William Shatner gets Nasa's Highest Civilian Award

Lots of people don't like Shatner. He's opinionated and doesn't mind voicing what he thinks. He's been known to be rude. He won this award because of his efforts to encourage kids to get into math and the sciences. I say that's well deserved. Having the dedication and inspiration to encourage our youth is greatest thing anyone can do.

He's the type that doesn't "suffer fools gladly" but he can't be faulted for his work in this area.
