'Big Brother 13' Spoilers: Who Won the Week 8 Power of Veto?

It was a very hot Saturday on Big Brother 13, and it looks like, to avoid having the six remaining HGs compete in 100 degree weather, this week's Power of Veto competition was pushed back to late in the day. For the first time all season, every HG gets to play.
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 13 spoilers.
Porsche is the HoH and she opened Pandora's Box, which resulted in this week being played in pairs like the first three weeks of the season. Jordan and Rachel were nominated while Porsche is paired with Kalia and Adam is with Shelly.
Rachel won the Power of Veto.
Well, that was expected. It was an individual competition like weeks 2 and 3. It was an endurance competition similar to the banana HoH from week 1 where the HGs had to hold onto dummies of their original partners. Adam was out first, followed by Jordan, Shelly, Porsche and then Kalia. Gee how convenient that the competition is similar to something Rachel won earlier this season. It also means the whole "pairs" twist for the week is completely pointless except for the fact that it lets Rachel save Jordan too.
So nowJordan gets to ride Rachel's coattails for once instead of riding Jeff's coattails. She seems to acknowledge the criticism, though she also tries to argue that she did win some competitions after Jeff left in season 11. Um, the girl needs a reality check. The only things she won after Jeff left the first time were the second part of the final HoH competition (where she only had to beat Natalie) and the third part of the final HoH competition (where she only had to beat Kevin). So the ONLY competitions she won after Jeff left were ones where she only had to compete against one other person, and they were some of the weakest competitors ever.
But anyway, congratulations, Big Brother 13 production, your twist did exactly what you thought it would do, which is to let both veterans stay in the game. This should be called the Jordan Twist, since it was obviously designed for the sole purpose of keeping her in the game this week.
It means they'll be coming off the block and Adam and Shelly will be nominated. Sure, Shelly hasn't won anything and is easier to beat, but Jordan and Rachel are purely personal players at this point, so Shelly turning on Jeff will mean she's going to be evicted. Rachel and Jordan are certainly going to be smug and obnoxious about it all week. The way it works is that R & J will vote to evict Shelly. Even if Kalia votes to evict Adam it will still be two votes to one and Shelley will be evicted. Porsche as HOH can vote only in case of a tie, which in this case there isn't. Porsche wants to get Rachel out above all else, probably a better strategy at this point than evicting Adam first, but the "all-girl final four" may work against that.
It has to sting for the newbies that both of the vets are safe solely because of the silly Pandora's Box twist, though blame could be given to Porsche for incorrectly pairing them. If she'd decided to pair Rachel with Shelly and Adam with Jordan, then right now it could be Adam and Jordan on the block, and theoretically, Shelly and Kalia could vote out Jordan.
As for Rachel, this is the first ever individual Power of Veto she's won, so good for her. It also bumps her up to six all-time competition wins, putting her in a tie for fourth place with Jeff and season 6 and 7's James Rhine. Janelle, Daniele and Brendon are ahead of her, but if Rachel can win oen more competition, she'll be tied with her fiancee.
And now that Rachel is safe and guaranteed to make the final five, she also beats Brendon's performance from last season, when he finished sixth.
FUN FACT: If Shelly does go home without winning anything, she'll be one of the few people who've made it to the final six without a win. The only others to do it are Jack from season 4 and Ollie from season 10 who also finished sixth, plus Dr. Will from season 7, where he made it all the way to fourth place without ever winning a competition.
