Almost Human
This trailer gives more info than what the TV trailers have shown. It looks possibly okay as long as the robot (technically an android) isn't the "moral guardian" of the pair and is always telling his human partner that they should do things differently. I caught a possible whiff of that in the trailer. If it turns out to be true I won't be watching.

Re: Almost Human
I'll watch but it does seem this area has been explored and re-explored many times in sci-fi literature, TV and film over the years. It will likely happen that the Banjo. But hopefully not ever week.

Re: Almost Human
I like John Laroquette. I will give this one a try. I like to find shows that everyone in the house can enjoy (for DWTS and Project Runway I am sent to my room to watch alone.)

Re: Almost Human
Minka Kelly was on Live ! with Kelly this morning plugging it. She's a good choice for the female lead.

Re: Almost Human
For some reason I have this marked on my calendar for today. But I'm wrong, the official site says there will be a 2-day premiere on Nov. 17-18.

It was pretty good. It had the 'feeling' of Bladerunner, Minority Report, I Robot, Continuum , etc. but that's inevitable given the subject matter. The only problem I have with these shows set in the near future is that the cities, cars, etc. are always too advanced. This one is 35 years in the future, the city is a fantastic 'wonderland' of futuristic buildings, flying vehicles, etc. Think back 35 years to the condition, architecture, etc, of any major U.S. city. How much have they changed from then to now ? New buildings here and there, etc. but not any really major changes. Why would 35 years in the future be any different ? As far as the flying vehicles....they always appear to be using some sort of anti-gravity drive.....massive breakthrough in fundamental physics ?....

Re: Almost Human
I agree with everything said and won't spoil by putting in my 2cents. Craig and I are on the edge of not watching this but we can discuss it when Rus has time to watch it. I love to watch John Laroquette as well. I like his character but there are some bothersome things.....
Re: Almost Human
I watched both last night.

I finally caught up with both eppies. This is good by me. I like the robot partner a lot.

Re: Almost Human
"When smart homes attack" is the basic premise of this week's episode.

Re: Almost Human
When I saw that premise I thought of this story that I read in Jr. Hi., the details are completely different of course. The short story could have made a good TV prod. back in the day but now would be 'obsolete'.

No info on this. Looks like he used the title and premise, otherwise.....?

Another of his stories that I will always remember;

I am so low-tech that this premise really terrifies me. They had me at the house will suck all the air out of the place in 5 minutes!

Re: Almost Human
If it would scrub the floors and clean the bathroom, I'd put up with a lot of other "dangers" .

I hear this one is "on the bubble" . Too bad, I'd like to see it continue.

Re: Almost Human
It's been on hiatus, or at least I haven't seen new eps lately. Hiatus is never good...
It wasn't as good on average as "Being Human" which wrapped it's series finale on Monday with a 'happy ending'. Sally and Aidan went to heaven and Nora and her husband had two babies who they named Sally and Aidan. And their old Boston row house where they had all "lived" for 4 seasons burned down and destroyed the malevolent, female, teen age 'spirit' who had taken up residence there, so we don't have to worry about her any more. Whew ! The "physics of the mythology" was more complicated but I won't bore you.

Sad to say, I thought of all the Sci Fi new shows this one was the best.

Re: Almost Human
I'm sorry about Almost Human. I thought the two stars had great chemistry.

Re: Almost Human
It would have had a better chance on the SyFy channel, or even on the CW, although there they would have had to bring in some '20-30 somethings' that could take their shirts off a lot and lip lock with the female stars.
