The Amazing Race season 25

This season I'll be rooting for Bethany Hamilton the surfer girl that had her left arm bitten off by a shark a few years ago. There have been leg amputees on TAR in past seasons but this is the first season for an arm amputee.

Bethany and her husband came in 5th out of 11 on the first competition. Not great but good enough. That digging in the beach sand for the treasure chest really foiled 3 of the teams, even though they were within 2-3 ft. of the actual locations (prod. put up arrows showing the audience where they were). So when all 3 of the bottom teams gave up and decided to take the 4 hr. penalty at the next days start time, they still had to race back to the finish line and the two hottie realtors from Miami were the last to arrive and therefore were the first team to be booted. Too bad.....production always casts for some eye candy and they were that, so now that aspect is severely reduced. How smart they would have been in subsequent competitions.....who knows ?.....That particular comp was extremely physical and even the beef cake guys were having a hard time.

It's too early to tell how accurate his rankings are (#11 has already been booted) and even though the dentists (#1) seem competent, I find them arrogant and annoying.

With the season wrapping up next Friday, this new twist is rather mild because there will still only be the usual 3 teams to battle for the million $. I hope that Bethany and her husband can pull off the win. Playing basketball with one arm was pretty impressive this week.

Bethany and Adam had the lead going into the final challenge but she took too long in the shipping container search and the food research scientists pulled off the unlikely win with the dentists second and Adam and Bethany 3rd.  The wrestlers were the 4th team to be eliminated during the finale which was karma because they were annoyed that the scientists had survived last weeks non-elimination leg.

Next season starts in February also and should be interesting with 6 teams of dating partners and 5 teams who will be a "blind date" and won't meet their partners until the beginning of the first leg. That should be wild with at least a couple of totally incompatible teams bickering at each other from day one.
