This is interesting because previously we had only heard that Gimple is planning  movies featuring Rick Grimes. But a new TV series is always welcome. Who they cast will be critical. All of the female actors on both TWD and FTWD have been popular with fans. It  doesn't seem likely that this actress.....

...will be one of the 'young female protagonists' that has come of age in the apocalypse because she is only 10 years old even though she has "come of age" first appearing as a toddler (a different actress) after being a largely unseen infant for several seasons after surviving at birth, her mother's death by being bitten by a Walker, forcing her son Carl to shoot her to prevent her becoming one herself. So now as Judith Grimes, she is one of the most popular female actors on the show. And being able to handle a big revolver and a smaller version of Michonne's Samurai sword is a big plus in that world !

Meanwhile there are rumors that Whiskey Cavalier will be cancelled (very low ratings in the 'desired' 18-34 demographic) and this will free up Lauren Cohan to come back to TWD.  In the past she has said that she's "not through with TWD" leading to speculation that she would work it into her sched. ,  that was about the time that she got the WC gig. How Maggie comes back will be interesting.  Her departure was very abrupt and mysterious as far as the writing and plot lines didn't reveal.

I'm not surprised about the Whiskey Cavalier situation. It was one of those that sounded like it would be fun on paper but the actors don't have much chemistry with each other and the plots never draw you in to forgetting you are watching "acting".

Yeah, it's rather formulaic and the mixture of 'comedy' and drama doesn't grab you. Haven't heard any official word about cancellation but the last rating period was .66 ! among the desired demographic. That is killer on the major networks !

Scott can do comedy better than that, and Lauren really needs to go back to TWD and take over leadership since Rick left and Tara got killed. Maggie was ruthless when necessary and with the Kingdom abandoned and its occupants heading to Hilltop, presumably, and the Whisperers still a threat they need someone who can step up and kick butt !
