BB 17 7-17 Day 30 Empty BB 17 7-17 Day 30

Post  Banjo 2015-07-17, 13:41

So we are at the not quite 1/3 point. (98 days total) and it's an all-girl HOH. Shelli for the second time and Liz/Julia for the first time. Jeff is gone as expected and Vanessa's ranting paranoia is expected to provide more entertainment this week. Meanwhile Austin's infatuation with Liz is getting creepy and we think she should 'tone it down' more than she has. She says she is 'repulsed' but then gets in bed with him. How will Julia handle all this ?

'Big Brother 17' Recap: Jeff vs. James in the Week 3 Eviction
John Kubicek

Senior Writer, BuddyTV

It's time to evict another houseguest on Big Brother 17. During Vanessa and Austin's HoH week, we saw the emergence of the Sixth Sense, an alliance built entirely around protecting the twins, and we saw Jeff get thrown under the bus by people he thought were his friends, providing Vanessa with the reasons she needed to backdoor him.

Jeff and James are on the block with one set to be evicted, but who will win the next HoH and will the next BB Takeover be more interesting than just a bunch of random and pointless Gronk parties?

BUT FIRST...this is my Big Brother 17 live blog!

Jeff's Campaign

After Jeff goes on the block, he's the target. But he's cocky enough to believe that he can fight back and stay. James plays it cool and acts like he doesn't even care to let Jeff blow up his own game. Jeff's brilliant strategy is to try to get the majority of the 11 votes up for grabs.

Jeff tries to get Austin and Liz, having no clue that Austin/Judas betrayed him. Jason and Clay decide that James is more trustworthy, but Meg would rather take out James because he's a more likeable pawn. As Da'Vonne said, Meg is the Pretty Pawn and she doesn't want James stealing her thunder.

Jeff backtracks to Clay, saying that he would trust him and Shelli together. Clay is swayed and wants to believe in second chances. He has a heart-to-heart with Shelli too and starts crying to her. She's isn't so sure if he's being genuine. Later, Jeff admits to Jackie that he faked his tears to try to manipulate Shelli because she's an emotional player.

A Love Triangle

The twins switch again and Liz returns to the house. She's the dumber, girlier one while Julia is all business and a little bossy. Austin likes Liz and gets extremely jealous, even when Steve jokingly says "I love you" to her. Liz also kind of likes Austin too. Jeff tries to win over Liz's vote by cuddling with her. Under the covers, he tells her that he knows about the Twin Twist to try to protect her. She denies it.

Austin walks in on Jeff and Liz under the covers in the bedroom and it sends him into a bit of a blind rage. He vents to Audrey and Vanessa, claiming that Jeff is "attacking Liz." He's angry that Liz would even allow Jeff into her bed. This is so petty and high school. Austin even says he might sacrifice his game to help Liz because of the emptiness in his heart. Um, doesn't he have a girlfriend back home? Well...he did. But something tells me she's not so happy about knowing Austin's heart is empty.

The Live Eviction

James loves everyone and calls Meg a "smoke bomb." Jeff tries to act cool, but he comes across as a tool. He even says "At the end of the day," which is a personal pet peeve of mine on this show.

Jackie votes to evict...James
Austin and Judas vote to evict...Jeff (but he may regret it)
John votes to evict...James
Meg votes to evict...Jeff (sadly)
Clay votes to evict...Jeff (sadly)
Shelli votes to evict...Jeff (unfortunately)
Steve votes to evict...James (WTF?)
Liz votes to evict...James (WTF???)
Jason votes to evict...Jeff
Becky votes to evict...Jeff
Audrey votes to evict...Jeff

Jeff is evicted 7-4!

I watch the live feeds and those Steve and Liz votes are mind-boggling to me. I expect a lot of scrambling and confusion over who those four votes came from.

Jeff thinks Jackie will win it all and he explains that spending so little time with her was a strategy to create the illusion of distance. Julie Chen throws major shade at Jackie for floating and not playing the game at all. DAMN, JULIE! He has no regrets about flirting with Liz and says Austin was creepy. His mind is blown that Liz and Steve voted for him.

Goodbye Messages: Vanessa is kind of snotty. Austin reveals that he betrayed Jeff all week. Jeff isn't surprised at all about the twins. Hilariously, the twins say they're sorry for voting him out, even though they didn't.

The HoH Competition

This week is '90s Week. It's a simple quiz where they must watch a dance routines and then answer True or False questions about them. This is hella stupid.

Question 1: Steve, Jason, James and Clay are eliminated!
Question 2: Meg and Austin are eliminated!
Question 3: This is the end.

Liz and Shelli are the two HoHs!

Ugh, the same group is in power. Shelli gets a second reign and Liz has to deal with being HoH as twins. I hope James, Jason and Meg are ready to play in another BoB. It would be a lot more interesting if Liz was HoH with someone who DOESN'T know her secret.

After the competition, Julie asks a few questions to the HGs. It's a bunch of random, pointless nonsense. So is there no BB Takeover this week? Or is '90s Week all we get?

BB 17 7-17 Day 30 Empty Re: BB 17 7-17 Day 30

JohnnyMac seems to lead a "charmed life". He's nominated repeatedly, wins POV, takes himself off the block, repeat next week.

'Big Brother 17' Spoilers: Who Are the Week 4 Nominees?
Friday, July 17, 2015

John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

Shelli is in power once again on Big Brother 17 alongside the twins, Liz and Julia. For a second week in a row, the Sixth Sense alliance is in control and can do whatever they want, which probably means targeting the exact same people who've gone on the block for the first three weeks.

HoH Liz nominated Jackie and James.

HoH Shelli nominated Jason and John.

Just like two weeks ago, Shelli and Clay asked Johnny Mac to throw the Battle of the Block, this time so they can target Da'Vonne's BFF Jason. He seems to be the Sixth Sense's top target for some reason because they're all worried he would target either Clay and Shelli or Austin and Liz. However, after the nomination ceremony, Shelli told John that he should go out and try to win the Battle of the Block, which would hopefully force Liz to backdoor Audrey. Johnny Mac is playing a dangerous game, ratting everything to Shelli and Clay (even Steve approaching him for a Final 2 deal), but his ratting is really helping to turn Shelli against Audrey.

On Liz's side, she's a bit of a mess and didn't really want to nominate anyone. Presumably Becky is a backdoor option, solely because they all think she was one of the four votes to evict James and is lying to the house about it. James was just the only one left for her to put up.

It was a difficult night for Shelli and Liz as they talked to everyone and never seemed to fully agree on who to put up. They have so many deals with so many people that finding four people to nominate without hurting their games was difficult. And it didn't help them that Vanessa, Clay and Austin were all pushing their own personal agendas.

FUN FACTS

-John has been nominated four times in a row. There are only eight other HGs in the history of the show who have ever done that, including four from last season (Victoria, Nicole, Donny and Jocasta).

-This is the third nomination for Jason. It's also the second nomination for James and Jackie. Jackie and John were on opposite sides of the Battle of the Block in week 1 and three of last week's nominees are once again on the block.

-After four weeks, John, Jason, Steve, James, Jackie and Meg have all been nominated multiple times while Becky has been nominated once. Shelli, Clay, Audrey, Liz, Austin and Vanessa have never been nominated. Last season after four weeks, Derrick, Cody, Frankie and Christine were the only HGs who had never been nominated and they all made it to the Top 6.
