Big Brother 14 -2012 Day 47

Britney is still expected to be evicted tonight. Nothing has changed to significantly change this opinion.....meanwhile we are still reeling over Dan's brilliance...

But while I was watching BB After Dark last night on Showtime, there was a lot of activity in the kitchen/dining area where the wall covered with all the raised , silver dots was visible most of the time. I got to thinking....what if those dots are actually Braille letters/words rather than just decoration ? Are they some sort of 'inside joke' by the producers ? Will the 'secret' finally be revealed at some point before the end of the season ? I can't imagine how this could be... Maybe it's just a joke for us uber-fans to notice and figure out... Or maybe I'm just being paranoid....

I looked up some Braille translation sites but they all just translate from text to Braille. I need the opposite. I can just write down the pattern of the dots, which repeat on some panels top to bottom, but not left to right . Significant ?....Don't know....

I signed up at Buddy TV so I could message John Kubicek and see what he thinks of my hypothesis.....or maybe he'll just think, "Oh lordy, how did I get mixed up with these loonies ?

I used the 'flashback' feature to look at some video of last night showing the wall, unfortunately the frame won't 'save as' so that I could post it here, but anyway, the Braille hypothesis is inconclusive. I did find the letters G, N, R, and Z, but some others seem to be reversed and many don't show up in the Braille charts I found online. Also you have to account for punctuation marks, dates, etc. which complicates things but I did learn something about Braille...all the characters are represented in a 3 vertical, 2 horizontal box, giving 6 possible dots for each character. So learning that much is worthwhile and shows once again that Big Brother is the best value for your entertainment dollar, even if you have to work at it....

In the history of Big Brother, nothing comes close to the insane strategic brilliance that goes down in this week's Power of Veto episode. Dan is doomed. Frank and Jenn team up, take a ton of painful, game-changing punishments in order to ensure Dan gets evicted, and then he somehow manages to turn it all around.

How? Well, that's the beauty of this episode that fills me with giddy pleasure. He makes Danielle cry (which, granted, isn't very hard) and then somehow tricks Frank and Jenn into saving him.

The Original Plan

After nominations, Jenn finally decides to enter the game as a player by aligning with Frank. She's doing this at the right moment, because aligning with Frank last week proved disastrous for Ashley.

Meanwhile, the Quack Pack wants to stay alive by having Shane or Britney win the Power of Veto so both nominees can be saved and the Quack Pack can remain in tact. That's easier said than done.

The Power of Veto

Jenn, Britney and Shane get to play, and it's basically Punishment Pictionary where the HGs must guess a picture (from a Draw Something doodle) and if they're right, they have to take a punishment to win the points.

This poses a big problem for the Quack Pack, because there's no communicating allowed, so it's basically impossible to throw this competition as they planned. Britney gets mad when Dan starts buzzing in, but it's understandable because Frank gets off to a big lead. Since Dan can't actually ensure Britney or Shane can win (in fact, Shane gets zero points), it makes sense that he would go for it.

Frank is in the lead going into the final question, but he cheats by telling Britney the answer and gets disqualified. Dan would win, but Jenn takes the final punishment (being on Slop for the rest of the summer) in order to stop him. Knowing how it all ends, this is just plain hilarious, because she's doing this for no reason at all.

Here's a quick rundown of the punishments.

Frank: Avocado Bath, Chum Shower for 24 Hours, Wearing a Carrot Suit for One Week and Sitting Out of the Next Eligible HoH Competition

Britney: Shackled to Danielle for 24 Hours

Jenn: Burns Her Clothes and Goes on Slop for the Rest of the Summer

Danielle: Gets Pelted with Paint for Two Minutes

Dan: Eats Nasty Food and Gets 24 Hours in Solitary Confinement

Shane: Nothing

Dan's Master Plan

After 24 hours by himself, alone with his thoughts, Dan concocts the most epic master plan in the history of this game. He comes out dazed and confused, acting like a zombie. He calls a house meeting and announces this is his Big Brother funeral and he just wants to say goodbye to everyone.

He praises everyone, from Shane being a good guy to Ian being like a young him. But when he gets to Danielle, he says he can never trust her again and, in this game, she's dead to him. Cue Danielle's tears.

Was this real? Of course not, it's Dan the Man, playing this game better than anyone by making a girl cry as part of his master strategy.

With everyone else consoling Danielle, Dan goes upstairs with Frank to tell him all about the Quack Pack and how Ian was the rat who betrayed Boogie and Frank. He offers up a Final 2 deal (and, in the diary room, Dan claims he actually means it) if Frank can convince Jenn to use the Power of Veto on Dan to backdoor Britney, because she's Ian's closest ally.

Next up Dan has to go explain his plan to Danielle, smiling like the Joker as he tells her that he couldn't warn her ahead of time because he needed her tears to be real. Danielle calls him a sick person for intentionally using her emotions for strategy, but he takes pride in that fact. Dan's grin is priceless.

