I will watch this if they cast interesting HGs. Of course I'm voting for Jason as the final, fan picked HG. Why the producers put up Jozea as one of the choices can only be to annoy or alarm the fans.

'Big Brother: Over the Top' Reveals Schedule and Big Cast Twist with Jason and Jozea

John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

The confetti is still falling from the Big Brother 18 finale, but the new digital season is coming soon. Big Brother: Over the Top premieres Wednesday, September 28 at 10/9c on CBS All Access and new details are here with big changes, the full weekly schedule and one huge cast twist.

BB18 Finale: Nicole Wins>>>

On the Big Brother 18 finale it was revealed that America gets to vote to bring back one returning player to the new season. Either season 17's Jason Roy or season 18's Jozea Flores will be voted into the game as a houseguest competing for the big prize. Both flamboyant and gay, Jason was the huge superfan aligned with Da'Vonne who got blindsided by Vanessa while Jozea was the Messiah evicted in week 1 this year.

CBS also revealed several details on the twists coming to BBOTT. One of the biggest ones is that fans will be voting for the winner, which is very unusual. Throughout the game, fans will also get to vote to affect the nominations and evictions, though details are still to come.

There's also something new called the Safety Ceremony, where the HoH will reveal which HGs are safe for the week before reaching the nominations. The full schedule still includes HoH and PoV competitions, nominations and evictions, plus some more extras for live feed watchers on CBS All Access.

Not only will viewers get to watch live competitions and ceremonies, but there will also be special nights with live diary room sessions. Here's the full schedule of events.

WEDNESDAYS
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Weekly Full Episode, a recap of everything that happened in the week
-11pm ET/8pm PT: Live Eviction
-Midnight ET/9pm PT: HoH Competition

THURSDAYS
-TBD: Julie Chen's Q&A with the HGs and Interview with the Evicted HG
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Weekday Replay, a highlights special for the day's events

FRIDAYS
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Weekday Replay
-10:30pm ET/7:30pm PT: Live Diary Rooms

SATURDAYS
-4pm ET/1pm PT: Have-Not Reveal
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Safety Ceremony

SUNDAYS
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Safety Ceremony and Nominations

MONDAYS
-4pm ET/1pm PT: Power of Veto Competition
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Weekday Replay

TUESDAYS
-4pm ET/1pm PT: Power of Veto Ceremony
-10pm ET/7pm PT: Weekday Replay
-10:30pm ET/7:30pm PT: Live Diary Rooms

That's a jam-packed week with exciting events to watch every single day. How will the new twists affect the game? How will the HGs respond to being on a digital season? What will the competitions look like on the live feeds? And how will the cast react to Jason or Jozea entering the game?

Find out when Big Brother: Over the Top begins Wednesday, September 28 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on CBS All Access.

‘Big Brother Over The Top’ Cast Reveal Monday & Voting Is Now Open – Jason Or Jozea?

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 11:30 AM PDT

The new cast of Big Brother Over The Top will be revealed this Monday morning, Sept. 26, 2016 by CBS as we head toward the season premiere of BBOTT on Wednesday the 28th. In the first twist of the season fans will be voting for one bonus Houseguest, a former veteran, to return to the game.

Big Brother Over The Top vote: Jason vs Jozea

Last night Julie Chen confirmed the new BBOTT season cast would include 12 all-new faces along with one veteran player, either Jason Roy from BB17 or Jozea Flores from BB18 and now CBS has shared more details on what those faces and names will be announced. Not only that, but voting is now open for the 13th HG spot with a deadline of next Monday.

Best part of this early cast news so far is the confirmation that the first twelve players are totally new. Though after BB18’s results I imagine they may not let any Veteran HG stick around too long! Then again, maybe they won’t be any smarter about it than this last group was.

With the shortened season of Big Brother Over The Top running just ten weeks instead of the thirteen weeks we just watched it’s no surprise that we’ll be getting a shorter list of Houseguests for this new series installment. Thirteen HGs and 10 weeks to run the game gives us very little time for returning HGs like we saw this season on Big Brother 18.

