you can't have 14 people going all out on competitions all the time. She tells it's wrong to discount peoples brains and social skills. She tells Rach that if she wants a game that's all about competitions then she needs to go on that kind of show. She tells Brendon that she thought he was smarter than that.

Jordon and Lawon whispering and listening to Rachel, Brendon, Shelly are talking -




Rachel telling Shelly that no one will go against the house because they can't stand on their own. If this game was about competitors why are they getting rid of Jordon instead of Brendon.

Shelly says that she can stand on her own!

Rachel says, it's not about competitors, it's about being in the middle, floaters.

Starting in season 8, has been won by people floating by in the game.

If she can say one thing about people getting into BB, that she would tell them to float through, don't win comps, and don't open their mouth

Rachel says that B is not a game for competitors. No one wants to play the game, they just want to backstab, lie and not compete.

Shelly says that it's so sad that they can only stop and waddle in this right now and they should be cheering each other on

Rachel - we've tried for 2 seasons, every single comp we've fought, 100%, until yesterday when Dani came downstairs and started that huge fight, but Dani ruined Brendon's chance to stay in this game. I was so sad and down when I was looking out for someone and it turned around on me.



Shelly - did you feel good doing what you were doing?

Rachel - yes, I didn't want it to be a big deal, but she (Dani) came downstairs and started this whole ruckus, this whole house, and starts yelling about why (Rachel) cares about what (Dani) puts in her HOH blog, and yelling at my fiance, and now I feel like I've ruined my one shot at having Brendon say so I don't feel any point or have to justify

Shelly - I don't expect you to justify, do you feel that strong about walking out the door with him?

Rachel - no, I wish I could but... I'd prefer to get my money. I don't care. I'm not trying to bring you down.

Shelly - you are not bringing me down, I just feel like you are not understanding

Rachel - I feel that YOU are not understanding, we've won (repeat of heart, 100%, comps, fighting) but where does it get you?


Shelly - well, lets see how far this other strategy gets you

Rachel - I don't care. I could go home next week and be happy. I'm going to jury so at least people have to be nice to me.




Brendon - if it's really about competition, then why will everyone vote to keep Jordon over me?

Shelly - you have to ask them,

Rachel - but you are one of the people voting, see, no one can stand on their own two feet

Shelly interrupts, I can stand on my own two feet! without a doubt!

Rachel - but that's the thing, no one will go against the house

Shelly, it's not fair to point that at everyone, you don't know their reasons

Rachel - why can't it be a 4-3 vote? It doesn't have to be a 6-1 vote but it is going to be because no one will put their neck out there for someone they believe in. That no one will stand up for themselves and go against the house and be a target.
I've never been scared to be a target, win a comp, 100% comp fights, (etc)

And - other people don't feel the same way. It's not about keeping competitors and you want to be right in the middle, and those people are floaters.

Why should anyone compete in the beginning?


Shelly says that is insulting, thats not how I played and other people -

Brendon - well, she's not talking about you -

Shelly - I understand that but it's not true

Rachel - it is

Shelly - everyone has a different role when they come into this game! Some people don't have the ability to play like you. That people have different personalities, different reasons, and that's why there are 14 different people from 14 different walks of life. Do you think it would be fun to have 14 of the same people? You have to have different types -

if you want to do that - then go on a competition show that's all about that!

That this is why it's this type of game, to have 14 different types of people. And it's insulting that you say that everyone who does not play the game YOUR way ..but then to give up what your game is, and say everyone else's game SUCKS??

Rachel - I didn't say that anyone's game sucks, their game is way better than my game

Shelly - But you are discounting the entire function of this game, because the people that people YOU think shouldn't win, shouldn't win???

Rachel - no!

Shelly - then, by God, step up and win the damn game! Get your (??) out of the ground, and get out there and

Rachel - I don't want to win the game...

Shelly - then- then - then - why are you HERE? Are you telling me you walked in the door NOT to win the game?

Rachel - no

Shelly (pointing at Brendon) -he's gonna be your fiance when you get home. He's gonna love you just as much...

Shelly - God - you guys don't LET people care about you. That's part of the problem.

Rachel (still in that 3 year old tone of voice) no...


Meanwhile - this whole time, Lawon and Jordon have been listening in, whispering, and saying "yeah!" to all of Shelly's points

Some fans may be getting a little paranoid.....this one makes some good points about what the producers are facing now with Rachel's threats to quit.....but we have no evidence that this scenario is playing out.

obviously the psych has been there talking to her already and is not far away I'm sure. they need to think about this...

I know production is scrambling because it screws up their story board, and one doesn't know if she bolted would Brendon bolt and not stay for his next week that he is unaware of now. this is really a powder keg.

You KNOW Alison is there, the psych doc is there, the phone is ringing and the money folks may be wanting to know if AG is gonna get this worked out... one assumes since Julie is married to Les, he's aware.

There are a lot of people like B/R, who find each other and actually do make it in life in their own messed up way. The BB house is often an excellent microcosm of the types of people who live their lives out every day in the real world.

There are so many personality types, and yes B/R that is exactly why you were cast again. That is why D/D, and J/J were cast again. All 3 sets are on opposites sides of a triangle if you want to look at it that way.

Big Brother is all about exploring and exploiting those extreme differences in a closed environment.

This is the test tube that B/R were willing to climb back into after having already suffered the effects of the previous test.