Meanwhile, Frank tells Jenn about Ian's betrayal and quite easily convinces her to use her PoV to save Dan, thus forming an alliance of Frank, Jenn, Dan and Danielle. Dan makes this look easy, but trust me, what he just pulled off was downright impossible. Luckily for him Frank is very emotional and all Dan had to do was use Frank's hatred of Ian.

The Power of Veto Ceremony

Ian goes first and doesn't use his Power of Veto. Then Jenn announces she will use her Power of Veto to save Dan. Britney's face is priceless, like a deer caught in the headlights of an 18-wheeler.

When Frank begins his speech about targeting Ian's closest ally, Britney, Ian's face is equally priceless, like a tragic Greek figure who just found out that the man he killed was actually his father.

So Britney is nominated and cries a river of tears. Dan, meanwhile, is ecstatic that he has a future in selling ice to Eskimos. As well he should, because I can't give enough praise to this man who orchestrated something so beautiful. This is why people call him Dan the Man.

Jenn burned her clothes and went on Slop for the rest of the summer. Frank took a chum shower, an avocado bath, a carrot suit and agreed to forfeit one HoH competition. And they both did all of that to ensure Dan got evicted. Then they flipped. It's an irony so delicious that Chef Joe couldn't create something half as good.

Watch Big Brother 24/7

Although it is Big Brother and things can “change on a dime” it’s pretty safe to say that Britney Haynes will be evicted from the Big Brother 14 house and become the second member of the jury.

Britney and Ian had a few heart-touching moments today inside the Big Brother house, they are FLASHBACK worthy if you are a Ian or Britney fan... but here’s a very quick sneak peek at some of the game talk that they shared as well....

Ian ( crying ) – I can’t help but feel responsible.. ( for Britney leaving )
Dan- all but 3 people leave.. you know..?
Ian- but I can’t help but feel somewhat responsible...
Dan- things happen for a reason... like Mike is home with his son and Janelle is home with her baby, we don’t always know what those reasons are ... but things happen for a reason ...
Dan excuses himself, leaves to use the restroom, and then gets called to the DR...

Britney checks on Ian

Britney - I hear you're having a rough time, Ian.. What? What's wrong?
Ian (chokes up ) then Last full day with you here.
Britney ( flashes him a smile )

Britney- you’ll be ok.... 3 weeks... it’ll fly by Ian ... don’t be trying to self evict so that you can come do yoga with me and Ashley in the jury house.. I know that’s you’re dream .... you’ll be ok ... but you’re gonna have to find a way to freaking make it through the next 3 weeks..
Ian - Do you think I if I don’t win HoH or Veto .. I’m gone?
Britney – no.. it depends on who wins HoH ..
Ian- who would I be good with ..
Britney – Danielle..
Ian- Shane?
Britney - yeah you’ll be good with Shane.... but right now you have to make sure you are still good with Dan and Danielle .... Danielle is planning to put up Frank and Dan... ( we know that’s not true ) .... and she ( Danielle ) WILL win that Endurance Comp. She will put up Frank and Dan..and then if someone wins the Veto .. I told her to put up Jenn.. she needs to do that ... but I'll talk to her one more time before I go. She needs to do that. I feel like Dan can wiggle his way back to her.. because lately she’s become more social with him..... but it's actually perfect for her to win HoH..

Britney- Of course! Are you crazy? .... you don't have to worry about that ever.

Ian – yeah .. like January, when I go back to school.
Britney- yeah.... It probably would help if you got a driver's license..
Ian - I'm gonna get that this fall....

Ian – when you get to the jury house, will you tell Ashley that you think I’m playing one of the better games in here?
Britney- yeah..

Ian – right now ... who do you think is playing the best game in here?
Britney - Dan.
Ian- yeah I agree... second best?
Britney – hmmmm... you or Danielle ... Frank is the the epicenter of the attention too much.
Ian -That's what I said last night.. I told him his social game sucks.. with him.. it’s either he wins or he’s on the block
Britney- it’s such a golden opportunity to get rid of him within the next 2 week...
Ian- I know ... it would be a shame if those 2 weeks were wasted...

Britney - What kills me so much .. is that he got completely misted by Dan, and he wont admit it. I'm like, you took away your ability to play in the next 2 HoHs to ENSURE that Dan left his house ... and then you use the veto on him....I mean .. what kind of an idiot .. and he continues to refuse to admit that Dan is smart... that Dan is a mastermind or that Dan can convince people of things.. he refuses to see that ... he’s like no.. Dan didn’t do anything.. like it was all his own plan... yeah buddy .. it was in your plan to wear a freaking carrot suit for a week, dye yourself green, sit out of the next 2 HoH’s and then skew the veto to be used anyway ... Oooo – kay!

