Strahan leaves "Live !"...

This isn't too surprising given that he is very popular with viewers and ABC probably made him a very good deal to go to GMA full time. I don't watch GMA because it shovels  the usual leftist, mass market propaganda but I did watch "Live ! ".....almost every day, at least the segments where they interviewed guests. And Strahan really brought the overall appeal of the show up and was a good partner with Kelly who will now have to find a new partner which won't be easy to find someone as charismatic as Michael.

Out of this group there are some that wouldn't be likely to take the job because they already have successful careers. There are some that might take it, the ex-football players, and I would probably keep watching. There are three that if one of them took it, I would never watch again. Baldwin, Cooper, Olberman.  All three radical leftists who would spew their propaganda at every opportunity.

I think Mario Lopez would be a good host. And he and Kelly are both cutie patooties.

And I've also seen it suggested that it might be time for a woman to replace Strahan.

Mario would be a good choice if he doesn't have other, major career stuff going on now, and he doesn't seem to.

The problem with having another woman as a co-host is that there wouldn't be enough difference in the ABC daytime talk show line up.  There is The View , all women,  Ellen, Meredith, etc. Live! has had a male co-host for so many years that I doubt that they would want to change that. Also, there is the 'jealousy factor' with Kelly, which is an unknown but I'll bet there are some TPTB that know all about that factor.

I can understand why Kelly's feelings are hurt. It just goes to show her that she and Strahan weren't any kind of "friends". It was just a job for him and none of her business what his plan was.

He has good things to say about her. I think he's looking ahead career-wise, while she's content to maintain the status quo. Of course being a multi-millionaire at age  41 or so, probably doesn't stoke her 'ambition fires' as much as some.

Okay, $15 million a year, not to mention her commercials, and her husband is a fairly constant working actor. Maybe they could downsize their Hamptons mansion.

But for sure the network was very negligent in the way the show was notified.

Gelman has been the only producer of that show. Philbin brought him along from CA years ago, and he was Philbin's producer for the  CA show before he went  national. I don't know how long ago that was but way more than 20 years ago.

Here's what I predict; sooner or later the ABC TPTB will take over the 9 am time slot and extend GMA. The $$ situation practically guarantees that. They live by the $. That's not a criticism, it's just reality in that business. They will offer Kelly a later time slot. 10 am seems the only viable one, to me. Any later afternoon slots suffer greatly in viewer numbers/ratings. She will then have to decide whether to take it or look elsewhere to keep the $15 million flowing in. Stay tuned......

I'll be watching tomorrow to see what happens. I doubt that Strahan will be able to develop as much "rapport" (perhaps too strong a word) with the audience as he has on Live ! because of the larger ensemble cast and also because of its continuing blatant propaganda for The Dear Leader, which of course is Stephanopoulos's main function and also one of the reasons for their ratings decline.

So there is some potential conflict between Kelly and the ABC bosses as to who they pick. I doubt if the bosses want Cooper but if she gets her way and Cooper does make it, then I won't be watching anymore, other than possibly DVRing interesting guests and watching just that segment.
