BB day 45

BB day 45
I would have thought that Josh would nominate Cody and Mark since he hates them both but putting Elena up instead of Mark may not be as strategic a move as he thinks. Also, will his mental instability come back to bite him at some point during his reign as HOH ? Lately he has calmed down, other than the pan banging episodes but the pressures of being HOH could send him over the edge again. Will it be only to his detriment or will it rebound on the other HGs in some way ? An interesting week coming up.
Allison Grodner Interview: Crossing The Line, Pressure Cooker, & BBOTT2
Posted: 04 Aug 2017 12:30 PM PDT
Last night wrapped up an extremely heated week inside the Big Brother 19 house and those fights raised a lot of concerns for fans. This was also the week we got disappointing news that it could be while before we see another season of BB Over The Top. Seemed like the perfect opportunity in our weekly interview with the show’s top brass to discuss.
Josh Martinez wins HoH on BB19
We asked Big Brother Executive Producer about “crossing that line,” whether we’d get the Pressure Cooker back, and what’s her ideal scenario for the return of BBOTT.
Big Brother Network: Houseguests had several very heated confrontations this week, including a second face to face between Josh and Mark. With the Houseguests’ well-being and safety in mind, how does your team decide where and when to draw the line for what behavior to stop? Is there a limit to verbal attacks or only physical fights?
Allison Grodner: The safety of our houseguests is our primary concern. We are watching the houseguests 24/7 with the ability to intervene at any time. The houseguests know the rules regarding violence and when they come too close to crossing the line we will step in.
This season started off with a series of endurance and extended HoH competitions, a huge plus for Live Feed viewers. We love it. Could this season finally be the one to bring the return of the elusive Pressure Cooker Endurance Comp?
Grodner: Lol. That was a fun one! Endurance competitions are a staple of Big Brother and we are always looking for new twists to old classics. Schedule changes over the years have prevented us from doing a competition that lasts 14 hours like the Pressure Cooker but you never know…
CBS Interactive announced there were currently no plans for a BBOTT Season 2 this fall, but didn’t rule out another season at some point. Do you think we could see still a BBOTT2 in 2018? When do you think would be the ideal time of year if it were entirely up to your team?
Grodner: We enjoyed breaking new ground in the digital space with BBOTT and would welcome an opportunity to do it all again. I think it would be ideal to have a breather between the broadcast and the digital season. Not just for the crew but for the audience.
Thank you!
So Grodner kind of danced around the verbal attacks question and went with the physical altercation scenarios. We know HGs were eventually told to lay off during those fights on Monday, but was the line only crossed once they had enough footage for the show?
As for the long dream of another Pressure Cooker, well it sounds like that probably won’t ever happen again. When they’ve got to get quickly rolling on building up the Friday’s competition that’s not a surprise. Maybe we’ll get it with the eventual, hopeful return of that other little gem, BBOTT2.

