Bladerunner
This isn't exactly a review, as such, but I did get the 5 disc Ultimate collection of Bladerunner. It comes in a silver box like a handgun storage/carrying box. The 5 DVDs are in one section, a 3-D pic of Harrison Ford, the kind that changes scenes as you tilt it, a bunch of documentation that I haven't looked at yet, a model of the flying police car, and a silver, styleized Unicorn. If you don't know the significance of the Unicorn then you are a bad, bad Bladerunner fan ! !
I don't know when I'll get around to watching it. The DVDs include all versions that were made and/or not shown; alternate endings, etc.

Re: Bladerunner
I didn't feel the need for the ultimate collection (I didn't really
care about the documentation or the models), so I just got the 4 disc
"Collector's Edition". I'd be interested to know what is on the 5th
disc that I didn't get in my set.
I have watched a little of it already, but since it is one of 18 DVDs
or DVD sets that I have gotten since mid December, I have no idea whan
I will get around to watching all of this collection.

Re: Bladerunner
I just finished watching disc 1, the final director's cut. I don't remember all the small details from the original theater-release version to compare them, but the ending is definitely different. Next I'll watch the "making of..." disc.

Re: Bladerunner
I watched the final director's cut last week (Christmas present).
I still prefer the version in which Harrison Ford does "voice overs" during critical scenes. It just seems to make the movie flow better.

Re: Bladerunner
Five discs? Wow, thats a lot of Bladerunner. I do love the movie, but wow. Were the extra disks worth it? May add this to the wishlist.

Re: Bladerunner
I don't remember what I paid for the set, it wasn't as high as the typical boxed set of an HBO series season......and I still haven't watched all of them....
