The Orville
This actually looks more fun and more entertaining than Star Trek Discovery. September 10th on Fox.

Re: The Orville
I'll check it out. Looks like a parody of Star Trek....

Re: The Orville
I wasn't impressed with the first ep but the second one was much better with a innovative concept of the drifting generation world. It reminded me of some Star Trek episodes but with more 'realistic' violence. It is hampered by often silly dialog and Scott Grimes and Adrianne Palecki deserve better roles , but I'll keep watching and maybe the innovation will continue.

Re: The Orville
They keep coming up with new and interesting concepts and plot lines. The overall production values, special effects, and acting can't measure up to ST Discovery but I suspect their budget is a lot smaller.

Re: The Orville
I need a few light entertainment things to watch and this one fits right into my idea of fun.

Re: The Orville
No "light entertainment" for me ! Catching up on 'The Deuce' and of course watching S8 of The Walking Dead, and I haven't even started on catching up with Ray Donovan, and the new season of Shameless started last night and will probably binge watch the new season of Stranger Things and I'm already 2-3 episodes behind on Good Behavior ! Had enough ?.....
S2 of The Travelers has started in Canada but we have to wait until next month for some reason.
And then in a final horror I have a whole package of Reeses Peanut Butter cups to get rid of, left over from Halloween when I had zero (0) trick or treaters which is the norm except this year a single mother with 4 grade school kids moved in next door about a year ago and they put up elaborate Halloween decorations all over the front of their house 3 weeks before Halloween so I figured they would be trick or treat animals and I'd better have something on hand. But they weren't even home on Halloween ! So now I'm stuck with the Reeses. Oh the horror ! And the Halloween decorations are still up ! Is my life a living hell ?

Re: The Orville
I only had two trick or treaters and I live in a neighborhood about two blocks from a middle school and it wasn't cold... by ND standards.
I fairly caught up on most shows. Saving a couple to watch over the holidays.

Re: The Orville
What amateurs! I had a few bags of candy left over from Halloween. I promptly hid it and the fam will be getting to see it again on Thanksgiving....and possibly Hannukah.
Meanwhile, they all think I ate it and I keep seeing them looking around for it and shooting me dirty looks.

Re: The Orville
That is an efficient plan ! I just gave away my Reeses to one of the little girls next door. She was the only kid home with her mother at the time so may try to hoard it but that's not my problem.
Meanwhile, this afternoon I got a bottle of Austrian Schnapps from some new friends from Austria as a gift for providing them with transportation this weekend during our big 1st annual RES glider contest that went off very well. I've never tried Schnapps, hopefully it will not be so unappealing as almost all other hard liquor I've tried. Margaritas are the exception. More reports and pics in another thread after I edit them and have more time to do a detailed post.

Re: The Orville
Does it have a flavoring? Like peppermint? Apple? Almond? Here's some thoughts and recipes.

Re: The Orville
i haven't opened it yet. Will report back when I taste it. It's clear, like water. I guess that's typical for Schnapps ?

Re: The Orville
I tried the Schnapps, no thanks.. I'll give it away....
Meanwhile....according to a guy on YouTube that reviews TV shows.....there are dozens of them.....he says that ep 13 of The Orville, the last ep of the season, won't be shown this season but will be shown as ep 1 of S2. Don't know if that's true, and can't figure out why they would do that. We'll see if it's true.....

Re: The Orville
I picked up a recipe from the last hotel I stayed out. It was for a punch recipe. I made it last night...Bayou Satsuma rum, pineapple juice, sparkling wine and a drop of red and a drop of yellow food coloring. It made a pretty orange drink that tasted so good. I'm definitely making it again for New Year's Eve.

Re: The Orville
Rum is one of the hard liquors that I can tolerate, in Coke, but that drink sounds pretty good. I gave the Schnapps to a club member. He may report back...