Big Brother 19: Nomination Anticipation In Week 6
Posted: 04 Aug 2017 09:30 AM PDT
Nominations are coming tonight on Big Brother 19 and we’ll have the spoilers when they do, but again this week it won’t be as simple as Josh making his picks and preparing to move on. The Temptation Competition stands in the way, giving the house’s top targets a chance at a possible, but narrow escape this week. Oh, and Josh might be ready to rip control away from Paul with a move of his own.
Josh Martinez talks plans on BB19
It’s no mystery that once again Jessica and Cody are at the top of the list for getting themselves sent to the Block and there’s no Halting Hex around this time, but they’re not the only targets in the house for Josh as we learned this morning.
Flashback to 8:19 AM BBT 8/4 Cams 1/2 to find Josh and Christmas whispering in the Lounge.
“I want Elena out,” says Josh. Ohh, but what about Paul’s wishes? Josh doesn’t care and he knows that Paul doesn’t see the dangers in Elena that he does. Christmas agrees with Josh and supports this idea that he shouldn’t be doing what Paul wants. She doesn’t like how Paul tells, instead of asks.
Now Josh does say that he’s fine with either Jessica or Cody going this week, but should a window open come Thursday, he wants to shove Elena through it. (My words, not his.) In the meantime he’ll keep things appearing to aim at the showmance couple instead. He doesn’t want to tell Paul about this secret plan and I don’t think Christmas will betray Josh’s trust on this, at least not yet.
Josh believes that Elena is tight with Jessica and Cody as well as with Paul so by taking her out he’s weakening a row of other players. Christmas is supportive of this plan and even suggests Josh work on a deal with Jessica and Cody in exchange for safety if the opportunity presents itself.
As for the open targets, Cody and Jessica are definitely going to be playing in the Temptation Comp, but so is just about everyone else if not the entire house. The majority’s plan there is to up their chances of taking the win from Cody and Jessica. Now in the targeted pair’s ideal scenario one of them would win and if that’s happening then the other should take a hard fall here. Coming in dead last will ensure a spot in the Veto comp so no BD would be possible for at least have their pair.
An interesting twist of that move, going with the scenario of Cody winning the Temptation and Jessica making sure she comes in last, is that Josh would have to pick two other HGs to nominate since one would be protected and the other already on the Block. If that happens then watch for Josh to put Mark and Elena up since that’d play right in to Josh’s secret plan here anyway.
It’s hard to be sure what’s going on in Josh’s mind, but this Elena targeting is a little but of a surprise, but not entirely shocking. Last night Alex was stoking the embers after the HoH competition by telling Josh that Elena and Mark weren’t celebrating Josh’s HoH win. Elena then had a long talk with Josh and I thought it had smoothed things out. I guess not!
If the Temptation doesn’t get in the way then watch for Cody and Jessica to go up. If either wins safety this afternoon then Elena or Mark could end up the alternate.
Last week the Temptation Competition ran from about 3PM ET to 7PM ET and that was with just four competitors. If we get the entire house playing this week then my goodness this could go on all day and I hope production moves up the start time a little bit. Nominations were revealed just after 10PM ET so it’ll be around then or maybe even much later this week.

There has never been a 'conception' actually in the house during a season and I doubt this will be the first, but it does enliven an otherwise sappy pairing.

'Big Brother 19' Spoilers: Could Jessica Be Pregnant?
John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV
Jessica and Cody have gotten very close on Big Brother 19, regularly discussing their life together outside of the game. But on Thursday night, the pair got a little cheeky and raised suspicions about the possibility of Jessica being pregnant.
To be fair, Cody did look directly at the camera afterwards and declared that Jessica is not pregnant, though they laughed about there being question marks after that statement. She's probably not pregnant, but it definitely sounds like it's not an impossibility given what they've been doing under covers.
The whole issue began when Cody and Jessica were in bed after Josh won HoH. They know they're the targets and one of them is probably going to be evicted, so they mentioned the possibility that the Power of Veto competition may involve prizes. If it does, they agreed to go for the prizes over the Veto, with Jessica saying "Mama needs a vacation."
Should Jessica Have Taken Paul's Deal?>>>
Cody then jokingly questioned her word choice, which led them down a conversation about what would happen if she is pregnant, deciding that if she's evicted this week and finds out she's pregnant in the real world, Cody would be informed of it if he's still in the game.
Jessica even joked that her mom would be reading this on Twitter and freak out. The two of them treated it like a fun joke, even saying "#IsSheorIsntShe."
Has the Game Become Too Harsh?>>>
Obviously the two of them have been spending a lot of time under the covers and their relationship has definitely moved to that physical level, but the odds of someone getting pregnant inside the Big Brother house aren't likely. Still, it was a fun and cute little moment between Cody and Jessica, who are maintaining a good sense of humor despite the entire house targeting them.

