Fox Announces 2011-12 Television Schedule
Fox has announced their 2011-12 primetime television
schedule and I have to admit that I'm encouraged by the upcoming slate of new
dramas for the fall.
What's New?
Meet the New Dramas
Terra Nova
Steven Spielberg brings his special brand of epic storytelling to the small
screen with this incredible adventure set 85 million years ago. The year is
2149 and planet earth is literally dying -- it's overpopulated, over-polluted
and our vegetation and animal life are all but gone. Scientists have found a
way to go back in time to correct our mistakes, so a colony of humans are sent
back 85 million years to try and save the planet. The colony is called Terra
Nova, and is filled with people with different backgrounds and specialties who
must battle the elements (and some very large prehistoric creatures) and work
together to make the colony a success -- but there may be some sinister
elements at work inside Terra Nova!
Cast: Jason O’Mara as Jim Shannon, Stephen Lang as Cmdr. Nathaniel
Taylor, Shelley Conn as Elisabeth Shannon, Landon Liboiron as Josh Shannon,
Naomi Scott as Maddy Shannon, Alana Mansour as Zoe Shannon, Mido Hamada as
Guzman, Christine Adams as Mira, Allison Miller as Skye.
Alcatraz - Midseason
The famous prison that housed some of some of America's most violent and
notorious criminals comes to life in this drama from Lost creator J.J.
Abrams. When Det. Rebecca Madsen works a murder investigation, she soon
discovers the fingerprints belonging to her prime suspect are those of a former
Alcatraz inmate who died decades ago. Her investigation is then suspiciously
impeded by government agent Emerson Hauser, so Rebecca then teams up with Dr.
Diego Soto, a renowned expert on Alcatraz. The two soon discover the former
prisoner hasn't aged a day in 50 years and are horrified to learn that more
prisoners may soon reappear, leading them to dig deeper into the secret history
of this mysterious prison.
Cast: Sarah Jones as Det. Rebecca Madsen, Jorge Garcia as Dr. Diego
“Doc” Soto, Sam Neill as Emerson Hauser, Parminder Nagra as Lucy Banerjee, Robert
Forster as Ray Archer, Santiago Cabrera as Jimmy Dickens, Jonny Coyne as Warden
Edwin James, Jason Butler Harner as Associate Warden E.B. Tiller.
The Finder - Midseason
While serving our country in the Army Military Police, Walter Sherman is blindsided
by an IED and upon waking from his coma, he realizes that the brain damage he
suffered has given him the special ability to locate people and object nobody
else can find. Walter decides to put his gift to work and sets up shop in Key
West, taking on cases for the military, politicians and other powerful figures.
He is assisted by Ike, a beautiful woman with a mysterious past, and Leo Knox,
a former lawyer who serves as Walter's legal advisor.
Cast: Geoff Stults as Walter Sherman, Michael Clarke Duncan as Leo Knox,
Saffron Burrows as Ike Latulippe.
Touch - Midseason
Kiefer Sutherland returns to the small screen as Martin Bohm, a struggling
single father to a 10-year-old mute, severely autistic son. When the state
comes in to assess their living situation and determines that further
involvement is needed, Martin discovers that his son has an amazing and very
rare ability to see patterns that connect everything. As his son communicates
these events through numbers, it's up to Martin to help decipher these numbers
and connect these patterns to the people they affect.
Cast: Kiefer Sutherland as Martin Bohm
