Sanctuary

Who saw it ? It was pretty good. Reminded me of a combination of Matrix, Sin City, and Men in Black. How/why there are so many peculiar monsters around the world that only Amamda encountered and brought back, without anyone else every encountering them is a nit-pick. Also have to find out why she is ~157 years old and her blood has unusual properties. It wasn't made clear during the show....maybe in a later episode...

I saw it. It was kinda Bones meets Dr. Moreau. Taped it for Craig so I'll be watching it again I was in out of the kitchen while it was on. Amanda's character is interesting so I'll see where it goes.

Missed it...but am interested. Will try to catch up online.

I think I will like it. Having some trouble getting use to her dark hair and accent though!

Yeah, I'm wondering why the accent. It seems if an actor has a American/Canadian "accent" normally, then they must use an English/Aussie/etc. accent. But if they already have an English/Aussie/etc. accent then they must use an American accent. Go figure.....

Only Marsha Tomason in recent memory has kept her English accent on Las Vegas, Lost ,and Easy Money.

Glad you like the quote Sandisea. One of my favorites on writers. It keeps me humble...not that I could have a big head about anything I write...

Sorry to hear that the book your reading is not "all that" It's sad but true that being published isn't about good writing as much as it is about the almighty dollar.

Boy they spent alot of money making this show. I hope the story line gets better. I am not sure this show is going to hold my interest very long. However, I will put it on the TIVO list to see when nothing else on.

The story lines are getting rather lame. Last night reminded me of "The Troubles With Tribbles" , from Star Trek. NCIS was a repeat so Sanctuary was the only other choice...

The sets look elaborate and expensive but I read that it's all done with green screens amd non-animated CGI .

:indecision: I watched for about five minutes last night...and then just shut it off. Don't feel like I missed a thing. Guess I'm done with that show.

By accident this fell off my radar a couple of weeks ago. Sad that it's not so good after all. Potential + Quality =Success. But it must be harder to achieve that than I would know.

I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer on Friday night so I taped it but now I'm not so sure I want to waste my time watching it! :indecision:

I sure miss Stargate SG1!!!

Sci Fi Channel announced that it has greenlit production on a second season of its hit series [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The show, shot in the style of "300" in front of green screens instead
of on sets, will come back with 13 new hour-long episodes in 2009.

Original Programming for the network. "Technology and great
storytelling makes 'Sanctuary' a fantastic addition to Sci Fi's 2009
lineup."

On "Sanctuary," Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) is a 157-year-old
"terrologist," one who studies monsters that she calls "abnormals."
Along with her team, she befriends creatures that have evolved from
mankind and gives them a safe haven in which to live.

The premiere of "Sanctuary" on Oct. 3 brought in more than 3 million

The new season will begin production in Vancouver early next year.

Hi all!

I think this show is getting better each week. The last epi helped to put the characters in to perspective, by now knowing they are of Vampire origin by choice.

I hope the writters will reduce the daughter's mean streak.

I look forward to seeing the new epi this weekend.

I was looking forward to seeing it in HD tonight but the Sci-Fi Channel has seen fit to have a Mork and Mindy marathon instead. Nor is there any new programming on the other channels.

The Scifi Channel's Sanctuary site says that Dec.5th is the next new episode.

I ended up not watching much TV since Wednesday two weeks ago because of unusal programing choices. And, that our TIVO is failing. We sent a way to weaknees.com for two new drives and a new remote control.

This is still much less than purchasing a new unit and keeping our current contract status with TIVO.

Dec 5th is just a couple more days.....

So...anybody else catch this? I liked it. Interesting what's happening with the daughter.

I saw it. Does look pretty good this season, so far. On the other hand, Stargate Universe was pretty much a dud last night... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It left me kinda "eh" but in all fairness I don't watch the show. I've only seen about 3 episodes from last season. So, probably this will be a future netflix rental. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Heard that this got lots better so Hubby and I sat down to check it out last weekend. Episode one, season one was interesting. Has potential. We are a full season behind. we'll see if we can stick with it long enough to get to the good part. :)