You can go to CBS.com right now and cast your first 20 votes then return each day between now and Monday morning when the poll closes and the results are tallied. We won’t know until Wednesday night which Vet player has won his way back in to the Big Brother house. Personally, I’ve got my fingers cross for Jason Roy though Jozea’s delusions would surely be entertaining again.

We’ll have all the BBOTT cast details for you Monday morning starting at 10AM ET (7AM PT) so be sure to join us on Facebook, Twitter, & by Email Updates to make sure you don’t miss the news. You can also download our free Big Brother App for alerts and updates there too.

Along with the official voting as CBS.com you can vote in our poll here and share your thoughts on who you want to get back in the game. Or maybe you don’t want any Vets playing again. Tell us what you think and then get ready for Monday’s reveal & Wednesday’s premiere!

BBOTT: Which Vet Should Return?

The voting is running 94% for Jason to return.

A couple of more days to wait then I decide if this will be worth watching.

‘Big Brother Over The Top’ Preseason Details & Everything You Need To Know
By: Matthew Boyer | September 23, 2016 at 3:30 PM EDT

We’re just days away from the start of Big Brother Over The Top next Wednesday (Sept. 28th) and the BBOTT cast reveal is coming even sooner than that so let’s do a quick rundown of what we know so far about the series and what’s just around the corner for the new season of Big Brother.

Julie Chen hosts Big Brother Over The Top

Over The Top is the an online-only variation of Big Brother US and will be set in the same house, following the same basic structure of HoH, noms, Vetoes, & evictions, but there will be several major differences separating the BBOTT version from what we watch on TV each summer. Speaking of which, don’t worry, Big Brother 19 will return to CBS TV in the summer of 2017!

How To Watch BBOTT:

Since Big Brother OTT is on All Access that does mean it’s a paid subscription exclusive for those viewers and it is US-only. The cost is $5.99/month after the Free Trial ends and you can cancel anytime in your account settings if you decide you’re done watching. This is the same cost and method we use each summer to watch Big Brother Feeds so for those who are already familiar with that this will be nothing new. For TV-only fans venturing in to new territory I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Feeds have always provided the best insight to the real Big Brother game and if you’ve never tried them before then I expect you will have a lot of fun with this. And don’t worry if you’re concerned you’ll have to huddle around your computer to watch BBOTT. You won’t have to do that. It’s actually very easy to get All Access on your regular TV and watch it just like you do with Netflix streaming or Hulu shows. Check out our guide to how to watch All Access & Feeds on various devices.
BBOTT Cast:

The BBOTT cast will be revealed on Monday at 10AM PT (1PM ET) and will feature 12 all-new Houseguests. Yes, we will have the cast list ready for you here on our site so be sure to come back and visit us on Monday for the cast announcement. CBS will also have video interview footage for them and that’ll be on the open cbs.com website instead of behind the All Access login so everyone can meet the cast for free if you’re waiting to decide on signing up with the Free Trial.

Along with the twelve new players in the game we’ll get one Veteran player, either Jason Roy or Jozea Flores. Voting is now open for that (go here to vote at cbs.com) and runs through Tuesday. You’ll have 20 votes each day so keep supporting your pick though I expect Jason to crush Jozea on this one. The official results will be announced on Wednesday likely with the first live show.
BBOTT Schedule:

Speaking of shows, since this is all online there won’t be any CBS broadcast episodes but there will be shows online along with the Live Feeds. Feeds will run around the clock and there are no scheduled blackouts for things like the comps and ceremonies. We’ll see that all online as it happens. CBS has already released the weekly events schedule for BBOTT so we can turn on our Feeds at the right time and watch it happen. Or if you miss things you can rewind and watch using Flashback.

BBOTT Extras:

Along with what we’re used to seeing from Big Brother there will be new extras like Live Feed Diary Room sessions. Twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30PM ET we’ll get to see HGs go in the DR which should be great for avoiding those awful segments like Corey trying to read his lines and acting as though he has a pulse at the same time. With no regular shows we won’t get DR sessions otherwise. Really I wish there were more scheduled DR events like this though but maybe they’ll add some if it gets a good response from fans.

