‘Two and a Half Men’ Adding Young Female Character: Report
by Adam Buckman | May 29, 2013 at 1:51 PM | TV News, two and a half men
The cast of "Two and a Half Men" were in harmony when CBS issued this publicity shot two years ago. Now, though, young Angus T. Jones (left) is reportedly due to be replaced by a young female character What does that mean ? A pre-teen as Angus was when it started ? A teenager would be awkward, living with two older guys. This might work but it probably won't make me watch again.
CBS is reportedly shaking up “Two and a Half Men” by adding a young female character to replace “Half” man Angus T. Jones, according to this story on Deadline.com.
The story has no word on who might be cast as the character, who reportedly will be a heretofore unknown daughter of the late Charlie Harper. Harper, of course, was the character played by Charlie Sheen on the hit sitcom before his public meltdown and subsequent firing from the show in 2011.
The addition of this new character is a major shakeup for the show as it prepares for its 11th season next fall. Jones, 19, has been on the show as the “Half” man in the title for all of its 10 seasons. But last year, he was publicly critical of the show and, as a result, he’s reportedly been demoted as a series regular.
The Deadline.com story says the new character is expected to “fill the void” left by Jones. What hasn’t been reported: Whether Jones will turn up at least in a recurring capacity in the upcoming season.
In addition, what will become of the show’s title now that a young female character appears poised to move in with Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) and Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher)? Can it still be called “Two and a Half Men“?
There was no immediate confirmation or comment either from CBS or producer Warner Bros. Television on Wednesday afternoon about the “Two and a Half Men” shakeup. Stay tuned.

Re: 2 1/2 Men news
They may as well put the lid on it and call it done. It's veered so far from the original premise that it's no longer the same show, or worth watching.
