Enchanted
Ok, it has been along time since I walked out of a theatre with a big smile on my face.....In one word, Enchanted is "delightful." Sure it is a fairy tale, chick flick, but is absolutely adorable and very funny. I loved the interactions between the cartoon characters who come to life vs. the "real" people in New York City.....Patrick Dempsey is charming as the divorced father with a six year old daughter, and the girl who plays the "maiden" (Amy Adams) is great as a real life cartoon character. Ok, so it is the chipmunk "Pip" that really steals the show.....
I thought is was great entertainment and well worth my $8.75 (ouch) to see it. Kelly went with me as loved it as well. Not sure how you guys will like it.....there was maybe one guy for every 10 girls in the theatre.
I dare you to see it and not go home singing the main song "I am dreaming of a true love's kiss".........or at least humming it in your head.

Re: Enchanted
Off-hand, do you know what it's rated? Do you think it would be appropriate for a 9-year old (and me, of course :) )

Re: Enchanted
It's rated PG. Its a Disney movie and my guess is that it's a delightful family movie...but I haven't seen it.

Re: Enchanted
The lead actress was on Buffy the Vampire Slayer once, she played Tara's cousin when her family came to take her home. Haven't heard a thing from her since...she has certainly nabbed herself a plum role with this.

Amy Adams (the lead actress) was in two films in 2005 that I
loved..."The Wedding Date" (where she played Debra Messing's sister)
and "June Bug" a supporting role in a small independent film for which
some critics thought she should have gotten considered for an oscar
nomination.

Re: Enchanted
Well, she is certainly getting good press from this...they are comparing her to a young Julie Andrews.

Re: Enchanted
I want to see that movie. My daughter told me what TV show Amy was in but I can't remember what it was. I will find out and let you all know!

Re: Enchanted
She's had a couple of episodes on The Office and on Smallville. I don't think she's been a regular in a series yet.

Re: Enchanted
I love Amy Adams! I was wondering how this movie was going to go, usually if cynical Richard Roeper likes something in the chick flick catagory it's a good sign...he did and I'm fighting off the impulse to go see it, I already have six movies lined up in Dec that are must see's.

Re: Enchanted
My most "must see" will be P.S.I Love You with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler.....yes, AND James Marsters! And then August Rush...needs a little suspension of disbelief (like Enchanted, pribably) but then is going to have wonderful music....and Maybe Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp (depending on reviews) . But Enchanted is going to make it on my list (and with the daughter visiting from Seattle...we will probably get to quite a few movies (one of her favorite things to do on vacation as she is out at sea a lot and feels she misses out doing on things like that) .