A new way of doing nominations will be introduced for Over The Top. Starting on Saturday nights (10PM ET) there will be a “Safety Ceremony” which will reveal at least part of the group who won’t be eligible for nomination. Maybe that’s something we’ll vote on each week to protect a fan favorite. CBS hasn’t said more on that yet. Then on Sunday nights (10PM ET) we’ll have the “Final weekly Safety Ceremony and Nomination Reveal” event. So one way or the other by the end of those two days we’ll know who is up for eviction that week before the Veto comp on Mondays (4PM ET) and PoV Ceremony on Tuesdays (4PM ET).

It’s going to be really strange to have an HoH crowned on Wednesday nights then no nominations decided for three more days. I hope that’s good for more time of stressing for a wider group of Houseguests so I’m interested to see how that goes for the flow of the game.

Another interesting twist on the season is that fans will vote for the winner of BBOTT. Now I’ve seen some different wording on that which could mean we’re either one vote toward deciding the winner or we alone are deciding the winner. If it’s the latter then there’d be no need for a Jury or a post-eviction Jury House. I wouldn’t be surprised by that if they just let the HGs back in to the wild when their game is done. That’ll be interesting to get their involvement on Twitter for the rest of the season.
BBOTT House:

Yes, they’re using the same house and since there are only a few days between the end of Big Brother 18 and the premiere of BBOTT we should not expect any major changes to the house design. CBS told us in a conference call that there may be some changes but the overall theme will be the same.

Expect the Departures board, Tokyo bedroom, etc. to be the same. Maybe even the Have-Nots too because that punishment aspect of the game is definitely back though there will be no fan voting on punishment foods for at least the first few weeks.
BBOTT Premiere Week Events:

There’s not much time between the end of BB18 and the start of BBOTT so get ready for things to come at us quickly next week. On Monday we’ll get the 12 HG cast reveal at 1PM ET (10AM PT), Tuesday voting will end for Jason vs Jozea, Wednesday is the premiere & reveal of 13th HG, Thursday is the first HoH competition live on your Feeds (4PM ET), then we should hit our regular routine.

Okay, I think that’s everything we know so far. Cast on Monday, premiere on Wednesday, and then 10 weeks of Big Brother to follow with all the usual coverage you’ve come to expect here on the site. You can also download our free Big Brother App, join us on Facebook and Twitter, and get our Email Updates for the total package and a Big Brother overload!

Why the Audience Involvement in 'Big Brother: Over the Top' Is a Genius Move
Derek Stauffer

Contributing Writer, BuddyTV

Big Brother 18 is over but if you have a CBS All Access subscription it will be like the show never left. A streaming-only version of Big Brother is coming to CBS All Access and it will begin airing episodes on September 28. The new version of Big Brother, called Big Brother: Over the Top, will have more going for it than a wordy title and a new way to watch. The game itself will be very different. One of the biggest changes is that the audience will have a say in who ultimately wins the game. While this completely alters the game, it is a perfect move for Big Brother: Over the Top.

Did the Jury Make a Huge Mistake with the Winner of 'Big Brother 18'? >>>

Change Is Good

The winner of Big Brother being chosen by the viewers takes the game in a completely new direction. Fans will not just be able to choose the winner, either. As previously reported, fans will be able to influence evictions and nominations. There are always twists to the standard formula on the mainline Big Brother but some things are always true. There is always at least one Head of Household who nominates people for eviction and the houseguests vote for someone to leave. There is always a jury at the end of the game and that jury casts the votes for the winner.

These new audience twists should completely change how the game is played on Big Brother: Over the Top. There is a very real chance that Over the Top will appear very different from the main franchise, besides the fact that a bunch of strangers will be gathered in one house. This is the absolutely the right move for Over the Top though.

The show should be different and vary greatly from the summer franchise. Over the Top is an experiment and it's an experiment that many people were not initially interested in because it didn't seem necessary. Big Brother works in the summer because of the lack of regular TV programming and the show's "drop-in and drop-out" style of watching. Big Brother: Over the Top could not be the exact same thing and emulate the exact same level of success as the original. The show should feel different and it's good a sign that already producers are promising fresh changes.

Giving Viewers a Voice

The thing that takes the new twists to levels of brilliance is capitalizing on viewer involvement. Since Big Brother always allows the option of the audience getting to watch the cast (mostly) 24/7, the hardcore fans get heavily invested. There is more sense of ownership among Big Brother fans than any other reality show. Since Big Brother: Over the Top will literally require a financial investment to watch, the audience should be rewarded. The people paying to watch Big Brother: Over the Top are the type who are already care deeply about the game and that means they should make reasonable and sensible choices.

