Ratings...in general
All the hoopla over whose ratings are accurate and whose are higher, etc. seems to me to be beside the point because I don't think there is a really accurate ratings system in place today, the type of system that actually reaches "real" viewers consistently and accurately. With the advent of the streaming services this lack becomes even more acute.

It seems that viewer choices are becoming more specialized and 'fragmented' in the sense that many shows appeal to very specific audiences, whether on cable/satellite/, or streaming. Imagine for example the "poor" (possibly literally in terms of available $) that have only over-the-air access to TV. Not only are they victims of the mass media political leftist manipulations without recourse (possibly the most serious result of all this) but are shut out of any understanding of what very large numbers (and growing all the time) of TV viewers are watching.
Imagine them watching awards shows on their over-the-air channels and having never seen or even heard of many or even the majority of the shows winning awards. We see the figures stating the numbers of viewers that now have cable/satellite/streaming services and they are over 50% and growing so the "problem" shrinks year by year.
Of course the networks that have over-the -air shows as well as having them on cable, etc. enjoy big audiences for their popular shows but how many of their viewers are over-the-air only ? Surely their ratings/viewers would be much less if only those viewers were counted, but is there any valid ratings system in use that accurately counts more than the O-T-A viewers ? Who/what are they ?
