Hawaii 5-0

They are planning a remake of Hawaii 5-0. In this Garrett's son will now be the chief police guy. Alex McLoughlin of Three Rivers is the lead, and Daniel Something who plays Jin on Lost is his sidekick. James Marsters will be the bad guy in the pilot episode.

Always liked Hawaii 5-0!

James is going to be a recurring villain....slippery Eurotrash with sunglasses and a fast car who runs guns and is a human trafficker.

Ok so Hawaii 5-0 had one of the COOLEST openings. The music and shots of the hot Hawaiian guys rowing that polynesian canoe (who were from the closing credits apparently) through the waves; TOTALLY AWESOME!. But best of all was the shot introducing Jack Lord from far out that click pulls into him on the balcony. I LOVE that.

I know it's hard to keep track of your Uncle Billy so here's a quick update. I was just cast in the pilot of the new Hawaii 5-0. Yay! Now before you get your "book 'em Danno"s in a bunch, I play Alex O'Laughlin's dad. Not his "just-out-of-prison" uncle like I did in "Three Rivers". He's the new McGarrett. I won't give away the exciting plot twists of this cool new version of that old fav, but I'm in Hawaii right now doing fittings and getting ready to shoot on Monday. Their picking me up at 6:00AM.

See?!! My friends on this board get all the inside poop faster than anyone else on the inter-web. When it comes to poop, no one gets it out faster.

Who's the female lead/love interest ? There has to be one for someone in the cast....

I don't think Jack Lord ever allowed any of that stuff. There is a sister I believe. Don't know if that's been cast yet.

Yeah, but O'Laughlin isn't Jack Lord...I suggest they bring in Sophia Myles or Shannon Sossaman from Moonlight, preferably both.

I heard about this on the radio the other day and knew about Daniel Dae Kim. I got really excited reading down the thread and learning that James is going to be in as well. But, now to hear "Uncle Billy" is going to be in it too? Berry! How will you ever recover from this? Don't worry...I'll be passed out right beside you.


This is must see TV. So when does it start?

It's a pilot for the fall, I would guess. Nothing definite til May announcements of fall scheduling. But since Alex Loughlin is a "darling" of CBS...chances of a pick-up are very good.


I AM so excited. It's like I just imagined what my very favorite scenario would be and now it is happening. They are not only both in the pilot, but they have scenes together.

Sounds exciting but just can't see Alex McLoughlin as Jack Lord/Det. Steve McGarret though!

This show will have differences from the original. Don't think you will be thinking of the old tv show for long. 8)

Never heard of Taryn Manning. After looking at her site I will reserve judgement until seeing her, if it's picked up.

Every week. I like it. Gorgeous scenery, lotsa action and fun characters. What's not to like?
