A fairly typical group. 6 of the 8 women look to be "beauty contestant types", slightly higher % than usual. The one older guy, usually from 'fly over country', engineer this time. The several "beach bum" types, and of course the token gay guy.

If this is actually a planned 'casting twist' by production, I don't quite see the point. So some of them might (probably) know each other....what can they do to make an impact on the 'game'.  Team up ...? so what ? Successful teams, ie, those that stick together until the end, and are quite rare in BB history anyway,  have never known each other before the season. Knowing each other will prove to not be an important factor other than causing gossip and scheming among other "unacquainted " HGs.

No one leaps out as the "take charge, quasi-sociopath " type that attempts to dominate and take control right off the bat. Not every season has one. The waiter from Tenn. is a possible candidate this season.

Of course the 'nerdy girl' is almost always involved with education at some level. No surprises there, except this season has only one 'qualified nerdy girl' , whereas in past seasons there have been several.

This seems about as accurate as possible at this early date. I agree that "Jackson" is the bullying, controlling type that everyone will hate and try to boot as soon as possible.

That was a good premire and the"twist" is brutal. Jackson was voted Camp Director and now must choose 4 HGs for eviction right off the bat, no voting , no competition, just pick 4 to boot. This is a brutal twist, even though the 4 must battle back to regain the house, and the top 3 in the competition will be successful, but one unlucky HG will go home right now (tonight). This twist has never been done before. The 3 that were picked to go , even when they come back, will have it in for Jackson. He dreads this. Meanwhile we must choose our favorite HG (in our own minds) and this is mine:

They always have at least a couple of 'bombshell' type HGs but not always such exotic ones.

I would like to see her go far in the game but unfortunately the hottest ones never win or go as far as the final 3. Her strategy of 'laying low' can work for awhile but rarely, if ever, works until the final 5.

I had to sign up for CBS All Access again,  you can't keep track of what's really going on by just watching the the 3 'live' CBS shows each week, and some of them aren't really live.

Meanwhile Christie has won the first HOH comp. This will not be memorable in any way.

Do you have a strategy for winning the game?
Yes! I do! I plan on using my sexuality as a major social advantage. I'm going into the house as the openly feminine lesbian.

This is not a unique strategy. They rarely make it past half way, and there have been seasons where they were the first to be evicted. But I think she will go at least half way.

I cancelled the CBS All Access, although it will be active until July 28th, having already paid for the first month. I found out that there are 'analysts' on You Tube that give reviews of each days activities, so it's easy to keep up with comp. results, HOHs, POVs, evictions, etc. and watching the 3 weekly 'live' shows will be sufficient and I won't have to spend time on the computer watching scheming , speculations, and general ennui.....

I haven't been keeping a day to day 'log' like I usually do because I'm not 'invested' in most of the HGs, and the daily blogs on You Tube keep me informed of interesting happenings, if any, I think this is about day 10 or 12, one week is counted when they first enter the house but the first TV show is a week later. This season has a new twist wherein the booted HGs don't leave but remain in the house, but can't participate in any comps or voting, etc., and have to sleep in a separate room. There are two evictees right now and as soon as there are 4 ( two more weeks) they will compete with each other to see which one of them comes back and the other three are gone forever.

One rather complex power was given to 'Ovi' for winning a comp. ,  the second evictee, but before the power became active and he could use it, he was voted out the other HGs not being aware of his incipient power !  I think this took the producers by surprise because it would have added interest to see him use it over it's active life of 4 evictions.  But now he must just battle back for safety with the other 3 evictees, of whom only one is known at present.

Analyse, my fave, is keeping a low profile as she planned but has been nick named "Sis" for some reason, and might be in a 'showmance' but that's not entirely certain at the moment.

