Big Brother 14 -2012 Day 22
John has his britches in a twist..... Tonight's episode won't be filmed "live", say the producers. But then most of Thursday's show is recaps anyway so what's the diff. ? It's expected to be an ongoing endurance comp. tonight. Those often run on until After Dark time. There hasn't been one this season. It's still expected for Frank to be evicted.

'Big Brother 14' Recap: Shane Flips the House
John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV
Shane Meaney, the current Big Brother 14 HoH, is a house flipper. Literally, that's his profession in the real world. So it's only fitting that he completely flips the house this week in an episode full of everything I HATE.
There's Joe, who shouts all of the time and hurts my ear drums. There's Janelle, who is positively sociopathic with her lies and emotional manipulations. And there's Shane who is too dumb to realize that getting rid of a strong player only gives everyone else more of a reason to go after him in the future.
Nomination Aftermath
Janelle immediately goes to work kissing Britney's butt like the total sociopath she is. Seriously, Janelle is so phony this season that it hurts to watch. Luckily Britney is smart enough to realize that Janelle went from her team to Boogie's team and now back to Britney's team. Janelle tries to say her team promised Frank their votes last week. Um, isn't her team responsible for Frank staying in the house the first week? By my math, that should mean Frank owed Janelle's team, not the other way around.
Then Janelle has a team meeting with Wil, Joe and Ashley telling them all to swallow their pride and suck up to Shane. She literally tells Joe EXACTLY WHAT TO SAY, and it's so damn depressing and boring to watch. I don't want to watch Janelle use her three players like pawns, making them do everything she wants them to do. And I really hate that the newbies are so stupid that they go along with it.
Joe thinks Shane needs to learn some manners because he's getting a big ego based on a few competition wins. The only problem is that Shane's big ego is completely deserved, because, after tonight, he has won five of the first six competitions. It's easy to think you're better than everyone else when you ARE better than everyone else.
Another Veto for Shane
Danielle, Wil and Frank are picked to play. It's a circus theme and the HGs who aren't playing get to enjoy cotton candy and other delicious treats. Not playing in PoV competitions this season is the best reward, because last week they got margaritas.
The HGs must push two balls up separate inclined planes at the same time and keep them from falling on the ground.
Wil and Joe are the first two out, proving how bad they are at competitions. Frank is out next, followed by Danielle. I don't think it's a coincidence that the two simplest-minded HGs are the ones left, because this is the kind of challenge where you need to turn your brain off and repeat the same movements over and over again. Ashley is very good at turning her brain off, and Shane is about as complicated as a golden retriever.
Shane wins this third straight Power of Veto! Now I think it's OK for Shane to have a bit of an ego because he's done what only one other person in the history of this show has done: He's won three PoVs in a row (season 9's Crazy James Zinkand did it as well).
So Many Options
After winning, Shane gloats about all the options he and Britney have. They're both disgusted by Janelle's team doing nothing but floating to the power and how Britney doesn't want to hear their nonsense, especially Joe's loud mouth (which Britney does a spot-on impression of).
Janelle immediately comes up to the HoH room after the PoV competition to talk game and throw Frank under the bus some more. Janelle doesn't want them to take out a weak player when they could take out a big threat. You mean like how Janelle's team took out Kara in week 1 instead of Frank? It never ceases to amaze me how people who talk about how much they hate floaters are the same ones who immediately tell others they need to take out the big competitors.
Wil and Ashley come upstairs too and Janelle suggests working together for longer than one week to take out Boogie's team. You mean two weeks, since the only people left would be Ian and Jenn?
Janelle then admits that she's a total psycho for offering to give Shane her wedding ring for three weeks as proof that she wants to work with them. Shane and Britney refuse to accept it. Janelle says Shane needs to keep emotions out of it, which is stupid because she just tried to emotionally manipulate him by talking about how much she loves her wedding ring.
Joe then pledges his undying loyalty to Shane, talking about how hard it was leaving his family. He promises to turn against his team and protect Shane at all costs on the lives of his entire family. Is this the kind of strategic gameplay without emotions Janelle was talking about? I'm disgusted by how easily manipulated Shane is by emotional heartstring-pulling.
