BB17 Day 37 7-27

Waiting now for results of the Veto nominations. It looks like Jason and Becky will be on the block with Becky as the pawn and Jason being evicted. This is bad strategy imho. Vanessa should have back doored Austin wherein he would very likely be evicted rather than Jason. There is a 'moral' component to that strategy other than just game play, and that is that it would be highly desirable to evict Austin before the evictees start going to the jury house where they sit out the rest of the season then form the jury that votes on the Final Two for the $500 k winner. The 'moral' component comes in if Liz is evicted later and has to go to the jury house with Austin already there and then have to fend off his advances for the rest of the season. This is a giant EWWWWW ! factor amongst the fans and we hope it doesn't happen.

Ever since Vanessa Rousso began to back off the House plans to target Austin Matelson she’s been in a mad scramble to find an alternative and more importantly, to her, a “reason!” Later today the Veto meeting arrives and overnight she fulfilled one of those requirements.

All day Sunday we watched as she started with a target and then reverse engineered an excuse out of it to get that person on the Block. After narrowing it down to Jackie, Jason, and Meg it seems Vanessa has made her choice.
Vanessa spent yesterday trying to convince Steve, John, and anyone else who would listen that it must have been Meg or Jason who won the Last Laugh power. John explained to her why it would have been Day or Audrey (it was Day), but Vanessa told him he was wrong. Now I don’t know if Vanessa actually believes her stories or if she just needs to convince others of it, but she’s a pretty terrible sleuth if it’s the former.
Jackie’s name was bounced around a few times, but Vanessa’s big concern her was she had made a “no Backdoors” deal with Jackie when they won HoH. Of course it’s worth noting that Vanessa also made an alliance deal with Jason as part of the 8-person “Dark Moon” group.
Things came together over night when Shelli, Clay, and Vanessa gathered in the Head of Household room. Flashback to 1:15 AM BBT 7/27 to watch. They’re discussing bringing Becky in and offering her a F4 deal so they can have her blessing to go against the BD Austin plan. How about this: tell Becky they won’t evict her if she goes along with the plan. Sheesh. Talks continue and Shelli expresses regret that they couldn’t be sending home James instead of Jason, but James isn’t an option due to BotB.
Jump forward to 1:45 AM BBT when Becky is brought up and the deal is offered. It’s during this talk that Becky tells Shelli, Clay, and Vanessa that thanks to James correcting Liz’s misspelling of Christine the pair won BotB. I’m sure Vanessa will use that against him another week.

After Vanessa gets Becky onboard with the plan to not BD Austin she brings up Austin who promises he’ll throw future comps and do whatever it takes to be their pawn. Becky agress with the plan and she’s ready to go.
Move forward again to 3:25 AM BBT as Vanessa and Liz discuss their plans to go after Jason. Vanessa has decided that she won’t talk to Jason even in search of a “reason!” and will instead just blindside him at the Veto meeting. Downstairs at the same time we’ve got Shelli telling Clay she doesn’t want Jason to be the target.
Yikes. Today is going to get ugly as the minority side of the House realizes what’s going on and the 8-HG deal has been broken when Jason goes up on the Block next to Becky.
Things may look very bad for Jason, but with Shelli expressing concerns about seeing Jason go then maybe she can get in HGs’ ears and save him. We’ve got some very interesting days ahead of us!
Update: Things got a late start this morning, but Vanessa is still pressing ahead with her plans to renom Jason. Vanessa talked with Jackie and tried to set things up as James had betrayed them in the BotB comp by not sufficiently throwing it.
Vanessa went and talked with James to get him to confirm he told Liz a word had been misspelled so they won after she fixed it. This of course has nothing to do with Jason, but Van wants to use it to underscore distrust among the alliance of 8 as a ruse for Jason’s renom. James is suspicious of Van’s line of questioning and knows she’s up to something.

Jackie spoke with Shelli and said there was no reason for them to betray the 8-person deal they made. Doing so would only make problems for everyone. Shelli was unable to convince Jackie of any problems worth breaking that deal
Veto Ceremony is underway and began around 11:45AM BBT. We should have spoilers by 1PM BBT.


