'Big Brother 19' Recap: Dominique vs. the Snake
John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV
Snake is the new floater on Big Brother 19. In past seasons the go-to insult was a floater, but in the past two seasons, first with Nicole and now with Paul, being called a snake is the ultimate takedown. In this Power of Veto episode we get a huge confrontation between Dominique and the Paul Snake. Unfortunately for Dominique, she's not a mongoose.
Dominique Talks to God
After the nomination ceremony, Dominique blankets like Audrey, isolating herself. Paul pretends to comfort her, but in the diary room he gloats about being the puppet master of the house. Dominique confides in Mark that Paul and Elena knew about this and betrayed her and Mark cries like a baby because she's like a sister to him.
Why BB19 Needs Live DRs>>>
Dominique speaks in tongues (or maybe Latin), praying to God and He tells her that Paul was behind it. She talks to Paul and he denies that he would ever betray her or be dishonest to her, all lies because he learned last season that Friendship and honesty doesn't always work.
The Power of Veto Competition
Kevin, Jason and Christmas are picked to play, but Christmas is unable to compete because of her injury. Jessica picked Jason with HG's Choice. Jason and Kevin want to win it and save Jessica so Raven can go on the block to ensure that Dominique gets evicted.
The HGs must go back and forth on a very shaky balance beam and hit a button 50 times. If they fall into the lava pit, their score goes back to zero. Also, if someone liufts a chalice they get a cash prize, but are out of the competition.
Why Kevin Is Playing the Best Game>>>
Kevin is a total disaster and he decides to take the temptation, winning $27. Jason is in the lead followed by Alex for the entire time. Dominique and Jessica both fall after about 17 or 18 times, making this a total runaway between Jason and Alex.
Jason wins the Power of Veto.
Jessica plans on laying low and hoping that she's not the target. Alex is worried that Jason might be irrational. Paul knows that he controls Alex and Alex controls Jason, so he gets to do whatever he wants.
Paul's Master Plan
Paul wants Jason to use the Power of Veto on Jessica so Alex can put up Mark as a pawn to ensure he doesn't campaign for Dominique. He tells Alex his plan, then goes to Jason and says that this is Alex's plan. Paul is extremely smug this whole time, saying that Alex needs to convince Mark to agree to be a pawn.
Mark talks to Alex and Jason and they present the plan, but Mark does not feel safe as a pawn at all. Elena and Paul are also in the room.
Snakebit
Dominique talks to Jason and tells him that she was betrayed by her own alliance. She tells him that she knows who the snake is, but refuses to say a name. She speaks in vague, enigmatic riddles.
Is Dominique the Right Target for Alex?>>>
Jason returns to the HoH room with Alex, Paul, Mark and Elena and tells them about Dominique's unnamed snake theory. Then Dominique talks to Alex about the qualities of a snake and calls Paul a tempter.
Alex immediately goes to the HoH room to tell Paul that Dominique called him a snake. Paul calls her out for a house meeting and he keeps acting like a snake to mock her. In front of most of the house, she says that he has snake tendencies. She says she's honest and God will prove her right. Paul says that God isn't in the house. Basically, Dominique is 100 percent right about Paul, but she sounds kind of crazy and no one believes her because Paul is aggressive and turns it into a joke.
In the aftermath, Mark promises Alex and Jason that he will evict Dominique as long as they don't put him on the block.
The Power of Veto Ceremony
At the Power of Veto ceremony, Paul decides to dress up like a snake, which means wearing a dress and some dumb face paint. Dominique insists that she was framed by her own team and calls out Paul as a snake who has minions working for him. She says that Paul and Elena were not loyal to her the way that she was loyal to them.
Jason decides not to use the Power of Veto. Paul basically admits that he really is a snake in the diary room while Dominique begs God to tempt her in the Den.
This probably won't happen:

Big Brother 19 Eviction Prediction: Who Is Going Home Week 3?
July 20, 2017 Matthew Boyer Big Brother 19 21 Comments
Houseguests are getting ready for another eviction vote tonight on Big Brother but someone is holding on to the Halting Hex that could bring all of that to a surprise stop.
Week 3 Nominees on Big Brother 19
The latest Temptation was released in the house yesterday but we still don’t know who has it. Jessica has been feeling out the votes asking not to be blindsided and has received reassurances she’s safe. Meanwhile Dominique has said she expects to see the votes coming her way. She’s right.
Overnight there was some talk about flipping the vote to take out Jessica when Matthew and Raven approached Paul with the idea. He said to sleep on it and this morning he took the time to go talk with Alex about it. Later in a little camtalk session Paul said he still wanted Dominique to go tonight and would then focus on Jessica and Ramses after that.
Considering the HGs suspect someone will be coming back I’m surprised that there isn’t more consideration given to sending Jessica out the door to avoid a reunion for her and Cody should he be back. That isn’t weighing too heavily in talks we’ve watched, but I bet they’ll regret it if that reunion happens.

So about that Halting Hex, the power lets one of the HGs stop an eviction, but we don’t know who has it. Dominique would definitely want to play it if she has it tonight because she knows she’s in danger. Jessica might sit on it and gamble that she’s safe, especially after receiving those promises.
If the Halting Hex doesn’t come in to play tonight then Dominique will be voted out and it’ll probably be 10-0 or 9-1 if we get a hinky vote in the mix. From there she’d be off to join the Battle Back adventure which we’ll see play out during Friday’s episode (8/7c) on CBS.
Update: Hmm. Matthew & Paul are discussing the vote flip idea again this morning. Matthew is more for it than Paul, but Paul didn’t completely dismiss it. We’ll have to keep watching to see if it gains traction.
Who do you think will be evicted tonight on Big Brother? Share your thoughts below.
Thank you for voting!
Dominique 84.76%
Jessica 15.24%

Re: BB day 30
I voted for Raven to get the Halting Hex, the result of which would be mild compared to what would happen if Jessica gets it, which would be that she halts the eviction, she and Dominique remain, Cody wins the Battle Back, he and Jessica are reunited in a tear-filled moment of passion, and then 'all hell breaks loose.'
Will There Be a Last-Minute Vote Flip on 'Big Brother 19'?

The third week of Big Brother 19 looked pretty clear as Alex and Paul concocted a plan to target Dominique. Now she's on the block next to Jessica and, by all accounts, it should be an easy, unanimous vote to evict Dominique. Or is it?
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 19 spoilers.
At the very last minute (late Wednesday and early Thursday morning) there has been talk about possibly flipping the vote to evict Jessica. Matt and Raven seemed to be the first ones to float this idea, later talking to Paul. Unfortunately the feeds were cut off early Thursday and won't return until after Friday's special Battle Back episode, leaving us in the dark as to what will happen.
Who Will Win the Battle Back?>>>
The main concern stems from the fact that, on Wednesday, the Den of Temptation opened and someone accepted the offer. The speculation among fans and some people in the house is that Jessica got it. The HGs also know that the curse will affect the entire house, leading some to anticipate a potential Battle Back.
Jessica has been talking about this quite a bit in the last 24 hours, discussing what would happen if Cody returned to the game. She told a few people that Cody expressed an interest in working with Paul, but Paul is denying that he would ever do such a thing. Her speculation about Cody returning has led some to view her as a threat.
Why Kevin Is Playing the Best Game>>>
At this point, Dominique has isolated herself for the entire week. She hasn't really talked to anyone and has no allies in the game. The thought is that she's already checked out, so Jessica is a bigger threat who should be taken out.
Will this last-minute crusade to flip the vote against Jessica work? More importantly, will Jessica find out about it. If she actually did win the Den of Temptation, then she has the Halting Hex and could, theoretically, cancel Thursday's eviction and ensure that both she and Dominique stay in the game. If that happens, combined with a Battle Back, all hell could break loose. The tragic part is that we won't have live feeds for any of it.
