I'll watch....at least the first ep. It looks interesting but M. Night Shyamalan does not have a good rep for really 'wrapping up' the basic concepts in a lot of his projects, The Sixth Sense probably being his best....

Re: Wayward Pines
Okay, now we're getting somewhere. It only took until ep 5 to do it, I'm surprised. So Wayward Pines is in the 41st Century ! Now that's some original S-F thinking. For now only the kids know the truth and apparently must begin breeding soon in order to start rebuilding the human race. This opens up some good plot lines and I'll be sure to always watch from now on.

Yes, we are hooked. I still don't think we know all there is to know about the "Abbies" and how they came to be but I am satisfied that they didn't drag the big underlying theme out forever.

Yes, 2,000 years isn't long enough for regular humans to devolve into the "abbies" according to evolutionary theory so there must be some sort of 'lab experiments' that got out of control. That's the usual reasons behind that type of SF scenario.

She raises some interesting questions. The time travel angle may have to be true if the whole logic is to be preserved. I assume that the time travel, if any, and the suspended animation techniques were developed in the late 21st Century, the quarters dated 2095 give credence to that. Civilization must have still been operating normally at that time....
