Continuum.. 2013
Starting a thread with the name.....
So Kiera did take off her bionic suit in the hotel and even though she was puzzled by the little bar of soap there's no reason to think that she didn't use it. So that clears up that crisis.
Then at the end that I missed before we see that William B. Davis is in 2077 and is the older Alec Sadler, in his 80's I would guess, the teenage whiz in 2012. And Kiera in 2012 won't tell him his fate and he believes it's not good, which doesn't seem to be true, but he does see the harm that his invention caused in the future which is why he was glad to see the rebels escape in 2077. Okay, that's all cleared up, bring on the next one.....

Re: Continuum.. 2013
New episode on tonight. They will replay the pilot right before it. Check your local listings for time. Seems interesting....Craig must like it he keeps asking me questions about it I can't answer.
Re: Continuum.. 2013
It's still good. There was one technical glitch in the last ep: When Alex tells Kiera to steal the Prius because it has "a keyless ignition", that isn't true. It has an electronic key, like many late model cars, that looks like a fat domino and plugs into a slot in the dash which then lights up and enables the engine start by pressing the red 'start' button. Without that key fob she ain't goin' nowhere. But even if she had one it would be a mystery as to how to use it, as it is to any first-time Prius driver. The slot is covered by a flap and there is no clue as to how to proceed without reading the owners manual. And once she did get it started, banging back and forth in the parking slot is unlikely given the CVT transmission which is rather reluctant to move the car even when prodded by an experienced Prius driver. I've driven probably 10-15 of the silly things...
Other than that, it was a good episode. Of course the 'linear accelerator' was pure fantasy but they have to have some visual object to make it seem "real" since a real liner accelerator has no clue as to what it is or any visual appeal.
AR, pass Craig's questions to us. You know we can answer them.

Re: Continuum.. 2013
Lol ! He's asking the "future" questions about who and what is going to happen..my answer was, that's why we're watching it to see what the writers do.
He does ask me a "Roswell question" in regards to every show I get attached to. He ask me if the show I'm watching is like Roswell for me and then he always rephrases the question to say, are you as interested in this show as you were in Roswell?
No, there's only one Roswell and there's never going to be another. (Sigh)

Re: Continuum.. 2013
One thing that I'm going to start doing to amuse myself is to use Google Earth to look up various locations that I can identify from street signs that I see in a program. For example in the last Continuum ep we see the leader of the rebels arriving in 2012 by himself and later than the others, for some reason. They postulate that it was because he wasn't standing as close to the "explosion" as the others. Anyway, when he arrives in Vancouver we see a street sign, "Carrall St." near him as he looks down it and pictures how it had changed by 2077, which seemed a little optimistic to me. So...I looked up the street but can't find the exact view as shown in the episode. It's possible that Carrall St. is a cross street rather than the street he was looking down. I will investigate that possibility, it will take some time. Meanwhile here is what I thought was C. St. looking north. It dead ends about 4-5 blocks further on at a railroad yard.

Here we see it at the south end where it dead ends into a bay/marina. It's the street coming in from the left.

Here we see an aerial view looking north near the south end. It's the street that s- curves under the freeways. As you can see there is no matchup with the TV view. There are so many cross streets that he could have been looking down, it will take time to investigate and I'll have to watch the ep again to determine exactly how he was oriented in relation to C. St.

Also, I will look for the scenes filmed at the 'Sun-Yat-sen' Gardens. I believe he was a Chinese philosopher or emperor or sort of a Chinese Ghandi.

Re: Continuum.. 2013
The Sun-Yat-Sen Gardens are also on Carrall St. but I can't find the entrance where the rebel leader walks in and remembers being captured in 2077. I've "flown" all around the block and don't see a similar entrance. It must be in an interior court yard. Google Earth has its limitations because any given pic can be rotated but not 'zoomed' beyond a certain point. Here's the closest view that I could find but I'm pretty sure it's not it.

Another view from the opposite side of the gardens and an aerial view.

Re: Continuum.. 2013
Now that's all very interesting. Maybe someday there will be a "Continuum" tour the way there was a "Roswell" tour.

That seems like a lot of work. Good luck on your mapping project.

Re: Continuum.. 2013
It not hard to do with Google Earth, just depends on how thorough the original Google photo sessions were.
Speaking of Roswell tours, the Candy Lady in Old Town is thinking of starting her own Breaking Bad tours. Last year a guy started them with a small bus and charges $60 ! You will recall that my mini tour was considerably cheaper....
