The debate over who is the greatest Big Brother player of all-time is officially over. It's not Dr. Will Kirby, it's not Comp Queen Janelle Pierzina and it's not the hated Rachel Reilly. No, it's the Ninja Assassin Dan Gheesling.
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 14 spoilers.
Jenn won the Power of Veto. Ian didn't use his Veto Ball, but Jenn used her PoV to save Dan. Britney was the replacement nominee.
So now Britney and Danielle are on the block and 'common wisdom' says Britney will be the one voted out on Thurs. But nothing is certain in the BB house...
And that's why Dan is the best player ever, because 24 hours ago it was 100 percent confirmed that Jenn was not going to use the Power of Veto and Dan was going home. How did he do it?
Well, as part of the Power of Veto competition Dan was stuck in 24-hour solitary confinement where he came up with his epic master plan.
He came out Sunday night and called a house meeting. He wanted to preside over his Big Brother funeral and say goodbye to everyone. He had nice words for everyone, except Danielle. He said she's untrustworthy and she's dead to him in the game.
This obviously led to Danielle crying and everyone consoling her while talking about how ugly and mean Dan is. That gave Dan a chance to talk to Frank to expose EVERYTHING about Ian's involvement in the Quack Pack. Dan wanted to make a final 4 deal with Frank, Jenn and Danielle where Frank convinces Jenn to use her Veto to save Dan and backdoor Britney, because she's close with Ian the rat.
At first I assumed there was NO WAY this could work, but it did. Frank fell for it and Jenn ate it up too. Dan later told Danielle his mean words were all a ruse. The scene (which will certainly be in Wednesday's episode) was epic. Danielle was sobbing about how Dan hurt her feelings and Dan was grinning like the Joker because it was all a game move.
He really is a Ninja Assassin, able to completely separate game and emotions. He also knew others couldn't, so making Danielle cry was a part of his plan because it got everyone distracted. While Britney, Shane and the others were focused on Danielle's feelings, talking about how mean Dan is, he was gaming.
The fact that Dan's ploy worked is a testament to how incredibly good he is at this game. He was doomed, destined to get evicted and there was absolutely nothing he could do to save himself. But somehow he found a way to do it.
I've compared this year to season 12, and up to now it has been. This is the point of the game where Matt Hoffman was betrayed by the Brigade, but instead of turning on them, he remained loyal to his alliance and never sold them out. Matt got evicted for that unwavering loyalty, but Dan didn't make the same mistake. He saw the writing on the wall and refused to accept it. He turned on Britney, Shane and Ian to save himself. It might be cruel, it might be mean, but it worked.
You can't argue with results, and you can't argue with Dan's amazing abilities. Earlier this season Britney talked about THE MIST, Dan's way of speaking that tricks people into doing exactly what he wants because everything he says make so much sense. Well, the house just got misted. Or as we prefer to call it.....glamoured.
UPDATE: Following the ceremony, Ian got VERY angry and was yelling at Frank. He then went off and vowed to destroy Frank in this game, so Ian is no longer on the fence. And Britney is taking it as well as she possibly could. She's sad, but she gets that this is a game and she understands that she got played.
It's utter anarchy, and it's beautiful. Ian, Shane and Joe are all furious at Frank and totally confused about how this episode because they were absolutely blindsided and didn't expect this at all. They also believe Danielle had no idea this was going to happen.
So now Joe and Shane are trying to figure out what to do, especially since Shane has to choose between his best friend and his former coach, and Joe promises to vote however Shane decides.
Ian and Frank are continuing to FIGHT in front of everyone. It's hilarious because they're both cursing and threatening each other, and for the whole time, Frank is dressed like a giant carrot. Man, watching these two yell at each other is amazing. Everything is coming out, including the fact that Frank will definitely win if he makes it to the end and that Ian is close with Britney.
It is a pretty good possibility that Frank will make it to the final two or three, if he keeps winning HOH and POVs. But I would prefer Britney, Ian or Dan to win, even though he's won before.