Re: BB day 45
There happen to be more conflicting personality types this season than usual and this is what happens. In past seasons there have been such personalities but they were the only ones on their respective seasons. Evel (correct spelling) Dick Donato and Russell Hantz come to mind. Of course Russell was evicted by the producers for physically threatening another HG and Evel stuck around and became the most famous of the "HGs we love to hate".

Has the Game Become Too Harsh on 'Big Brother 19'?
Derek Stauffer
Contributing Writer, BuddyTV
Big Brother has never been a competition where the contestants pull their punches. A season of the summer reality competition where the houseguests don't have one big blow-up a week is considered a season wasted. On Big Brother 19 there hasn't been just a big fight each week, but one nearly every day and all of them have been incredibly nasty.
Things reached a fever pitch in Paul's second Head of Household reign. Although it was a wasted week where no one got evicted, the houseguests didn't treat it as one and spent all their energy yelling at each other till blue in the face. The Big Brother 19 house has crossed the line from melodramatic entertainment to nasty bullying.
Big Brother 19 Recap: Does Jessica Use the Halting Hex to Save Cody?>>>
Truly the Most Outrageous Season Yet
There is a legitimate part of Big Brother that is psychological. Big Brother is as much a mental and emotional game as a physical one. This means that engaging in arguments is unavoidable and a real element of the game. This isn't what is happening on BB19. An argument usually involves two parties actively engaging another in a war of words. Increasingly on Big Brother 19, the blow-ups have been one side of the house raging at the other but their opponents don't even bother to respond.
Bullying is a term that gets thrown around a lot with CBS' Big Brother but it has been never more apt for season 19. Other seasons have been vicious and even racist, Big Brother 15 was especially awful in this regard. There is no other word for what Paul, Josh and the rest are doing than "bullying." The behavior against Mark, Jessica and Cody has been reprehensible. There is no excuse for the entire house going after Cody, berating Jessica and himself because Jessica did something that Paul didn't want her to do.
The same goes for Josh's horrid banging on pots and pans. This is something that the rest of the house finds hilarious but it is disgustingly childish behavior. Due to the rules of the game no houseguest can lay a hand on another in anger but Josh's banging should be similarly outlawed. It is a harassment plain and simple. It's loud, obnoxious, disruptive and completely unnecessary. There is no reason for it other than Josh just doesn't like Jessica, Cody and Mark. Josh believes himself as some class clown. It's not that hard to see why he feels that way. The house, especially Paul, eggs Josh on but Josh isn't funny. He is a cowardly bully who can't take a portion of his own medicine. Josh's behavior should be condemned, not praised.
Bullying the Bullies
As terrible as Paul and his side have been, the other side of the house has not been blameless. Cody really began this nasty atmosphere in the house by nominating Megan because he didn't like her and yelling at everyone. Mark, even if it was done mostly in jest, did also throw pickle juice in Josh's face during a petty argument. Even the latest blow-up where the entire house made it their personal mission to torment Jessica and Cody was really sparked by Jessica screaming at Raven. (Jessica was provoked into that fight but she could have easily just stayed silent.)
Bachelorette Villain and Real Housewife Join Celebrity Big Brother>>>
No one in the Big Brother 19 house is really a hero. Jessica and Cody are rightfully disliked by the house and the audience. Still Jessica and Cody have been taken the "high road" lately and trying to remain as neutral as possible. Mark in particular has done very little to Josh since their pool argument but that hasn't stopped Josh from calling him every name in the book, including being a bully.
There is blame to be laid on both sides of the house but one side has crossed a line. Paul might wants to portray himself as a hero who is "bullying a bully" but that is not the case. Cody might not be the most likable person in the world and he certainly isn't even-keel but the behavior in the house has crossed the line from psychological gameplay to true harassment. No one in the house deserves what happened to Jessica and Cody following Jessica's decision to use her Halting Hex. Big Brother 19 even cut out the worst parts of the verbal attacks, which included the house questioning and insulting Cody's military service, and it was still entirely too much.
What do you think, is this harassment or is this fair game?
