The first episode was okay. Not terribly exciting but keeps your attention. Anna Gunn has a good role. The series is only 10 eps and if the boys death is the subject for all 10 then a lot of details remain to be revealed. If True Detective can make this concept successful, I guess this one can too....
David Tennant as the cynical, brooding detective is fairly annoying. I guess he's supposed to be....

Re: Gracepoint
There seems to be more overt animosity between Ellie and The Bossman than in the British version. Otherwise, so far...it's the same (except for Nick Nolte is now the Naturalist sharing time with kids when he used to be the guy they got newspapers to deliver from) .

Re: Gracepoint
Never saw the British version so have no conflicts over roles. I guess Tennant was the same character in both versions ?

Wow ! that was quite a finale. I don't think anyone saw that coming ! It had looked like the conclusion of the case might be rather mundane. they would find the killer among all the suspects through the series and that would be that. But no ! they really threw a ringer in there and we'll remember it for a long time !

Re: Gracepoint
I watched the end too. I wanted to see if they made good on their promise that this would not be a copy of the British version. They did a fine job. I was really surprised.
