Blue Bloods
OMG ! Det. Baker got a close up and more lines than usual in last night's ep. She is still the most under used cast member by far. But at least her close ups showed why she has fan boys, in case you couldn't figure it out.
The woman in the red outfit with the "braids" who is the 'manager' of the drug dealing kids was also in The Wire, also playing a drug dealer as well as a cold blooded killer of anyone who threatened her 'territory'. But she got a little carried away with the role and was actually arrested by the DEA for dealing in real life. She has had quite a "career", but at least she can still get hired....

Boy, nothing like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...just when she seemed to be on the road to success.
Of course, she got this role which was presumably after the arrest, so what do I know?

Re: Blue Bloods
So Abigail has more work than we see. Those indy movies don't play here usually but I'll have to keep an eye out.

I don't see what channel this will be shown on . Sounds like a good fit for Lifetime, presumably closer to Christmas...

Re: Blue Bloods
This is getting ridiculous. In last night's episode Abigail Hawk is obviously pregnant in real life, so of course her character Detective Baker would be too. But on the show they make no reference to it.
Normally an actress getting pregnant on a series is handled in one of two ways. They can hide the pregnancy, not write it into the script, have her hide behind furniture, wear bulky jackets, etc. and she sometimes finishes the season with no one the 'wiser'. This is the 'route' that they took on The Blacklist when Meghan Boone was pregnant. She got through the season before giving birth and her character was never pregnant on screen.
The other way to handle it is as on Bones where Emily Deschanel was pregnant in real life and they wrote it into the script so Brennan was pregnant on the show. Both methods work out okay, the latter causes more work for the writers probably.
But on Blue Bloods Abigail has been pregnant twice in real life, the first time in an earlier season. They dressed her in black clothes and she didn't have many 'stand up' scenes so it wasn't too obvious, but they made no reference to Det. Baker's condition in the scripts.
Now, this season they make no effort to hide her pregnancy but still make no references to it in the scripts. That seems crazy. Frank asks her how she is in the latest ep, but that's it. We know nothing of Det. Baker's back story other than her awards. Is she married, boy friend, ....what ? This is upsetting to her fan boys....

At least she got more lines of dialog in the latest ep.

Re: Blue Bloods
So last week someone asks, "Where's Baker ?" And Reagan replies, "In labor. " And that's the extent of recognizing Abigail's real pregnancy. At least they did that much. She probably won't be back on tomorrows ep either.

Re: Blue Bloods
it does strike me as odd, as well. We know whether his male assistants are married or not. It's almost as if they think she is not important enough to mention. When actually the people who watch think she is a warm and humanizing presence in his office.

Peter Hermann is best known for his role on "Younger" which I watch because Sutton Foster is in it.

Abigail in new film....before she was pregnant obviously.
https://www.facebook.com/almostparisfilm/
At least she's getting new work, if they won't let her do anything on Blue Bloods.

These are called Sugar Gliders. My vet takes care of a pair of them that one of her clients owns. Don't know what kind of care they require but they do like to glide down from heights in the house.

Re: Blue Bloods
Tom, Bridget, and Will were on CBS This Morning today. They will celebrate the 150th episode this Friday. Bridget said this is her longest gig by far since she started acting at age 26 after her modeling career. Tom said that some of the dinner scenes take 8 hours to film and after awhile they get sort of loopy seeing the same food on their plates, hour after hour. They credit the excellent writing for keeping plots from getting stale.

Re: Blue Bloods
So Abigail is back from her pregnancy and got better than usual screen time and dialog......and is looking good as usual..... Of course they will never mention the baby, real or fictional, but it is possible that she wants to keep a very low profile on the subject, real or fictional.

Re: Blue Bloods
Do you have the commercials with Tom Sellack trying to get people to have reverse mortgages in your area? I'm a bit disappointed in him. Doesn't need the money and obviously has not read all the reports of problems seniors have with these things (I know the concept is not horrible but the companies swoop in like vultures if you are a senior and forget to pay a tax bill or keep the property up to their standards etc....then the bank gets it all, you get kicked out.

He has that commercial here too. I think the same as you. I don't have a mort. So no danger of vultures.

They are filming S 8 now and even work on Sundays. Earlier she showed a pic of her and Donnie in the make-up room.