We see here what Liz' true feelings are toward Austin. We could fault her for 'stringing him along' solely for her game play but at the same time she really doesn't want to be in the jury house with him.


Big Brother 17 Fauxmance: Liz Reveals True Feelings About Austin

Austin Matelson told Vanessa Rousso that he had found a renewed joy in life with the discovery of this magical flower, Liz Nolan. He’s so desperate to spend the summer by her side in Jury that he’ll do whatever it takes to stay near his princess. This would of course be a different princess from the one back at his castle which he explained to us preseason. So what does Liz Nolan think of all that?

Don’t tell Austin, and no one seems interested in doing that, but Liz wants nothing to do with him aside from whatever game protection he can provide. Oops. Last night Liz laid it all out.
Flashback on your Live Feeds to 5:45 PM BBT 7/25 as Liz arrives in the HoH to hear what Vanessa wants to tell her about Austin running his mouth and lying to their side about it. Liz makes her feelings very clear: “I don’t even liiiiike hiiiim,” whines Liz. “You guys don’t even know, I’m not even attracted to him at all,” she tells Vanessa and Shelli. Flashback to 5:53PM BBT.
When Shelli reveals that she knows about “this kiss” Liz is very embarrassed. Liz was worried that she’d be portrayed as a homewrecker since he has (had?) a girlfriend back home. So she was none too pleased when he grabbed her face and kissed her on Friday night. As Liz describes his kiss attempts, “ewwwww.” Seems she’s not a fan of his beard and how it felt against her.
   

Liz admits that she knows Austin likes her “a lot more” than she likes him, but she knows he’s looking out for her game and that’s why she’s going along with it. We had already seen her tell Julia in the DR that she was “whoring herself out” with him. So yes, this is game play by Liz and it’s at least working in one aspect, but is she creating a monster?
Liz explains she’s afraid that Austin might do to her what Caleb did to Amber last season where she was targeted for not returning the infatuation he had for her. Flashback to 6:10PM BBT to hear her express these concerns. She thinks if she tells Austin the truth then he’ll ruin her game.
   

She doesn’t want anything long term and especially doesn’t want to be in the Jury house with him “because he’s going to creep up to my room and try to have sex with me.” Well if it gets to the point where they’re both in Jury then I’d hope she’d tell him the truth considering the game is over.
My oh my, Liz. So Liz definitely doesn’t like Austin, but later Austin pours his heart out to Vanessa telling her he has fallen in love with Liz. He’ll do anything, anything at all, to be able to spend the rest of the summer with her in Jury. It’s sad. Austin is madly infatuated with this girl, which he interprets as being in love with her after just a few short weeks, but Liz is not even in the same ballpark. Yikes.
   

One thing is for sure, if Liz can tame this beast then she’d be crazy to let him go this week. This guy will fall on his sword for her at any chance. Letting that go now would be foolish for her game. Lucky for her, it sounds like Vanessa is going back on the Backdoor Austin plan already. Or maybe that’s not so lucky. We’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, with Liz' win in the BotB, it insures that her sister Julia will get to come into the house and compete alongside her. This will be interesting because Julia doesn't like Austin, at all, and it also complicates his plans to "win over" Liz.  EWWWWW !!



Big Brother Twin Twist: Liz & Julia Nolan Secure Spots On Big Brother 17

Liz Nolan and her sister Julia were fighting to survive through five evictions earning them the right to play side by side in the Big Brother 17 house. As of last night they’ve achieved their goal.

Thanks to a failed attempt by Clay to finally win a single competition, yes Clay is the lone comp loser as of now, he helped guarantee the Big Brother Twin Twist succeed in its mission as the sisters are now a lock for entering the house together on Thursday night.
Vanessa’s master plan had been for Clay and Becky to win the Battle of the Block to leave Liz and James on the Block, but thanks to their ham handed game play James was unable to keep Liz from winning. With a Liz victory in the BotB she was able to come down from the Block and be immune from renoms later this week. Now there’s nothing in the sisters’ way of surviving the 5th eviction.
I saw Twitter discussions pointing out Big Brother should just let them enter now and create some extra chaos for what already looks to have potential as a messy week. That’d be great fun especially to keep Austin distracted as his allies plot his demise, but I don’t think it’ll happen.


