'Big Brother 17' Spoilers: Who Won the Final Power of Veto?
John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV
When it gets down to the Final 4 on Big Brother 17, the Power of Veto is all that matters. After Austin was evicted, Steve won HoH and guaranteed himself a spot in the finale, but winning PoV means you get to decide who goes with you. So who won the last Power of Veto of the season?
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 17 spoilers. If you want to watch the live feeds and help support BuddyTV, sign up here.
Steve nominated John and Vanessa.
Vanessa won the Power of Veto.
Obviously Vanessa will save herself with Liz going up as the replacement nominee. This means Steve and Vanessa are definitely in the finale, but what will Vanessa do?
Johnny Mac was her target last week and she could still be worried that Steve would take him over her to the end. On the other hand, Liz is probably more dangerous, especially after Austin's outburst, and would probably beat Vanessa in the finale. I don't agree. The women on the jury, who hold the majority vote, have never expressed much "love" for Liz and respect Vanessa's game play more highly even if she screwed some of them over during the season. Evicting John would basically ensure that Vanessa gets to the Final 2, but keeping John would be her best chance of winning the game.
Wednesday night will be interesting as, once again, Vanessa must make a tough decision and get all of the blood on her hands. If I were a betting man, I'd say she's going to take out Johnny Mac, but I wouldn't bet a lot on it.
FUN FACTS
-Vanessa is the 16th person to win three PoVs in a single season. But she's only the fifth woman to do it, following season 7's Janelle Pierzina, season 8's Daniele Donato, season 11's Michelle Noonan and season 12's Britney Haynes.
-Vanessa is only the fourth person to ever win seven competitions in a single season, joining Janelle, Daniele and season 15's Frankie Grande.
-Vanessa is also only the fifth person to win at least 3 HoHs and 3 PoVs in a single season. The others are Janelle, season 14's Frank Eudy and season 15's Cody Calafiore and Frankie.
-This will be the 11th time Vanessa will cast a vote this season. Only five other people have cast that many, including Austin this year. Every single person she voted for was evicted.
-This is John's ninth nomination. The only other people nominated that many times were season 15's Spencer Clawson (also nine) and season 16's Victoria Rafaeli (10).
-This is the fifth time John is eligible to be evicted. Only eight other HGs have ever faced that many evictions.
-Steve is the 22nd HG to win three HoHs in a single season. He's also the 18th HG to win five competitions (3 HoHs and 2 PoVs) in a single season.
-John has now played in 27 HoH and PoV competitions (15 HoHs and 12 PoVs). That ties the all-time record for most comps set by season 16's Victoria.
-John ties the all-time record for playing in the most PoV competitions with 12, set by season 16's Caleb Reynolds.
-Vanessa has played in 11 PoV competitions, something only done by Caleb and John plus season 5 winner Drew Daniel, season 14's Shane Meaney and season 16's Victoria.
-Except for the first four evicted HGs (Jace, Da'Vonne, Jeff and Audrey), every other HG this season has been nominated at least twice.

Any way you slice it Vanessa is still the likely winner of the $500 K barring some weird outcome in tonight's final HOH comp.
Big Brother 17: Final Four Eviction Prediction

There is just one vote to cast tonight on Big Brother 17 when the Final Four Houseguests gather in the living room and await the word from host Julie Chen. So what will it be? We’ve got our prediction ready to go.

During Tuesday’s special eviction show we saw Steve win HoH and secure himself a spot in the F3. He has best case and worst case scenarios for who he’d want to join him, but this might not be his night to celebrate.
Vanessa won the Power of Veto. How did she beat the season’s walking library of knowledge? Oh Steve threw the competition to her. Let that sink in.
Yes, once again Vanessa said “jump” and the Houseguests cried, “please don’t hurt me!” Now Vanessa will cast the one and only vote against either John or Liz. Can you see where this is going?
Vanessa finally has an Austwin all to herself. She’s not letting that one get away and she’s sure not letting John and Steve stay together in a F3. By voting out John tonight Vanessa will find herself yet again in the middle of the pack and likely believes either player will take her over the other.
Flashback to 10:08PM BBT 9/15 to hear Steve and Vanessa have a lengthy talk about the decision ahead of her. Steve says he expects John and Liz have come to her with F2 deals to entice her decision to keep one over the other. Vanessa says they haven’t talked to her as much as he might expect while adding that she hasn’t made up her mind.
Vanessa asks Steve what he thinks, but he knows better than to answer that. See Steve wants John to stay as he explained in his tear filled camtalk last night. Steve believes John would take him and he’d take John to F2, but that opportunity is gone.
Vanessa explains her view that John will be harder for her and Steve to beat in the first two rounds of the HoH competition, which starts tonight at 8/7c by the way. She toys with the idea that maybe they could convince John to throw the final HoH comps to them and then he’d be an easy defeat in F2 as compared to Liz who starts with 2 votes in her column. I think she’s just trying to look balanced.
When asked if he thinks she should take Liz, Steve tells Vanessa he doesn’t know, but says it’d make sure they took each other. Both are afraid of Liz’s advantage of dedicated votes from Julia and Austin. But those are only two votes for Liz, should she make it to F2. There are still enough other majority votes in the jury to vote against Liz.
Since John doesn’t have that advantage but is still Vanessa’s apparent preference to go then she must be more concerned about John and Steve banding together in F3. Well, she should be, but Steve should also jump on that saying they can’t risk bringing Liz within reach of F2 in case something goes wrong with their plan to get there together. Won’t matter. Vanessa won’t keep John.
Tonight during the live eviction show I fully expect Vanessa to cast her one vote against John McGuire and send him to the Jury. Again. From there Liz, Steve, and Vanessa will set out in to the backyard for the first round of the final HoH competition which should be a huge endurance battle.
Think Vanessa has other plans? Would she keep John over Liz or is voting out John her strategy? Share your thoughts below and vote in our poll:

Re: BB Day 91 9-16-15
So Vanessa did vote out John. Now they are doing the next HOH comp., Vanessa, Steve , and Liz. It's an endurance comp. I'll have pics and videos tomorrow. It's pretty brutal and been going on for over two hours. They sit on small seats hanging from a cable with a large "apple" hanging under their seat and then are alternately dunked in a fake chocolate vat then swung against a padded wall, then back over the chocolate vat, etc. It requires endurance but not great strength so Liz and Vanessa aren't at a disadvantage. This could go on for a long time because even if one falls it's not until there is only one left that they will become the next HOH and guarantee a spot in F2. It's only 9:55 BB time right now ......
20 min. later and it looks like the prods are realizing that the comp. isn't difficult enough to cause quick enough failures so they are dunking them repeatedly in the "chocolate" which is where a mistake or failure is most likely to be made, before a wall slam.
I'll give it until about 11:30 here then I'm going to bed....
