CBS Announces 2011-12 Television Schedule
As in previous years, CBS will head into the fall with the majority of their dramas intact and only a few new dramas on the horizon.
Last year, the network shook up the schedule a bit and this fall they are shaking things up again. Thursday night staple CSI will pick up and move to Wednesday nights to make way for the new superstar in town: J.J. Abrams much-touted new crime thriller Person of Interest.
Also packing their bags from the Tuesday night time slot and moving to Sunday nights is The Good Wife. This is a very risky move considering that it took years for CBS to find a winner in the Tuesday 10pm time slot. It should be interesting to see how the new drama Unforgettable fares this fall.
Canceled Dramas: The Defenders and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
Meet the New Dramas
A Gifted Man
Dr. Michael Holt, a brilliant and charming (work-obsessed) surgeon, gets the shock of his life when his diseased ex-wife Anna appears to him and begins teaching him the meaning of life. Anna, an idealistic doctor who devoted her life to her free-clinic, encourages Michael to begin working at the clinic, where he soon looks at the world in a whole new light.
Cast: Patrick Wilson as Dr. Michael Holt, Jennifer Ehle as Anna, Julie Benz as Christina, Liam Aiken as Milo, Margo Martindale as Rita, Afton Williamson as Autumn.
Person of Interest
Lost creator J.J. Abrams brings his brilliant mind to CBS with this chilling crime drama about a presumed dead ex-CIA agent who teams up with an eccentric billionaire, who has created a software program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes. The two work together (outside the law) to prevent crimes before they happen and make a difference in the world.
Cast: Michael Emerson as Finch, James Caviezel as Reese, Kevin Chapman as Fusco and Taraji P. Henson as Carter.
Unforgettable
Poppy Montgomery returns to CBS as Carrie Wells, a former police detective with the rare ability to remember everything...every event, every person, every conversation, every emotion. The one thing she can't seem to remember are the details of her sister's unsolved murder. When Carrie is asked to consult on a homicide case, she is reunited with her ex-boyfriend Al and ultimately winds up permanently joining his unit, where one of her cases will involve solving her
sister's murder.
Cast: Poppy Montgomery as Carrie Wells, Dylan Walsh as Detective Al Burns, Kevin Rankin as Detective Roe Saunders, Daya Vaidya as Detective Nina Inara.

OK, so at least we have one watchable show each night, all returning shows, and maybe three on Monday if the new 2 1/2 Men turns out good. And two on Thursday....otherwise

Wow, I watch only one show on CBS...Hawaii 5-0. Nothing else is even tempting.