Meanwhile Jackson has been trying to 'divorce' himself from Kat who imagines that they have a showmance going. He thinks otherwise but she persists.  Possibly the first indication of a true sociopath in this seasons HGs.

rolling long without too much drama, so far, and no sociopaths ! That's unusual. Has production got better at vetting or did they decide to take a break from drama this season ?

I cancelled CBS All Access because I can get all the BB news from this site which gives news and info 3-4 days before it appears on the CBS show sched. For example we know that Sam and Nick were nominated for eviction but Nick saved himself with his POV win and now Nicole was put up. All this won't be revealed until the Wed. CBS show.

Meanwhile this season on day 68-70 , I haven't been keeping track, it looks like Nick will be booted tonight. My favorite, Analyse, was sent to the jury house last Thursday so that reduced my enthusiasm to watch closely, but do keep up with the gossip and spoilers.

It isn't unreasonable to think that Holly will win the POV and save herself. If not, then the last showmance will be history and Jackson will have a good chance of winning the $500 K, but not an assured chance. Nicole and Cliff are still formidable. I think that viewers would like to see Nicole and Cliff as the Final Two. If that happens I think the jury would vote Cliff as the winner. If Jackson should be part of the Final Two then I think that the Jury wouldn't vote for him.

Tonight Cliff will be evicted and Nicole's worst nightmare will come true as she goes to Final Three with the last showmance members.  But what would happen if she wins the Final HOH and nominates Holly or even Jackson for eviction ? Then depending on who wins Final POV, this could be a truly bizarre end to the season.

Jackson won the Final POV so he will save Holly and Cliff will go. But that still leaves Jackson/Holly/Nicole to battle for Final Two. It plays out like this:

1. If Nicole wins she will pick Holly to go with her to the Final Two and the jury will vote Nicole to win the $500K

2. If Jackson wins he will pick Holly to go with him to the Final Two and the jury will pick Holly to win the $500K

3. If Holly wins she will pick Jackson to go with her to the Final Two and she will win....as above.

The scenarios play out like this in order of their likely-hood:

What actually happens is that there is a three round comp. for the Finale HOH.  The first round was won by Jackson. This guarantees that he will go to round three to await the winner of round two which will probably occur today if previous season scheds. are followed. He and the round two winner will then compete and the winner will pick which of the other two will go with them to the Final Two, wherein the jury will pick the winner of the $500K.

So we have this scenario:

1. Nicole wins round two and goes to round three.
a. Nicole wins round three and picks Holly to go to the Final Two
b.   "       "       '        '        '    '   Jackson "     '     '     '     '
c. In both cases Nicole probably wins the season.

2. Holly wins round two and goes to round three.
a. Holly wins round three and picks Jackson to go to the Final Two.  This is almost certain if she wins.
b.  "       "      "         '      '     "      Nicole   "    "     '"      "      "       This is highly unlikely
c.  In "a."  Holly probably wins the season.
    In  "b." Nicole probably wins .

3. Jackson wins round three and picks Holly to go to the Final Two.  This is about as certain as the Sun rising.
a. Holly probably wins the season but this combo of the Final Two is the least certain because it's not clear where all the loyalties lie with the 9 jury members.

At any rate this is what makes BB so popular with those of us who like to "calculate" scenarios.

This will all play out on Thursday at the season finale, plus awarding $25 K to whom the viewers have voted between now and then as their favorite this season. Analyse doesn't have a chance so I'm not voting.

Holly won round two so she and Jackson will compete in round three for Final HOH, and regardless of who wins, the jury will have to pick between them because neither will pick Nicole to go with them to the Final Two. I am still uncertain who the jury will pick between Holly and Jackson.

This is it !  The finale tonight ! I predict that Jackson will win it all, Holly will win the 2nd place $50 K and Nicole will win the 'viewers favorite' $25 K.

The season had its controversies and the HGs overall were not as appealing or controversial in themselves as in some past seasons but it was not the worst season either, so we look forward tonight to a solid 1 1/2 hrs. of typical season ending hi jinks.