I’d have to go back and see how BB5 revealed this same Twin Twist, but I imagine CBS would want to capitalize on it by making it part of the live show. Unfortunately not a single person will be surprised. Everyone inside and and out of the house knows about the twins and they even know Julia’s name.
I am interested to see how the memory wall is modified to make room for a 17th HG along with what this extra person does to the potential for a returning Juror or even a Reset week. One of those two will be probably need to be wiped out, but you never know.
What do you think of the Nolan twins making it on to Big Brother 17 together? Did the other HGs miss their chance to evict her or was it a smarter plan to let them both play the game? We’ll soon see who made the mistake, but either way get ready to welcome Julia Nolan to BB17 as an official Houseguest.

Yep, I definitely found people to dislike. But a lot of good it will do me. They're sending the only likable ones home so that they can keep the creepy stalker type. What did America do to give CBS such a low opinion of us? You think we LIKE young women being turned into pawns and sex toys for disturbed obsessed men? You really think we like that?

I guess they must think we do. And we keep watching.

'Big Brother 17' Spoilers: Was the Power of Veto Used in Week 5?

Every week on Big Brother 17 the Power of Veto gets used, and in three of the first four weeks, someone got backdoored and evicted. Will the pattern continue in week 5?

Clay won the Power of Veto.

He saved himself. Jason is the replacement nominee.

Well, this week took a turn. The original plan was to backdoor Austin, but that fell through when the Sixth Sense decided to stick together for the numbers, fearing the "powerhouse" alliance of Jackie, Jason, Meg and James.

On top of that, Vanessa decided to completely blindside Jason, not telling him, Meg, James or Jackie about it at all. They all believed the plan to backdoor Austin was still in effect. At the last minute, Vanessa started acting weird with Jackie and James and raised their suspicions.

Shelli and Steve seemed to be the primary instigators in convincing Vanessa to keep Austin. Steve made the comparison to last season when Derrick and Cody were originally going to evict Zach over Jocasta in week 6, but then flipped at the last minute because Caleb convinced them that Zach was on their side, even if he was a wild card.

Austin and Liz are obviously happy as well. Austin is angry that Jason told people about the conversation he had with him and Liz seems to hate Jason because he and Da'Vonne were the ringleaders in exposing the Twin Twist.

So now the Sixth Sense has basically sprouted into a Seventh Sense since Steve is becoming a more active part. And Vanessa, Shelli and Clay also worked a deal to get Becky and Johnny Mac on their side, leaving James, Meg and Jackie as the targets after Jason is gone.

Vanessa also justified the move to herself by spinning some ridiculous story about how Jason lied to her about Da'Vonne having the Last Laugh, instead thinking Jackie had it. Her theory is too complicated for me to understand, especially since we know it's ridiculous and Jason has been nothing but honest with Vanessa.

That might be the cruelest part. Sure, I'm a known fan of Jason and hate to see him go, but he really didn't do anything wrong. He didn't lie to Vanessa or betray her. In fact, he's been more loyal to her than Austin since he told her the truth about the conversation Austin had with him. Instead, he's going because he's the only strategic thinker who's NOT a part of the Sixth Sense/Freaks and Geeks power group.

It's ironic because last week Jason was initially the target, then became everyone's best friend. Vanessa even used the Power of Veto to save him. Now, one week later, he's gone from everyone's best friend back to a target, with Vanessa backdooring him.

UPDATE: After the ceremony, Jason seemed resigned and defeated, accepting his fate and wanting to enjoy his final days. Jackie, James and Meg are a lot angrier and eager to find out what went wrong. Vanessa campaigned to James to flip him against Jason. James then started to doubt Meg and Jason, but they talked him down from it and telling him not to believe everything everyone says to him, especially Vanessa.

And Clay and Shelli are maintaining their innocence, telling Meg, Jackie and Jason that they didn't know this was going to happen, even though they did. But then in the HoH room, Vanessa wasn't having any of that and told Jackie that Shelli and Clay did know about the plan to backdoor Jason.
