Looks like a typical crew, doctors, lawyers, business people, blue collar. Two "mystery all-stars" to show up later...

Here's the "problem" with Survivor as I see it, although I'll still watch; It's already in the can, all episodes, so we're just watching history not present reality. This makes it difficult for fan interaction plus being on only one hour per week exacerbates the difficulty. Of course there is no way to watch live feeds, even if the show took place live every week. So all in all it's not nearly as engaging as Big Brother which still rules as the best reality show ever conceived or will ever be conceived. The one thing that Survivor has going for it is that the fans don't get so emotionally involved to the point of depression and/or elation at the plight of the players.....don't ask....

The rumors were correct. These were the two that were expected to be picked. I don't remember much about Ozzy, he was a fan favorite, but Coach was one of those guys that seemed to be skating on the thin edge of sanity.

The best thing about this season's premier is that it is followed by the finale of Big Brother.....and then we can rejoin the mainstream of society, although if truth be told the mainstream is the audience and fans of BB.... two thumbs up

Two ‘Survivor’ Favorites Join the Cast of ‘Survivor: South Pacific’
Ozzy Lusth and Ben "Coach" Wade (CBS)

It’ll be the Challenge Player squaring off against the Dragon Slayer this fall when Ozzy Lusth and Ben “Coach” Wade join the cast of “Survivor: South Pacific.” This will be the third appearance in the popular reality series for both men, however neither has ever taken home the show’s million-dollar prize.

When asked why the two favorites were invited back, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst said, “We looked at many different line-ups. We had all kinds of cards lined up with names, we had some women in the mix. We finally decided on Ozzy and Coach because they seemed to be an opposite-side-of-the-coin pairing. Ozzy is the real deal. He’s dominant in challenges, he’s like a fish in the water, he can climb a tree, he can start fire, he can build a shelter. Coach lives a life like he’s the real deal, but Coach really…a lot of people would say…is a pretender. And I love Coach, I adore Coach, but if you’re watching the show there’s still a question mark.

“So when we put them together, they were opposite sides of the coin who had one thing in common, and what they had in common was both of their social games suck. Ozzy got voted out with an idol in his pocket, and Coach…ugh…he fell in love with Jerri (Manthey) he needed guidance from Tyson (Apostol), he didn’t know what to do. So, both of these guys have a redemption story.”

Ozzy Lusth was the first runner-up in “Survivor: Cook Islands” and was the twelfth person voted out of “Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites.”

Ben “Coach” Wade was the fourth runner-up in “Survivor: Tocantins” and was the ninth person voted out of “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.” He was also defeated in the “Survivor: Nicaragua” Power Rankings by XFINITY TV’s “Survivor” fella Gordon Holmes.

Some of the new cast will be happy to see Coach and Ozzy, some won’t. Check out who the new players were hoping to see enter the game.

“Survivor: South Pacific” premieres Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

With the new season of Survivor starting on Sept. 14, just before the Big Brother finale, we need to turn our attention to its coming. Since there are no live feeds, and being on only once a week you don't have to worry that I will be doing daily postings. Not to say that I won't be doing my personal psycho-sexual analysis of the players.....you have been warned. There have already been live feeds on Super Pass of reviews of last season, but that seems redundant at this point, other than trying to get fans to extend their Super Passes for another three months to be able to visit the forums and chat rooms, but I won't be doing that. Until of course next July when Big Brother 14 is here !! clap woohoo

Buddy TV is the best site to keep up with Survivor, just as with BB.

'Survivor: South Pacific' Gives Ozzy and Coach a Third Chance
Wednesday, August 24, 2011

John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV

Survivor is keeping its "redemption island" twist alive by giving two former contestants another chance at the million dollars. The upcoming season, Survivor: South Pacific, will feature the return of Ozzy Lusth and Benjamin "Coach" Wade, two castaways making their third appearance on the reality show.

Ozzy, who finished 2nd and 9th his first two times around, will join the Savaii tribe while Coach will team up with Upolu, where he will be playing with Russell Hantz's nephew, Brandon (Coach played on the same tribe as Russell in Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains).

Let's look at their histories on the show.

Ozzy Lusth

Survivor: Cook Islands (season 13): Ozzy finished in second place, barely losing by a 5-4 vote to Yul Kwon. He won a ton of individual immunity challenges, but in the end, he was too much of a loner.

Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites (season 16): He went out in ninth place, getting voted out while still having a hidden immunity idol, this time because he wrongly trusted Parvati.

Benjamin "Coach" Wade

Survivor: Tocantins (season 18): In his first time around he finished in fifth place and was most famous for telling incredulous stories and essentially being a self-deluded person.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains (season 20): He finished in 12th place and once again had a rather poor showing. However, he admitted that he didn't like the way he was coming off on the show as a villain and the self-proclaimed "Dragon Slayer."

Will Ozzy be able to strike a balance between being a loner and trusting people? Can Coach really be less crazy and polarizing? Will either of them have the success Boston Rob Mariano had last season and go the distance, or will they be more like Russell and get voted out as soon as possible?

Survivor: South Pacific premieres Wednesday, September 14 at 8pm on CBS.