While all of this hardcore ass-kissing is going on, Boogie and his team are relaxing because they have a deal with Shane and they assume it's still in place. What they fail to realize is that Shane is very easily manipulated.
Dan's Sushi Party vs. Wil's Birthday Party
As filler, Dan, the coaches, Danielle and Shane have their outside sushi party. They dress up and it's very sophisticated. Except for Shane, who uses a fork.
But inside is where the crazy party is since it's Wil's birthday and he's in a speedo and a jacket. A game of Spin the Bottle ensues where Ian has an awkward kiss with Ashley (who is clearly not into it). And Shane and Danielle kiss while everyone squeals with delight like a bunch of sixth graders. I find it interesting that they don't include the moment where Boogie and Ashley sucked face, because that totally happened and it was disgusting. Also, Ian and Wil streaked. They left a lot of good stuff on the cutting room floor, so click HERE for the juicy bits you didn't get to see.
Flip That House
Britney talks to Ian who says that there are no "foreseeable circumstances" under which he would nominate Shane next week. That makes Britney and Shane uneasy, so now they want to work with Janelle because they don't trust Boogie. They put all of the blame on Ian, but somehow it's Frank who would be the replacement nominee.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what just happened. Shane and Britney just seemed to turn against Frank for some innocuous comment Ian made. Britney and Shane also try to talk about how the only way to secure the vote is to nominate someone on Boogie's team. It's all just a bunch of idiotic B.S. that makes no sense to me.
How can Shane and Britney spend almost the entire episode talking about how Janelle is the worst person in the world and completely untrustworthy, then, at the last minute, put all of their eggs in her basket because Ian didn't say the exact words Britney wanted to hear?
Worst of all, this week is once again falling into the same pattern of the entire season, with HGs being targeted not because of what they do or who they are, but because of who their coaches are. This season is all about the coaches, and as a Big Brother purist, I'm so over it. Just like many fans (myself included) said last season, if CBS wants to do another All-Stars season, then just do another All-Stars season. Don't do this mixed crap.
The Replacement
Joe's speech is about how Shane needs to be like the President of the United States and use the power of veto. It's easily the dumbest thing anyone has ever said this season.
Shane decides to save Ashley and nominate Frank. And just like that, Janelle gets exactly what she wants and Shane turns his back on a powerful ally to team up with a group of useless sloths who couldn't win a competition if it was picking a number from 1 to 10.
I feel bad for Shane because he's playing the Jeff Schroeder game, and that always ends in getting evicted in fifth or sixth place. Jeff also had a strong showmance with a Southern belle, and he won the HoH and PoV in the same week both times he played, using it as a chance to backdoor a strong opponent (Russell in season 11 and Daniele in season 13). This story does not end well for him.
Boogie immediately gets up and runs out of the room while Janelle lets out a vicious, evil smirk, like a Disney villain who just successfully murdered 101 puppies to make a coat.
Tune in tomorrow night for the "live" eviction. It's in quotation marks because the HGs have been told that tomorrow's episode won't actually be filmed live, which should clue everyone in to the fact that there's gonna be a great big twist tomorrow that involves the coaches coming into the game.

Re: Big Brother 14 -2012 Day 22
OMG !!! What a twist ! Julie reveals that America's vote gave the coaches the option of going into the game as players. Only one yes vote from the coaches is needed for all 4 to come in. Here's how they voted:
Brit hits reset button and it's official
Boogie voted no
Dan votes yes
Janelle votes yes
Boogie only one who voted no and yet it saved his player.
Also, because of the coaches coming in there will be no eviction tonight and Boogie's player Frank is saved .
Now on to the HOH comp.
Big Brother 14 Week 4 HoH Competition – ‘Walk the Plank’:
The HGs are perched on a small ledge aside a pirate ship. The last HG standing wins HoH.
15 minutes in, no one has fallen off yet.....periodically sprayed with water and platforms tilt forward.
