BB day 53
I didn't see Elena and Jason as the nominees but it does make sense if backdooring Cody is the goal, and of course it is and will remain so until he's gone. There are several low-odds ways he can save himself.....we'll have to wait and see...

'Big Brother 19' Spoilers: Who Are the Week 7 Nominees?

Alex is the new HoH on Big Brother 19 and obviously the plan is to backdoor Cody. But to do that, a bunch of pawns needs to go on the block and in this backwards season, everyone seems to be volunteering for the role.
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 19 spoilers.
Mark won immunity and Matt is the third nominee.
Alex nominated Elena and Jason.
Yes, Alex nominated her ride-or-die, Jason. The conversation was truly embarrassing. They didn't want to nominate Raven because Paul, Alex, Kevin and Jason still want to make Maven think that they're together. And it couldn't be Josh, Christmas or Kevin because they're terrible at competitions. The decision came down to Jason or Paul and Paul once again pretended to volunteer, but convinced them not to put him up because it would look weird and he might be a target. Jason ate this up and happily volunteered to protect Paul.
Why Paul Should Keep Cody in the Game>>>
Once again, Paul gets exactly what he wants and he's the one who actually made the decision about these nominations. He was even the one who got Matt to throw the Temptation Competition to be the third nominee.
But none of this matters because the plan is to backdoor Cody. The odds of Cody even getting picked to play are just 18 percent, and the odds of him actually winning the PoV are only 3 percent. There is one possible out, because Mark and Elena are smart enough to recognize that the best-case scenario for them is Cody getting picked to play, winning PoV and using it on her. But even if Elena is willing to risk picking Cody if she gets HG's Choice (not likely), that only would increase the odds of him winning to 12 percent.
FUN FACT
Paul and Kevin are now the only two HGs who have never been on the block. In four out of the last five summer seasons, the last person to be nominated went on to win the game: season 14's Ian Terry, season 15's Andy Herren, season 16's Derrick Levasseur and season 18's Nicole Franzel. The only exception was season 17's Austin Matelson.