Ian - And Jenn takes slop, when she could've just eliminated herself.
Britney – Exactly...she’s on slop when she could have just eliminated herself and let Dan win the thing.. but do you see how hysterical that is...
Ian – yeah
Britney- They think they are “playing the game”.... when all they're doing is eating out of Dan's hand.,, it’s really funny.... I mean total idiot.
Ian - You were so right about him.
Britney - Who Frank?
Ian - yes
Britney- He's a douche.
Ian- he’s a stupid douche

Britney- He is so egotistical. He wants everyone to say that he’s the best player .. he thinks he's the best to ever play this game. That's why he can't stand it if you talk about what a good player Dan is. You can watch his skin crawl.. he can’t stand to hear anyone say how good Dan is at this game.. it’s so funny .. and I have to admit I do it intentionally sometimes... He's an idiot.....don't let him bother you or intimidate you. He's dumb.
Ian- what are you gonna do tomorrow when you leave.. you going out peacefully?
Britney – yeah

Ian- sucks that it’s gonna be endurance... you’ll have to wear your dress.
Britney – Oh I’m wearing it anyways... I’ll probably put some athletic clothes in my BB bag... that I could change into real quick, if I needed to.. but there’s no way I’m wearing athletic clothes outta here.. it’s not happening

Ian- who are my friends here in this house...
Britney- Dan.. and Shane..
Ian – Dan and Danielle?
Britney – hmm mmmm

Ian - So I should keep Dan safe if I can?
Britney - You need to get Frank out ... deal with Frank first..
Ian – I agree
Britney – and then Jenn...they will go after you ... get rid of her too... if Frank wins the Veto .. then ...
Ian – Jenn?
Britney nods yes... I mean, Dan needs to go, but I don't think he would put you on the block.
Ian- me either .. I think Dan misted the 2 of them ... I think he will end of coming back to us ( what might remain of the Quack Pack) and then Joe will think he is with us...
Britney- yeah ... you'll be fine.

The House has been inside lockdown since 4:30 AM BBT and the house guests know very well that extended inside lockdowns on Wednesday’s mean one thing....

Dan - Lockdown City.
Shane - At least it's Endurance...

Danielle - I wonder what kind of Endurance it is? ...

We wonder too, Danielle! But whatever Big Brother can throw their way ... we know one thing for SURE...

The power is up for grabs once again on Big Brother 14. For the third time this season, an endurance HoH competition is upon us. The last two times saw Danielle win on the pirate ship and Shane win by filling his bowl with water

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains Big Brother 14 spoilers.

On Thursday's show, Britney was evicted and a new HoH competition began between Dan, Danielle, Shane, Ian, Jenn and Joe.

The competition involves the six HGs sitting on disks and holding onto ropes while being spun around a giant sun while things are sprayed at them. They are also hit by a giant comet during every rotation..

In addition, the first person to fall will open a mystery box that contains a punishment (although they don't know if it's a punishment or a reward).

I'll provide live updates as the action continues. Note that all times are PT, which is local time inside the Big Brother 14 house.

6:55pm: JOE FALLS OFF!

6:55pm: Yes, Joe fell off during the commercial break during the live episode. He will get the mystery punishment.

6:59pm: JENN FALLS OFF!

6:59pm: That's right, TWO people fell off during the live show. How sad for them.

7:08pm: The live feeds are back and the six remaining members of the Quack Pack are still in it.

7:10pm: Shane is the voice of encouragement, pepping up Danielle.

7:11pm: Danielle is crouching down.Shane looks fidgety like he doesn't know what to do. As a bigger guy, there's no way he'll win this.

7:13pm: The HGs are being constantly sprayed with paint and are complaining about their clothes being totally ruined after this

7:14pm: Shane is STILL getting the spray in his mouth and spitting it out. DUDE, SOPT EATING THE SPRAY!

7:16pm: Shane just said something clever. He looks at Frank and says "What's up, Doc?" because of the carrot costume.

7:20pm: Lots and lots of silent spinning. This is going to be a monotonous.

7:21pm: It sounds like Joe's punishment has something to do with a hula hoop.

7:24pm: Dan claims he can do this for 12 hours to see pictures of his wife Chelsea in his HoH room.

7:25pm: The slapping comet is back. Shane slams into it hard for fun, but then his disk starts spinning around very quickly.

7:27pm: DANIELLE FALLS OFF!

7:27pm: Danielle said she was going to throw up before she dropped.

7:29pm: DAN FALLS OFF!

7:29pm: Dan slipped off his disk and was hanging on by a thread before he fell.

7:31pm: Danielle started throwing up and the feeds cut away. Clearly the spray paint in the mouth and the spinning was not a good combination.

It's still going on. Ian and Shane are still hanging on.....will report winner as soon as it happens. It could be awhile, both seem to be doing okay. Ian is holding a quiz..."name more dwarf planets besides Pluto.".....Shane is clueless....


Shane is really struggling.....8:13 BBT....looks like Ian may win it......

Ian wins it ! 8:50 pm BBT.. his first HOH. Shane dropped after Ian promised he wouldn't backdoor Shane or Danielle. He will almost certainly nominate Frank, and either Joe or Dan.
