One of the first genius child actors and probably the greatest. Her image was licensed to appear on many different consumer products in a time when such things were rare, other than cowboy actors. I first became aware of her when seeing her picture and name on various things owned by older cousins. Many of her films are available on DVD.

Even tho I grew up in the 50's her movies must have still been shown on tv because I saw every one. Hard to pick a favorite. She was always so good. I do have a soft spot for Captain January, The Little Colonel and Wee Willie Winkie tho.

I grew up watching everything she did. And when I was little and my blond hair was natural mom fixed my hair in the famous Shirley Temple curls. It was a look that made any little girl appear adoreable.
She was a great ambassador too. I mourn her passing but she had a good life and was a good person as well.
