Wonder Woman turns 75 !

I saw this interview on CBS Sunday Morning.   She said that people come up to her and ask, "Are you really 75 ?"

Linda Carter will be the definitive 'version' imho. We'll have to see how Gal Gadot does, it looks like her version incorporates the 'history' of the character.

75 and Ben is still looking forward to seeing her on Supergirl this week. He always did like "older" women. :D

I don't know why the distributors bother to even schedule it for those places... How many viewers will they miss ?

It's good that they let Gal Godot to retain her slight accent. You wouldn't expect an Amazon to speak perfect, American English , would you ?

Reviewers are liking the new version. Wonder Woman, to me, will always be Lynda Carter. She may be 75 which makes her old...but like me, she is a young oldster.

Looks like it's going to be a hit. Yeah, it's hard to beat Lynda Carter for glamour, but I don't remember how they introduced her backstory. The movie seems to follow the original comics more closely, and since they were published before the U.S. got into WWII, they used WWI as the greatest world trauma up to that time.

I very much want to get out and see it this week. The guys seem interested in going along too, so it's just a question of meshing schedules.

It lives up to its hype. I liked the first 1/2 to 2/3rds more than the last but all in all it was good.  Of course there were the historical aviation anomalies early on that shouldn't have happened given that the time frame was mid to late 1918. And another one at the end but that was an entirely fictional creation so can't  be critiqued. And a minor motorcycle anomaly that didn't detract from the overall 'mystique'.
Also  her 'side kicks' were apparently based on the early comics, not having read them I can't be sure but otherwise can't figure out why the present writers would come up with them, but they make more sense in the time and places of 1941, the original comics.

All of these will be pointed out in the geek-verse and we will wallow in our self righteous indignation while the 'normal' world rolls on and box office records are broken.

Gal Godot has a good future in Hollywood should she choose to take it, in more 'realistic' roles because she can actually act.

I decided to wait to see Wonder Woman after I get back from visiting family in a couple weeks. Seems like the reviews are largely positive. Looking forward to seeing it.

She'd better get a big bonus considering that 99% of the movies success was due to her, and she has a strong position to renegotiate future $$. I suppose back in 2014 no one could have predicted the $$ success of the movie and 300 K didn't seem so low.

There will be a bigger payday in her future. Like Jennifer Lawrence made $500,000 on the first hunger games movie and $5 million on the second film. That's a pay raise us mortals don't get a chance at.
