Tin Man
Did anyone else watch SciFi's Tin Man? It was actually pretty good! A nice family movie. An interesting new take on the old tale.
If you missed it, all 6 hours will be on this Sunday starting about 4 or 5 pm. Check your TV listings.

Re: Tin Man
I missed it as well. If the rain hits this weekend, I will watch it. I think I may tape it for later.

Re: Tin Man
I did watch it all. Found it mildly amusing...not great...make that...not even good acting. And I couldn't help wondering why they wanted to mess with a classic and even more why was it called "Tin Man" when it so obviously wasn't his story??!!
Still,as you said, it was "family" entertainment and you could watch it without embaressment. So something to be said for that, I guess. IMHO

Re: Tin Man
I watched the first episode. It was better than I expected, if not great, but the main reason was it reminded me of Stephen King's Dark Tower series in some respects while not being at all like it in detail.
Those of us who are Dark Tower fans are hoping that someday it will be made into a TV series or movie(s), but with 7 books it would be quite a project to do successfully and is not a straight forward "horror" work that people would expect from King.

Re: Tin Man
I did see parts of the first part and watched again this afternoon. It's just not calling to me. Yes...messing with a classic is not such a good idea. It was interesting but...It would have been better to be a different story than a different angle on a classic story. I bet I'm not making sense here.... But...I'm trying to say.. it should have been an all new story....that would have gotten my interest...

Hmmm... The Wizard of Oz wasn't his story either... Maybe they should have titled it "DG Goes Home"?

Ah, but it is an all new story... It takes place many generations after Dorothy visited OZ... There were lots of similarities because it takes place in the same place... But there wasn't an Auntie Em or ruby slippers...
The only thing I didn't really care for was the lead actress... IMHO they could have picked someone better...

Re: Tin Man
The Tin Man reminded me of the Gunslinger, the main character in the Dark Tower series.