Big Brother 18 Finale Recap: Who Is the Winner? >>>

Big Brother 18, while very entertaining, saw the houseguests make a lot of emotional and downright foolish moves. The houseguests played and voted emotionally, not wisely, especially during the final jury. Big Brother 18 would have played out a lot differently if fans were in charge. Paulie would have been evicted far earlier. Nicole and Corey would have probably followed right behind and the right person (Paul) would have won the season.

Giving the fans a voice in the Big Brother house is the exact right way to reward them in Over the Top. It does change the game but Over the Top is not Big Brother. There is a reason that it has its new stupid subtitle. Now we are beginning to understand the reason, and it is a exciting one. The promise of ways to influence the game probably won't attract every fan to Over the Top but it will attract the hardcore ones. With a new experience like this one, that's exactly the type of fans Big Brother: Over the Top needs.

What do you think of this twist to Big Brother: Over the Top? Are you planning to watch? Do you think you'll be voting on evictions, nominations and ultimately, the winner?

Big Brother: Over the Top begins Wednesday, September 28 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on CBS All Access.

New cast revealed here:

http://bigbrothernetwork.com/big-brother-over-the-top-cast-2016-revealed/

Judging solely on appearances it looks like a fairly standard BB cast. The pretty boys, the femme fatales, the girl next door, the feminist activist, the hayseed, the geek, the laid back surfer type, etc.

Presumably they will have video interviews soon and we can make more precise judgements. I will stick around....

'Big Brother: Over the Top' Reveals 12 New Houseguests Including Sisters

John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

CBS has revealed the 12 new HGs who will be competing on the digital fall season of Big Brother, a list that includes two sisters. They will be joined by either season 17's Jason Roy or season 18's Jozea Flores to compete for $250,000 on the brand-new CBS All Access series that will see the fans vote for the winner.

Big Brother: Over the Top Full Schedule>>>

Here's the cast for Big Brother: Over the Top.

Alex Willett: A 25-year-old animation designer from Texas who describes herself as a huge superfan, watching live feeds and even following alums on social media. Her favorite player is Dan and least favorite is James.

Morgan Willett: Alex's 22-year-old sister, a publicist also from Texas. She lists her favorite players as Frankie and Nicole, while her least favorite is Victoria, suggesting she's only seen season 16.

Whitney Hogg: A 21-year-old medical assistant from Kentucky with blue streaks in her hair. Her favorite player is Janelle and least favorite is Amanda Zukcerman because she was annoying.

Danielle Lickey: A 23-year-old pre-school teacher from California. Her least favorite player is Zakiyah for not taking advantage of her position with the guys.

Neeley Jackson: A 33-year-old sales association from Texas whose favorite player is Janelle and least favorite is season 14 winner Ian Terry because he was too whiny.

Kryssie Ridolfi: A 31-year-old waitress from Chicago who was in a viral video being rude to a customer. She was recruited and admits she only started watching older seasons a month ago, though she says season 11's Casey is her favorite.

Shelby Stockton: A 24-year-old law school graduate from Arizona who was recruited. She apparently watched season 12 recently because she says her favorite player is Hayden Moss (because he's hot and went to ASU) and her least favorites are Monet and Britney Haynes because they just talked smack.

Shane Chapman: A 24-year-old roofer from North Carolina, he's only seen the last two seasons and thinks the show is similar to The Real World.

Scott Dennis: A 24-year-old debt collector from Maine, he's the nerdy superfan virgin whose favorite player is Danielle Reyes.

Justin Duncan: A 27-year-old seafood restaurant owner from New Orleans, he was recruited and originally auditioned for MasterChef, but he seems to know almost nothing about the game.

Monte Massongill: A 25-year-old engineer from Mississippi, he liked Hayden Mozz but didn't like Enzo from season 12.

Michael "Cornbread" Ligon: A 41-year-old foreman of a tree-removal company from Georgia. His favorite player is Donny and he's a three-time champion at the Redneck Olympics.
