Being Human
Anyone watching the Americanized version that started a couple weeks ago? I've checked it out and it seems ok. I only saw a couple of the original so I'm not sure how it compares.

Re: Being Human
I think the casting is surprizingly good. That's what has killed the last few Britain to America programs I've seen. So I'm watching this one, when I get a chance. Liked the last one where the vampire guy has some emotional stuff to get thru. Thought he was good at protraying that without being overboard.

Re: Being Human
No argument there. Their casting was brilliant....especially for Wolf Boy.
In the American version, I think the ghost girl is the weak link.

Re: Being Human
Yeah, I started watching this season when I saw that Dichen Lachen was cast. It's pretty good....the women are mostly cry- babies about their condition, except Dichen..... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Being Human
There's one thing that you can say about this show....there isn't a shred of hopefulness or optimism in any of the plots or characters. I guess that the pretty Dr. that was the werewolf's girlfriend is being dropped from the cast, with one episode to go. That sort of bums me out, but I don't know how else to interpret it, after she gets killed, becomes a ghost, and walks through 'the door', which I assume means that she is never coming back as a ghost, unlike Sally who is 'stuck' here for some reason. I don't understand the metaphysical underpinnings of their various 'existences' but anyway.... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Being Human
Good grief ! A 3 way cliffhanger for the season finale. All 3 major characters are in peril for one reason or another, each reason being completely different and supernatural except for the gun shot..... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Being Human
A pretty good season premire. Now that Sally is reanimated she'll get to wear some better clothes . Going two season with the same old gray sweater/tank top and pants was getting boring but ghosts don't have many wardrobe choices....
She was on Craig Ferguson recently and was hardly recognizable in her stylish clothes and make-up.

Re: Being Human
It must get boring for her having to wear the same clothing every episode as well. In theory all ghosts/spirits would be completely naked. But that would not work very well on TV. :P

Re: Being Human
I wouldn't think that this should affect the American version since the actors, stories, production, etc. are completely different.....I hope it won't.

Re: Being Human
So Sally's corporeal body is gradually decomposing and she becomes a ghost again in a rather convoluted way but at least she has more 'stylish' clothes than her last time as a ghost.
Meaghan Rath is obviously Indian, quite rare for a female lead in any show, and being Canadian she must be a member of an Eastern Canadian tribe but I can't find any info on which one.

One episode to go this season...
But this implies that she may be of actual Indian descent so wouldn't be a tribal member at all:
Rath is Austrian from her father's side and Indian from her mother's side, and has a younger brother named Jesse who is also an actor.

Re: Being Human
It's been a good season. Looks like they are almost back to normal except for a new young vamp to take care of and teach who has been dead/asleep for the last two episodes.

Re: Being Human
With one ep to go don't bet on it being "back to normal". They usually have a cliff hanger.