Boogie goes in at the 1:03 mark ! 11 left !
Jenn goes in a minute later ! 10 left !
Joe goes in at 1:05 ! 9 left !
The rest still on at the 1:30 mark ! The pivot bearings on the pirate ship hull are creaking badly every time it tilts over. Needs lubrication. It would be a hoot if they had to call the comp because of a set malfunction....
Ashley went in at the 1:43 mark !
Dan went in at 1:44 ! 7 left !

'Big Brother 14' Spoilers: Week 4 HoH Results Live Blog
John Kubicek
Senior Writer, BuddyTV
It's finally here, the first endurance competition of Big Brother 14. Everyone loves these because it shows just how bad you want it. HG will hang onto things and suffer punishment for hours just for the chance to win.
On Thursday's show we saw the game get completely reset as the coaches were allowed to reenter the game. As a result, both nominees were safe, all four coaches are now playing and everyone (even outgoing HoH Shane) gets to play. The entire season is basically starting over.
The endurance HoH competition puts the 12 HGs on thin planks on a pirate ship that makes them lean forward. The last person to stay on wins. And there's rain. This is gonna be rough. And long, because we have some All-Star competitors from the coaches, some newbies who want it bad, and a situation where no one feels safe because the entire game is reset. I can assure you that while everyone kind of knew the coaches were coming into the game tonight, NO ONE was predicting there would be no vote.
I'll be offering live feed updates throughout the night until we have a winner.. All times are PT, which is the local time in the Big Brother 14 house.
7pm: When the show ended on CBS, all 12 HGs were still in the game. It's possible this wasn't actually live, so there's a chance that, when the live feeds turn on, the competition will be well underway.
7:10pm: I was wrong, the live feeds are back and everyone is still one. The four coaches are all next to one another, which I find interesting. Perhaps that's the sweet spot.
7:13pm: Joe is singing "Eye of the Tiger." Dan and Frank are commenting on whether the people watching the live feeds enjoy seeing the HGs get tortured like this. We do.
7:15pm: Boogie admits he won't be able to do this for long. He also says that everyone will be coming after him so Frank and Ian need to win it for him. It seems Boogie is still under the impression that there are teams. I'll be curious to see if that holds true.
7:19pm: Fake seagulls are flying around the HGs and cannon bursts spray them all with fake white "bird poop." Wow, it's like they're combining the surfboard AND the paint can endurance competitions from season 12. I have to give the edge to Ian, since he's the most similar to Matt Hoffman, who won both of those.
7:23pm: Boogie is getting pretty pessimistic about his chances, and the other coaches are now realizing that it's probably 8-4. Well, maybe and maybe not. That's the best part of this twist, there's no telling what will happen.
7:26pm: Boogie and Joe are looking bad. Frank, on the other hand, is happy-go-lucky and wondering if he can drink the water pouring down on them. Maybe, but if you do, you'd better be prepared to pee yourself later, cuz this coud go on for a while with 12 people.
7:27pm: Shane says Jodi would've fallen off already. Hilarious, and probably true. Although Kalia did a lot better than anyone expected last season on the skis.
7:32pm: Shane asks the coaches which one hit the Reset button. Britney says nothing while the other three deny it. Ooh, I didn't even think about THIS as another potential cause for drama.
7:33pm: It sounds like the first person to drop will have to read a card because the Have-Nots for the week are tied to the game. If it's anything like the past, the four HGs who last the longest without winning will be Have-Nots, which is a cruel way to punish people who try and reward people who quit early
7:35pm: Ian is being quite chatty, making pirate jokes, saying that Willie was actually right about the coaches coming into the game all along, and pointing out that, since the twist said some evicted HGs might come back, people like Jodi have probably been sequestered this whole time, but now she'll never get to come back in. It's just like Keith last season, who came back after being sequestered for four weeks only to lose in the vote to Brendon.
7:40pm: Boogie is miserable because the water is so cold. Ian has no problem because he's been a Have-Not for three weeks and could only take cold showers. That little dude has been preparing himself for this all season.
7:43pm: Frank, Wil, Shane and Ian are being quite vocal while Joe and Boogie are almost certainly going to be the first two out. Jenn is stoic, not moving, not talking. It's a good strategy, and Ashley and Danielle seem OK too.
7:44pm: Britney asks Ian if he'd put her up (because she knows this is his to lose). He says "Never." I wish he said, "That's not a foreseeable circumstance."
7:50pm: After one hour, everyone is still in it. But now they are not allowed to wrap their arms around the pole. This could be a long one, but I'm guessing they'll leave the boat tipped over and just drop water on them for longer periods of time to speed things up if it goes too long.
7:53pm: The HGs get shot with the bird poop paint cannons again.
7:54pm: Boogie is cursing up a storm, raging over the fact that the entire twist and concept of the coaches was totally undone. He's finally reacting to the fact that everything that came before doesn't really matter, and I feel particularly bad for him because he's the only coach who DIDN'T want to come back into the game.
8:02pm: BOOGIE IS OUT!
8:02pm: JENN IS OUT!
8:02pm: Boogie jumped off first and 30 seconds later Jenn followed.
8:04pm: JOE IS OUT!
8:04pm: It seems like no one wanted to be the first one out, but now that the seal is broken, people aren't afraid to drop. Joe had shoulder surgery, so he was definitely not built for this, but I wonder if Jenn dropped on purpose, knowing she's not anyone's target at this point. She's played the Invisible card all season, and now with the coaches involved, she can go into deep hibernation for a few more weeks.
8:13pm: Boogie, Joe and Jenn seem to concur that Britney, Ian and maybe Danielle have the best shot at winning this.
8:14pm: Shane is proving to be quite entertaining, praising Britney, then saying he doesn't need to suck up to her anymore because she's not his coach.
8:20pm: 90 minutes in and nine HGs are still holding on.
8:26pm: It seems Dan may have confessed to pushing the reset button, but Janelle and Britney are still denying it (but they both did it as well). I don't think anyone will believe that any of the coaches didn't press it, although we know Boogie didn't.
8:35pm: I'll have to check the history, but already I think this is the longest endurance competition in the last three seasons. For the past two years we had ones like Daniele Donato on the skis, Jeff Schroeder with the gumball slip-and-slide and Matt Hoffman with the surfboard and paint can, all of which ended in less than 90 minutes.
8:42pm: ASHLEY IS OUT!
8:44pm: DAN IS OUT!
8:44pm: It sounds like Ashley slipped while Dan jumped, either because of pain or to continue his "Throw Competitions" strategy.
8:48pm: Frank and Shane are eating protein bars from their pockets. Those have to be soggy as hell.
Survivors still hanging on at the 2 hour mark !
After Dark starting now ! One screen for each eye. I will be here for the duration.....

Re: Big Brother 14 -2012 Day 22
Frank goes in at the 2:08 mark ! 6 left. I thought that maybe the pirate ship hull would lean over more and more as time went on but it seems to have a range from upright to about 25-30 degrees toward horizontal. Getting doused with water and wind from in front and above ever 5 min. and simulated bird poop, and the constant tilting is gradually tiring so it comes down to a battle of wills.
Looks like Wil might be the next to go. They are keeping the hull tilt at a fixed ~10 degrees now rather than going upright periodically. That will hasten drop offs.
Shane and Wil both drop at the 2:37 mark. This leaves Ian as the only male left. this type of comp favors smaller, lighter players and he's probably the lightest person in the house.

Oh-oh, Janelle down at the 2:41 mark. It's now down to Danielle, Britney and Ian. It's going to be a long one. Longest comp in BB history was about 9 hours. I think Ian has the best shot at winning but it won't run that long.

Ian buys the farm at the 3:09 mark after being assured that he's safe from being nominated by Britney or Danielle ,the two survivors, then a minute later Britney jumps and Danielle is the new HOH ! First female of the season ! She deserves it, never looked to be suffering the whole time.
